  1. I wonder what the automatic will be...
  2. Looks narrow. For a tiny single seat car, I'd rather have an Ariel Atom (way cooler looking).
  3. Such is the nature of conversations on internet forums...they can fluidly move from topic to topic..
  4. It's an odd little tale. Your memory reminds me of something I saw on I-80 back in June '97 when I was driving cross country from Chicago to Colorado Springs when I moved west..I had stopped for the night outside Omaha, and around sunrise was driving west in my 5.0 and saw a late '80s Caprice on the opposite side of I-80, lights and flashers on, fully engulfed in flames with flames coming out the windows..no one around.
  5. Great to hear it's finally off the ground. With those delays and problems, it must have been a rough experience on the project teams that developed it. I contracted for 9 months at a Boeing subsidiary back in '07-08, remember hearing about the issues w/ the plane. The software I worked on is used by the cockpit navigation charting system for the 787 and other planes.
  6. I read his latest short story 'Mile 81' recently. About an evil '70s vintage station wagon. Strange little tale..
  7. George Clooney has one, I think. Yeah, You could Balthysize one--add taiifins, white wall tires, lots of chrome..
  8. I wouldn't say 'biased against', '50s cars are just mpt not my area of interest..I prefer the crisper 60s designs.. Of late '50s Mopars, I find the '57-58 Chrysler 300 especially attractive...clean, not much chrome...
  9. The Citation reminds me..I saw a few days ago a minty early '80s X-body Skylark 2dr. Silver w/ dark red vinyl top, dark red interior.
  10. Plymouths didn't look good IMO until around '63.
  11. Too bad Christine wasn't a '61 Fury..far more evil looking front end than the '58.
  12. Coming back to 2012, I wonder if there will be eventually any powertrain variations in the Verano? An Eco-like version or a GS version down the road..could be interesting.
  13. Sounds fun..would love to go to an event like that.
  14. Fitz and the Tantrums, Moneygrabber
  15. Dart would be perfect for a compact Dodge.
  16. Let's see--Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Nitro, Caliber..they need something kind of aggro sounding. Dodge Aggressor? Dodge Semtex? Maybe Dodge Attitude (used in Mexico on an Accent). Or how about bring back Dodge Neon..
  17. At Target, I parked next to a red '60 Pontiac Catalina 2dr sedan. Solid shape, straight metal. Older paint, white interior. Some cracked windows. Looked like a solid, restorable car. Lifted in the back on an older set of Cragar SS wheels.
  18. 'Hornet' is better than an alphanumeric name or 'Caliber'... Anyway, no one in the target market probably remembers the '70s AMC Hornet, let alone a '50s Hudson. It's not a retro design, so it's not playing on nostalgia for models from 40 or 60 years ago..
  19. I saw a hideous '10 Camaro last year w/ wheels that size...car was painted hot pink with bright green stripes, with bright green wheels w/ pink rims..
  20. I remember seeing the first year ('05?) at an auto show when they first came out and thinking the interior looked cheaper and nastier than the S10 it replaced.
  21. Saw an odd car go by when walking back to the office from lunch...a '10 Camaro, with lots of scratches and dings, dirty, with New Jersey plates. In Arizona. Also saw a white '64 Caddy Coupe de Ville w/ tinted windows and large black w/ chrome rim wheels parking in the valet area at the mall..looked huge and impressive amidst the usual appliances and modern luxury cars.
  22. Honda has been trying to emulate Toyota too much in recent years...boring, soulless FWD appliances. They used to make sports cars and distinctive, high quality small cars.
  23. I should have taken a pic...parked in a row front of a grocery and restaurant in a strip mall were four interesting semi-recent out-of-production models, all in black.. Lincoln Blackwood, Mercury Marauder, last generation of Ford Thunderbird, and Chevy SSR.
  24. As is ownership of the state by industry, which is how it is in a corporatocracy.
