  1. It will be interesting to see where GM goes with the next full sizers. Haven't really seen or read anything yet. With the new CAFE standards coming, I would think there will be emphasis on greater efficiency across the line..wonder if there will be a slight downsizing and some weight loss...(isn't a typical Silverado today about a ton heavier than one from 20 years ago)?
  2. Happy Birthday, Olds.
  3. I've sat in a couple Silverados, for a truck they seemed fine, likewise for the Suburban (same dash as higher line Silverados). I had an F150 rental last year, the dash was a mess of too many wierd elements, too many cutlines and very cheap plastics.
  4. Chrysler is no longer the international brand either. It's murky...aren't Lancias going to be called Chryslers in the UK, but Chryslers will be Lancias elsewhere in Europe or something...strange stuff.
  5. It's nearly 9 and I've only had one cup of coffee. Usually on my 3rd by now.
  6. They need interior refreshes NOW. The full size interiors look fine...maybe not as nice as Ram, but better than the hideous plastic mess that is the F150 interior..
  7. mullet
  8. The 200 is outselling the Avenger, isn't it? And since Chrysler, not Dodge, is the international brand, maybe they decided Chrysler should get a global midsize while Dodge doesn't get one since it's NA only..
  9. Kewl...will have to look for those recolors.
  10. GM needs to stop making excuses though and start tackling the weight problem. I can guarantee you that the Sonic is not 400 lbs heavier because it is carrying 400 lbs of sound deadening! Probably heavier steel in the platform and suspension compontents to absorb the shock of Michigan's 3rd world road conditions?
  11. What's a Slim Jim have to do with a '64 Catalina?
  12. Ok....so only Chrysler will get a midsize car and minivan? And Dodge gets a midsize CUV? Wierd strategery. Unless they are setting up for a Dodge phaseout down the road.
  13. Yes, that's why the Pontiac forum is in the 'Heritage Marques' section.
  14. In the future. Sounds like if the current model will be built through MY 2012, then the new one won't be out before MY 2013 at the earliest.
  15. What an asshat.
  16. Saw a gorgeous cherry red '71 Torino Cobra this morning...black out rear window slats and taillight panel, shaker hood scoop, Magnum 500 wheels. Love those early 70s muscle cars. ...and this afternoon, saw a very sharp '87-ish Camaro IROC-Z in a dark red w/ black stripes w/ chrome 17-18 inch wheels in the same style of the '87-88 era 5-spoke IROC wheels. Also saw an '00-05 Caddy DTS 4dr convertible, dark red, top down. And a '79-81 Malibu 2dr, black, updated w/ the 4 headlight '83-87 El Camino nose.
  17. I miss having a stick. Haven't had a DD with one in 11+ years. Need to get something w/ one again.
  18. The Mazda2 and Fiesta yes should have been part also. Their rationale was that the Fit beat them in last year's comparo, so why bother..though it would have been interesting to see where they ranked relative to the newer models. As far as 'hot hatches', the only models in the NA market today that fit that label IMO are the Mini JCW, Mazdaspeed3 and VW GTI.....the cars in the C&D comparo are more 'lukewarm hatches'. Will be interesting to see how the Focus ST and Fiesta ST turn out.
  19. Went out for brunch late this morning and saw a gorgeous red w/ black roof '58 Imperial 2dr ht and a copper-color '75 Buick LeSabre convertible, top down.
  20. Would be fun to have one of those and update it w/ a modern diesel and modern amenities...
  21. '69 Tempest or LeMans...reminds me of PCS..haven't seen him around in ages... Same color as my Mom's '68 Cougar...Mercury called it Glacier Blue, Ford called it Brittany Blue IIRC..
  22. I read the article the other evening...IIRC, they left the Fiesta and Mazda 2 out because the Fit beat them in the last comparo.
  23. I understand it..get the.warranty and reliability of a new car and avoid the headaches of a used car. I'd buy a new Wrangler and take it off road, since I bought my Grand Cherokee new and took it off road a week later...
  24. Reasonable or Dreaming? Dream Ride or Dreaming?
  25. A new 2dr convertible 4x4 for under $30k, seems like a bargain..and it's the only vehicle of it's sort on the market today. I like that they have options and modern features available to make them more drivable on road...
