  1. I think they are now legal in AZ, which is amazing considering how dry much of this state is. I'll probably just go to the fireworks show downtown again this year, if I'm in town. A few years ago, I had the annual tradition of gathering w/ some friends in a Denver suburb and playing w/ small fireworks in a cul-de-sac before walking to a nearby park on a hill where we could see the large shows from several suburbs. Good times.
  2. Wow..that is clean. Beautiful year for the Cutlass.
  3. What an idiot state. AZ will probably do the same thing. Damn RSRs.
  4. I remember that from Top Gear, I think. One truly unique semi-exotic car I love is the Ariel Atom...I'd love to have one and a month of June or September days on Ohio backroads...strange to look at, but so pure in it's purpose. It would be a joy to drive, I think. Put on a helmet, a driver's suit, a Camelback full of water, and head for the hills...
  5. In the uber-expensive car world my favorite designs are the current Aston Martin range...looking forward to see the Rapide in person. Looking forward to seeing the 458Italia as well...I'll probably have the Fujimi 1:24th scale kit before I see the 1:1
  6. That car is clean..looks like just surface rust, and the interior is very clean...
  7. Lots of exciting stuff still made, Dodgefan named many of them that I like. Saw a gorgeous black Challenger R/T today, with silver R/T stripes on the fenders and hood, hood pins, chrome wheels...love the styling of that car.
  8. Nice..I grew up with those..my folks had 3 (my Mom still has them)...a '67 289, a '68 302, and a '68 390 XR-7. The '68 302 is silver blue, blue interior, 60k original miles, 2nd owner, all original. Manual steering, manual brakes, 3spd manual transmission. Scary as hell to drive like that. The '67 is original owner, silver green, 140k miles. I saw a '68 Cougar for sale today, with chrome 22 Dork wheels, painted lavender w/ a white vinyl top.
  9. That's one of those concepts I truly find hard to wrap my mind around...since I have always associated conservatism w/ intolerance, bigotry, homophobia, etc. Have to separate fiscal from social conservatism. I have stereotypical misconceptions, no doubt, but based in truth on various social conservatives I've met over the years...
  10. Not to mention Buick hasn't had a 2dr anything in over a decade. Coupe and convertible versions of the new Regal could be quite nice..
  11. Willie (Willie Nelson wrote the song 'Crazy' that was a hit for Patsy Cline)
  12. Yes, but AZ is such a conservative state, about as red as Utah.
  13. Interesting...wouldn't have expected to see something like that in AZ.
  14. I like old Mercedes Benzes when they aren't in the shop. When they aren't breaking, they can be nice to drive..solid, comfortable. Still drive my sister's Mercedes money pits occasionally, the red '91 300CE ht especially so..was fun to drive w/ the sunroof open and windows down in the winter/spring. The '84 500SEL needs an exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe, the interior fills w/ poison gas after a few min of idling.
  15. I've noticed a lot of these over the last year or so...not sure if it's an Arizona thing or something else. It's a small dark blue square with two horizontal yellow bars. Looks like a yellow equals sign '=' on a blue square. Anyone have any idea what it means?
  16. I like the sound of that...those sound similar to the roads of my youth--- the incredible eastern Ohio backroads..there are some incredible winding, twisty, roller coaster style roads amongst the hills and lakes about 75-100 miles west of Pittsburgh..state routes, county roads, etc. Have to watch out for the Amish on some of them, though. I try and get in a few hours of backroad fun every time I go back there to visit family..so green there, so different from the arid desert of AZ.
  17. On the commute this morning, saw a few interesting Chevys, from old to new. Saw a sharp copper w/ white roof '59 Chevy 4dr wagon, rolling on 18" TTs. A couple min later, I saw a very clean '81-85 Caprice 4dr in a gold-bronze w/ tan vinyl top, whitewalls, and the wire-wheel hubcaps that were common then. Got to work, parked next to a '10 Camaro (new w/ temporary tag) in a retina-searing Mountain Dew metallic green..is this the 'Synergy Green' color? First I've seen in this color...was an LT. Also saw a dark gray Porsche Panamera at the coffee shop...first one I think I've seen in person..even uglier in person than in photos.
  18. The time is now. Wherever you go, there you are.
  19. 'Wishing' by A Flock of Seagulls. I'm lost in '80s synth-pop tonight...
  20. Excrement!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Saw a red C5 Corvette Z06, bright red.. and caught a quick glimpse of a '71-72 Electra in lt green from behind, parked down a street as I went past..
  22. Saw a dark blue 'grandpa bling' style '10 LaCrosse in traffic today...dark blue, fake tan carriage roof, chrome trim on the B-pillars and around the windows, chromed mirrors, gold badging on the C-pillars, decklid and gold hood ventiports...whitewall tires and chromed wheels.
  23. Ebsen
  24. Well, it was off topic. Seemed right. Had a few hours sleep. Back at it.
  25. I hate quarterly deployments. Worked from home for 4 hrs Friday morning, did stuff (laundry, etc) around the house Friday afternoon, been in the office now since Friday 6pm w/ my team doing deployments of applications to production servers (conference call w/ people across 4 US time zones and India). Should have taken an afternoon nap. Hope to go home and get sleep within the next hour...
