  1. Cooler fall weather here...convertible top down weather. Saw a clean pale blue '75 Caprice convertible (seems like a lot of '74 B-body verts were this color) and a clean yellow '75-76 Eldorado convertible rolling along in traffic...
  2. My eyes! My eyes!! Somethings just can't be unseen... AUGGGGGGHHHHHH
  3. I don't see anything from Buick or GMC on Alpha, since Buick is committed to FWD and GMC is trucks and FWD CUVs. So the 'anything else' would be Chevy. I can't see a small RWD Chevy sedan, though, since they have a full line of FWD sedans already..
  4. I think all the luxury and sports car makers have seen the success of the Cayenne and realized SUVs are an easy profit center and market expander. With Jaguar, I don't see the point since they have Land Rover as a sibling. What about Rolls-Royce? Ferrari? Hopefully not, but who knows..
  5. Gorgeous car...though I prefer the '71-74s, esp. the '72 and '74 w/ the offset license plates...
  6. Drool...I'd add in a GT40 MK II, Lola T70, and a Ferrari P330... Also like many '60s-70s F1 cars, esp. Lotuses.. As far as down-to-earth lust objects, I've always had a soft spot for the original Challenger, the '67-68 Cougars, '67-70 Mustangs, '69-70 Ford XLs, '69-72 LTD coupes and convertibles, '61-67 Lincoln Continentals (esp. the convertibles), '61-66 Thunderbirds, '63-67 Corvettes, '68-70 GTOs, '63-65 Rivieras, '66-67 Rivieras, '71-72 Rivieras, '67-70 Eldorados, and '66-67 Toronados...
  7. Doesn't look serious enough for a Defender. Too bad they don't sell the Defender in the US anymore, it's one of the few non-Jeep SUVs I've ever lusted after.
  8. Yes, it's promising...I like that it has it's own complete body, and not just a different front clip and rear trim. Not sure if even the windshield is shared. The prototype mules that have been posted of the new small Dodge have literally been a widened and lengthened Guilia, but I assume the production model will have it's own metal.
  9. They seem pretty well designed...kind of a modern Beetle in the 'people's car' sense of the old Beetle. The buggy looks fun. The original Up! prototype a few years ago was rear engined, BTW.
  10. I've eaten at that restaurant before..the views were great. A friend from grad school worked at Cantor Fitzgerald, she worked from home in NJ that Tuesday, her cat was sick. Random chance of not being at the office. A friend from Colorado was working in the WTC at a client, he was running late that morning and stuck in a cab coming from the airport... My sister was working in San Francisco that week, with all the flight cancellations she drove a rental Grand Marquis back to Phoenix later that week. I was between gigs, was at home in Colorado Springs glued to CNN that horrible day...
  11. Ahh, the Lambo LM002.... never seen one in person, but have a neat little diecast one..
  12. La Forza. That's it...was thinking 'Forenza' or 'Fortera' but that was a Vauxhall..
  13. I like it from the 3 photos I've seen..more like the Infiniti FX than the more mainstream premium SUVs (X5, ML). Will be interesting to see how the interior turns out. Interesting to see the Italians get into the luxury SUV game. Will be interesting to see how the Alfa one turns out also. The last Italian SUV in the US IIRC was in the late 80s-early 90s...an angular model by a small company whose name I can't recall..had Ford engines...I've seen maybe 4 of them in the last 20 years.
  14. If it's as nice as the 2nd gen CTS in a smaller package w/ the latest cabin tech and drives similar to the C-class and 3-series, then I suspect it will be very good indeed...
  15. I'm sorry to hear that and can relate.. two of my (actually my sisters') dogs are getting along in age (both 14) and having some health issues...they've become an important part of my life since moving to AZ in '08. Pets are like part of the family, I love my little entourage that follows me around the house (5 terriers in total).
  16. Happy Birthday, 66! Have a good one.
  17. Where is BMW sourcing their current automatics? ZF? They probably need a 10 speed for their NG models..
  18. Of the '73-77 A-body generation, there are a few I really like...like the '73 Chevelle SS, '73-75 Laguna, '73 Buick GS, '73 Grand Am, '77 Can Am, '76-77 Cutlass Supreme and Cutlass S. Too many of them had the styling ruined by the weak 2 headlight setup and the big bumpers, IMO. The '73 Buick one of the nicest profiles, IMO.
  19. Seems like this could be a path to Cadillac getting a modern DOHC V8...I can't see GM doing it from scratch. That's an intriguing thought! But would that not cause a BMW competitor in the new gen Cadillac's? I am not so sure BMW would want that! Maybe BMW would let Cadillac develop something off their last gen V8... anyway, using BMW diesels would make sense for Cadillac in Europe.
  20. Ouch. Something like that happened to my brother about 30 years ago w/ a rusty Mustang, along w/ the added drama of being on a bridge going about 60 mph with a carb fire..
  21. Seems like this could be a path to Cadillac getting a modern DOHC V8...I can't see GM doing it from scratch.
  22. I've read about people building up Turbo Dodge Caravans that ran really fast on drag strips..I guess the old 2.2 Turbo had a lot of potential.
  23. Saw a silver-green Plymouth Volare 4dr in minty condition tonight...very unusual to see one of those in any condition. Saw a black Fiat 500, tinted windows, chrome rims at a light.. next to a burnt orange Challenger R/T Classic.
  24. Maybe they will do a Spark 2 seat hatchback coupe and roadster, like the new Mini coupe and roadster..
