  1. Hmmm..that 2-seat Buick would be fun to build in scale.. the same idea could be applied to the Revell '59 Impala ht kit that is currently available. As far as Barris, I've never really gotten into his stuff..I find most of it rather tasteless and overdone..
  2. I don't know about the current models, but IIRC the old Durango and Dakota (which shared a lot) had rather poor crash result records...
  3. A little of everything, but the most common around here (metro Denver area) have to be Hondas, Toyotas, and lots and lots of Subuarus and Audis....(AWD is very popular here), and plenty of BMWs also... at least in the areas I frequent (downtown, Cherry Creek, and the southeast suburbs (Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills, Englewood, Centennial). For SUVs, I see a lot of Toyotas but also a lot of domestics (esp. Jeeps & GM full-sizers (Yukons, Tahoes, 'Burbans).
  4. Interesting..I didn't realize any shoes were made in the USA...I have a couple pairs of New Balances and they are both imported, I believe..
  5. I guess the best thing I can say about the Dakota styling is that it doesn't have the same front end as the Durango (one of ugliest SUVs on earth, IMHO).
  6. I suppose one could look it that way..I don't dwell on where a product is manufactured... I'm sure most of my clothes, home electronics, TVs, computers, etc were not made in the US..
  7. Sounds like this kid needs to spend more time in English class than the parking lot...whatever happened to basic grammar and spelling?
  8. I saw a black late '90s Honda Accord 4dr with gray ones hanging off the rear bumper. What kind of stupidity is this?
  9. Speaking of ugly stretches--that '79 Firebird Trans Am stretch 'wildmanjoe' posted above--I saw a photo of how it looks today (or one similar) in a magazine a while back--a rusted, burned-out hulk sitting in a field.
  10. There was a stretched late '80s Electra T-Type (the FWD model) with a mild stretch ( kind of like the the '77 models GM1 posted above) in the little town in Ohio I used to live in... wonder what ever happened to it. It was subtle enough that you didn't realize it was stretched until you looked at it in profile..
  11. I wonder why those don't have new retro-Saab front end.
  12. Odd how the rear badging is reversed..should say 'Chevrolet' on the left and 'Epica' on the right..reads backwards the way it is...
  13. I wonder if they are going to do an SRT-10 version of the Mega Cab..
  14. Maybe GM can one-up this by combining the extended cab with the crew cab (i.e. 4 conventional doors and 2 rear-opening doors with a 3rd row of seats...)
  15. Kind of reminds me of how a mild limo stretch would look on a pickup cab.. Hmmm....maybe GM can do something similar--stretch the cab of a 4dr Silverado 20-30 inches, put on an Escalade front clip, and call it the Fleetwood 75.. :)
  16. That's pretty stupid... too dumb to use a cupholder? And why would you take off the top of the cup? Felony stupid.
  17. Just a new grille and fascia, eh?
  18. True..but the serious ones are all RWD (with AWD optional on some).
  19. The CEO of my company drives one... pearl white, gold trim, stock chrome wheels...he's a white, 50-something golf-playing Canadian guy..I'm not sure if he's down with the gangsta rap image and hip-hop music in general.. :)
  20. My thoughts (trying to stay in the realm of the plausable and likely): I'm visualizing a Chevy sedan (Caprice)--aimed at the police market and RWD sedan market, and a sporty coupe (Camaro). Not sure about the Monte Carlo--will it remain FWD with the Impala? I see this RWD sedan coexisting with the FWD Impala (it's a big seller) and being at the top of the Chevy sedan line. For Pontiac, a RWD G8 sedan to replace the Bonneville & Grand Prix (though I'd rather see it have one of those names, 'G8' seems inevitable), and the next GTO coupe. A sport wagon version of the G8 to compete with the Magnum would be great. For Buick, a top of the line RWD luxury sedan above the Lucerne...I'd call it 'Electra'. (a luxury coupe and convertible or coupe/convertible called Riviera would be great also).
  21. Agreed...personally, I'd rather have a diesel over a hybrid...or how about a hybrid diesel?
  22. Sounds like you have serious attitude issues...
  23. It seems like a lot of the white religious OC suburbanites moved here... (Colorado). There are a ton of ex-OC religious folk in Colorado Springs and Douglas County (south of Denver suburbia). Though we also have a lot of Bay Area dot-bomb escapees.. :)
  24. I like Panera's half-sandwich/soup deal... I go there once in a while, but parking at the one closest to my office is a pain..
  25. For a performance car, I prefer RWD and a manual transmission..that's about the only thing in common amongst the types of performance cars I like (everything from Mustangs to BMWs to Porsches to the NSX).
