  1. I've been plowing with IFS GM trucks since '89, they do a great job and are not at a disadvantage vs. Ford.
  2. Thanks for the pics, Zhawk.
  3. Sounds like my dreams just might be coming true.
  4. Last one for a long time? Yeah sure, I belive you... "I can stop any day" " I can quit whenever I want" "I don't have to buy these cars , I just want to" Heard it all before. Cool find , Man.
  5. Just thought I'd throw this out there: I see this decision as correcting a civil rights violation, an inequity exists in law simply due to prejudice and must therefore be corrected. It really is that simple, and for the politicians to waste time fighting such an obvious case of legal discrimination borders on criminal. However, I would defend until the end of time the right of any religion to refuse to sanctify same sex unions as marriages in the eyes of that specific religion. There is a reason that the separation of church and state is critical to this country's well-being, and this issue is a textbook example. I take this position as someone who believes in fairness and the right of individuals and organizations to be self-determining. I am not partisan here as I am not part of the gay community, nor religious in any way. I do, however, believe in freedom - the kind that is real and tangible, not the lip service given the concept by politicians who promote the very opposite in freedom's name.
  6. I think that I can speak for all of the C&G staff in saying that we appreciate the civility with which this topic is being discussed. Well done all, stay on the high road.
  7. This change , and its ultimate acceptance are inevitable simply because it is just. Those opposing it are just pissing into the wind.
  8. The death of the FWD Monte is long overdue. To those who compare the performance of the 80's RWD car to the current one, it isn't about the relative performance of the two V8s separated by nearly two decades. Rather, it is about the configurations of the two cars themselves. Had the Monte continued as a RWD car into the times of the LT1 and the LSx engines there wouldn't even be a comparison to make. Ten years from now the 80's cars will live on, modded with more up to date powertrains and the FWDs will mostly be recycled. The Monte Carlo name needs a long rest.
  9. The Solstice coupe concept ,as shown, is what I would buy. Retractable hardtops are compromise cars by definition and I wouldn't buy one.
  10. 68: There was a pink and grey two-tone '59 Buick sedan (hardtop) at the show I went to lasy Sunday. I would have gotten a pic, but my camera decided not to work.
  11. Yes, our family is pretty tight. Yes. I know.
  12. T live a satisfying life.
  13. The service and the tribute lap happened yesterday. Everything went very well.
  14. Meh, ok for what they are I guess. That coupe could have looked really good with a bit more design time. The interior seems really claustrophobic for a car that size - odd.
  15. Absurd.
  16. Thanks again guys, we finally have most of the details arranged and it looks like it will be quite the parade of cars for the "tribute lap". I'm pleased that so many people were willing to help out.
  17. Well, I bought a $10.00 bottle of stuff and applied it to Arkus - he doesn't stink quite as badly now. I can let him into the house, but togetherness is out of the question.
  18. Do all your homework first. Walk in Knowing what all the numbers are. Drop the printout on the desk and say this is what I want and how much I'm willing to pay. Can you help me? This method cuts through all of the BS and saves a huge amount of time. I am fortunate enough to have developed an understanding with a few dealers so when I go in to order something they just say" same deal as last time?" I respond with my answer and we're done.
  19. Have a good one,YJ.
  20. GMT-700? I think you mean GMT-400.
  21. That's a given.
  22. Being acclimated to it is not on the agenda. He's been banished to the barn for the night. Guess I had better by some large cans of tomato juice.
  23. One of my pups just had an encounter with a skunk, and boy, does he stink! Any ideas about how to get him de-skunked?
  24. Thanks Ocn, I took my Dad's Hawk - it seemed like the right thing to do. I saw some amazing cars there including a Corvair Lakewood wagon and a '70 SS El Camino with 66k original miles.
  25. Impossible to say. But rest assured it will be RWD, V8 and domestic.
