I've only seen one Bolt since moving to Ohio, at the Cleveland Auto Show last year..haven't seen any on the road.

This was funny...ordered a DoorDash delivery of Indian food for lunch today, and the driver was the same red bearded Milennial I chatted w/ about 6 months ago w/ the black Tesla Model 3. I noticed the front fascia was scuffed and cracked..he said he had spun it into a snowbank last week. He said when it was really cold last week the door handles froze and it was hard to get into, and that he'd been having intermittent electrical issues inside..and that the touchscreen was hard to use w/ gloves (because the heater quit).

After almost 2 years with my current Jeep, I'm definitely happy with the low mileage used approach (it was 3 yrs old with 25k, for close to $20k below the list of a new one).

On a side tangent, FCA needs to do an 'LA Rams' edition of the Ram in purple and yellow...- 52 replies

Not being a heavy duty truck customer, I do wonder for what use cases one would buy the gas engine over the diesel...unless they just don't like diesels.

For some reason, I was reading the Wikipedia article on the LS4 last night...had some unique parts for fitting in a transverse config, incl. a remote water pump..don't think I've ever seen one in person. The MC only got that engine option in its last 2 years, the '06-07..the 2 years it had the updated Impala-ish front end.

GM already did the pushrod V8 transverse in a FWD platform back in the oughts...not the best configuration, IMO.

From speculation in a couple articles, it sounds like that 7.3 V8 is going to be a new old-school pushrod V8. "The motor uses a new cam-in-block, overhead valve architecture with cast iron block and forged steel crankshaft.." Interesting retro move, compared to the OHC V8s they've been doing for over 20 years..- 52 replies

Mmmm...Alfa Montreal..saw one at a Concours show in Denver back in the oughts..they look really good in person, esp. love the front end.

Yeah, I've never thought about resale value, I usually keep cars long enough that it's a moot point..
-
If you like it, why not keep it to 75k or 100k miles? 37k isn't much...
-
Hmm...interesting...wonder what happened. I don't think the current (D4) Explorer has a low range.

I really want to visit Montreal, I’m sure I’d love the architecture and cuisine. I’ve been a few places in Ontario 20-30 years ago, but that’s all of Canada I’ve seen.

Oh, yeah..I love those 1970ish trim names. And the stripes and various hood scoops.. The car is unabashedly embracing 1970s style muscle car fun..not trying to be a BMW or Mercedes.

I'm going to have one sooner or later. Some details I love the about the Challenger---huge number of variations available, manual available, multiple V8s, an actual trunk, a 2dr w/ frameless door glass, hefty, RWD, and 4 distinct headlights, not melted lighting globs. The car has so much character in a retro modern package. Slyman's Tavern in Independence, OH has a great selection of beers...the corned beef sliders were delicious.

Went out for happy hour, alas, it started raining so I couldn't sit outside, but still, 57 degrees and intermittent sun for February in NE Ohio isn't bad. Parked outside the bar was a sharp bright blue w/ black hood & wheels late model Challenger T/A and a dark red Grand Cherokee SRT. Tasty Mopies...

Speaking of Kia and Genesis, these are strange times when you realize the Korean brands have the same number of RWD sedans on sale now in the US that the Detroit 3 have combined.....

Looking forward to seeing the Arteon in person...has some neat details, I like how the headlight trim sweeps into the grille...

Speaking of Buicks, stopped by my local independent mechanic earlier to pick up my sister's Trax (had an oil change and other service), and they had 3 late model Buicks parked out front, in for service or whatever...a silver previous-gen LaCrosse, a dark red previous gen Regal, and a white Lucerne.

Nice and sunny today, supposed to go over 60, which is incredible for Cleveland in February..got to find a bar w/ a patio open for happy hour this afternoon. Yesterday afternoon got into the mid 50s, so mild I took a drive w/ the sunroof open and heated seat on...had cabin fever after the week of cold and nasty weather... Yard is very soggy and muddy from all the snow melt, but the doggos are enjoying it..

I saw someone driving a couple weeks ago after the last big snow in an Equinox covered in snow with only the top 1/3 of the windshield brushed off. So many drivers are idiots that have no self-awareness...
