  1. The sheetmetal is different between the '77-79 and '80-85 (?) coupes.... the '80-85 had a more vertical rear window... the interiors were pretty much the same, though...and of course, the engines differed...(425 in '77-79 then 368 in '80 and the 4.1 came about somewhere in there...there were also diesels in the early '80s and even some V6 deVilles...
  2. The Century or the Sable comes to mind as the most likely of that group. My mother is a older female driver (past 70) but I don't think she would be interested in any of those cars.... Her primary cars are a '98 Lincoln Town Car and an '05 Lincoln Navigator. She also has a '90 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible, a '69 Mustang Mach 1 (had it since it was new), and 3 '67-68 Cougars (all cars she & my late father collected over the years)..
  3. Offer it here with a diesel and a manual and it would make a great commuter car... or a family car for small, upscale families... potential similar market to the Volvo V40, Audi A3 and BMW 1-series...
  4. Montana SV6...either become just 'SV6' or dropped completely... BPG dealers don't need two minivans... As far as existing, longer-lived names: Grand Prix.... I suspect it will become the 'G8' eventually..
  5. Bigger...this fits between the A and C (hence the B name).... A comes before B, B comes before C, etc...
  6. CSX sounds more plasuable than 'CXS'--after all, Buick had a GS, GSX, GNX, etc... 'CXS' is inconsistent.
  7. It's interesting what the US accomplished in space 35+ years ago while today it seems to be nothing but a series of failures...
  8. Yes, and the long front overhang...GM's larger FWD models always seem to have a lot of front overhang....
  9. Hmmm...if I had to choose between the two, I'd go for the Smart...the Hummer is beyond stupid. The Smart would be a great commuter car, but for an all-around car, I'd probably need something larger that seats 4..
  10. Well, the Impala is about the same size as far as interior space with the Accord and Camry...it just has a lot of body overhang that makes it longer...and it's in the same price range...so it's competitive with them... as are the G6 and Malibu at the smaller end.. Chevy's strategy isn't that different than Ford's...Ford has both the Fusion and Five Hundred to compete against the big 3 (Camry/Altima/Accord), and the Five Hundred can also go against the Avalon..
  11. Korean cars, American brand, sold in China...how international.
  12. Because it's in the biggest car market in the country, and one where GM hasn't done so well in a while?
  13. It's doesn't look so great with a front license plate, I'm afraid..
  14. From the articles I've read, my understanding is the Logan is intended to be a very inexpensive-to-build, inexpensive-to-buy car for developing markets (Eastern Europe, India, African countries, etc)..
  15. That's funny.... I get spammed periodically from a group called 'LDS Singles Online' (Mormons)...which is pretty funny since I'm an agnostic and my g/f is Jewish...
  16. Great to hear... I'm going with a bunch of people from work...we are using one guy's season tickets (great seats).
  17. I'm going to Green Day on the 19th then Oasis on the 20th..should be fun..
  18. I don't know about your percentages, but every article I've read indicates that the 1st gen Seville was built on a modified X-body platform...longer wheelbase and more sound deadener, etc...whatever...
  19. I saw a couple old trucks in the last week (remember when they were called 'mini-pickups' and were all Japanese in origin)?...a '70s Chevy LUV pickup, rusty but still running, and a battered, rusty mid '70s Toyota pickup... a yellow late '70s Ford Courier with NO rust....it's very strange to see rusty cars around here (Denver)...must have been from out of state.. I was thinking the other day that I rarely see cars older than 15 years in my daily commute....must be my neighborhood, where my office is, and areas I frequent...
  20. 35% more for a car that is really a gussied-up X-body (with ox-cart rear leaf spring supension)? The Seville may have had more old-school 'luxury' but the BMW was a far superior product both from a hardware perspective and more importantly, a driving perspective...
  21. Well, Dodge only had one SUV, the hideous Durango, so they definitely needed something smaller... its got the typical Dodge butch styling cues. I don't care for the looks, but it probably would do well. Though I'm a Jeep fan, I probably wouldn't go for a Liberty if I switched to a small SUV...more likely an Escape or wait for the Patriot...
  22. I'm sure they would be safer on the road than past small cars (remember shitboxes like the Geo Metro and Chevette?).... Smarts are engineered for safety..
  23. Hardly..it's not a Chrysler... vague similarity in profile to a Pacifica, but it's a totally different reality otherwise.
  24. I'm not into the high riding thing, but that LeSabre would look really good with a set of vintage Buick mags, IMHO...
