  1. The people I know that are big Wii fans seem to have rejected other gaming platforms. On the other hand, I prefer Farmville above all other games.
  2. Or the Wii. Maybe he's a Kindle and Blackberry guy rather than iPad and iPhone.
  3. They have a large retiree population in AZ, so their probably is a lot of demand for the geezer bling..probably the same in S. Florida and other retiree hotspots.. Saw a maroon DTS done that way today--it went even further w/ the fake continental kit on the rear..
  4. It's an easy flight from Phoenix..direct on Hawaiian Airlines..the 3 times I've been there (twice to Oahu, once to Maui) I've had red Mustang convertibles...the drive from Honolulu up to the north shore via Kaneohe along the eastern coast is incredible..so green. I want to go back and go to the big island. I really want to go to Alaska, maybe take a cruise up there. This years' vacations are probably going to be a few long weekends in Denver and the mountains, San Diego or Santa Monica (go to beach to escape the AZ heat), maybe Seattle and the usual family visit to E. Ohio Memorial Day..

  6. Since the other 4 brands are now gone, it would be a moot point to report them.
  7. Hmmm..IIRC, there was a huge convertible w/ 6 wheels on the cover of Road & Track around 1977. It was a one-off, black IIRC. Don't remember any other details...I still have that magazine from childhood in my stash. Speaking of this Mercedes T80, never heard of it..will have to research it.

  9. Hmm....had I been the age I am now in '77, I think I'd have had mutton chops, sport coats w/ wide lapels, snazzy aviator sunglasses, and been rollin in a '77 Lincoln Mk V Bill Blass Edition, listening to Led Zeppelin and The Who on the 8-track. That would have been badass. My brother was 28 in '77, had the mutton chops, handle bar mustache, but drove a Mustang II Mach 1. Not exactly badass. He traded it on a '74 Firebird Formula 400 in '79. As far as the past, I wouldn't mind still being in 1998 when I was 28--thinner, had hair, and had my M3...but my Motorola Star Tac then was teh weak sauce compared to my Motorola Droid of today. As far as alternate lives, I'd love to have been a 20-something engineer at NASA in the late '60s...working on the moon mission would have been quite the experience, I think. Or at the same time on the Arpanet project, working on the original Internet w/ BBN or w/ Kleinrock at UCLA. Pioneering computer science.
  10. Another sighting today was a clean lt blue & white '57 Ford 2dr wagon.
  11. Coulter Cadillac, the oldest Cadillac dealer in AZ. Report them for bad taste?
  12. Ah...living in delusion from the modern world.. Got yer black and white tv, black rotary dial phone also?
  13. Went past the neighborhood BPGC store, had not one but two Grandpa edition '10 La Crosses---a white one and a maroon one--both w/ tan carriage tops, gold trim, white wall tires and chrome wheels. I wonder if they have AM radios also..
  14. I can't speak for Alaska (it's on my to-do list), but I love Hawaii...been there a few times, want to go back and see more of the islands.
  15. Because you are still in 1959? Or do you disavow Alaska and Hawaii?

  17. It seems we truly are America the F*cked.
  18. Impressions: something very wrong about this. I hear Cinco de Mayo is not a big deal in Mexico, not a major holiday the way it's percieved here. Personally, I'd never wear a flag on a T-shirt..seems tacky to me. (though I do have a couple old concert t-shirts that have designs that sort of have the Union Jack).
  19. I found this article in today's AZ Republic amusing...it's supposedly one of the largest flags and flags in the metro area. The dealer is at a new location, which used to be a Ford dealer---that dealer was torn down last year when it merged w/ the LM dealer down the street... this is about 1/2 mile from my house. Toyota, a great American car company.. AZ Republic article A crowd gathered Friday on a construction site at Camelback Road and 16th Street in Phoenix to watch as a 240-ton crane lifted a white, 165-foot flagpole and placed it in a 15-foot-deep base. The carbon-steel pole arrived at the Camelback Toyota Scion dealership in seven pieces and was welded together on the 5-acre site, said Mike Pacheco, the dealership's real-estate director. The flagpole, which flies a 40- by 80-foot flag, is among the tallest in the Valley. "There's no better time to salute the country," Pacheco said. "Sixteenth and Camelback, there's no better location. We believe in a continued showing of our support." 20. Only the light duty Silverados were redesigned for '88..the heavy duty (3500?) models kept the '73-87 style through '91...
  21. Saw an extremely strange SUV Saturday night in downtown Denver, in a dimly lit parking lot. It was an Isuzu Axxiom, lifted on large tires (maybe 35 inch), chrome wheels, chrome bull bar on the front, chrome side bars below the doors, and chrome roll-bar style bars up and over the roof, outlining the rear hatch and windshield..connected on top w/ a chrome roof rack w/ a pair of large spare tires. Had a chrome air filter snorkel stack on the front fender. The oddest detail, though, was the lack of Isuzu badging--it had Subaru Outback badging on the rear hatch and rear quarter panels. Truly wierd...wonder what the story w/ this one was.
  22. The June issue of Automobile came over the weekend. There is a well done large right front 3/4 view illustration of how it might look. Pointy and angular. Very sleek.
  23. I assume a 4cyl. Didn't open the hood. No, but did several runs up ramps into busy freeway traffic..seemed more than adequate. Cruised at 75-80 down I-25. Yes, nice car overall. It's the only current midsize I've driven, I think the last FWD midsize sedans I've driven was an '08 Sonata and before that, an '05 Taurus and G6.
