  1. I generally always tip, sometimes there is a gray area where I'm not sure whether to tip or not are in restaurants where you pay first at the counter, then they bring the food to your table...kind of those in the 'quick casual' category. Awkward, since I rarely carry cash yet they don't often have a tip line on the receipt when you pay (and if the amount is low enough, you don't even sign).

  3. My sister once dated a guy from Constantinople that drove an Opel. (well, he was from Istanbul).
  4. Anton Chigurh is such a bad azz. And Javier Bardeem is a great actor. (not to mention he has Penelope Cruz for a girlfriend..drool.)
  5. That's just the way it is. Ken looks like such as Bad Azz Mofo.. 1975 style.
  6. Some will win, some will lose Some were born to sing the blues Oh, the movie never ends It goes on and on and on and on
  7. It is what it is..
  8. Same here, I've found all of these except for the last 2...found the Corvette concept in silver and yellow variations, and the Firebird in green (love that color) and red. The CTS-v only in dark metallic gray. As far as repaints, found the Matchbox ZR1 in gray yesterday at Target.
  9. Yah, the last ones were the best looking...the headlights were just so ugly on the '00-05 models. The Lumina based '95-99 weren't bad, but they looked like a 2dr Lumina, not really distinctive from the sedan.
  10. A couple other wierd ones...a couple times I've been at a gas station, filling up, and a guy walks over to me and asks if I want to buy his 'high end' speakers out of the back of his Suburban or van...some story about 'they were going to a home installation w/ them, but the owner declined them, can get them for 75% off, whatever'...yeah, right..probably stolen goods. Or in December the guy that comes to the door and says he has premium (Omaha Steaks or something similar) steaks in the car that he is selling, frozen, discounted, blah blah blah. Wierd stuff.
  11. I've had random people come up to me in public places and try and sell me on Jesus.. I usually answer that I'm a Druid or 'no habla ingles'..
  12. Wonder what the story on this one is...looks like an unrestored Firebird at a car show or auction. Nice patina of wear.

  15. How about...Powdered Toast Man?
  16. What's on you mind? pure energy
  17. Sounds fun. I've played Fantasy F1 for the last 5 years. Maybe I should make a Cheers and Gears group there if there is any interest.
  18. While grinding along in bumper to bumper traffic this morning, a red '10 ZR1 rolled up beside me..first one I've seen on the road. This afternoon, on the way home, the same red ZR1 passed me... sweet. Also saw a faded dark red w/ white top '82-86 Bonneville (the downsized G-body model). Haven't seen one of those in ages. Also saw an '85 Olds 88 in silver green w/ darker green top, very clean shape (the last year of the RWD B-body model).
  19. Many climate change deniers are the same crowd that doesn't believe in science, believe in 'intelligent design' and believe the earth is 6000 yrs old. They are delusional.
  20. Interesting...the hood mod and other mods would be kind of interesting on a Pro-Touring style MC, without the ugly paint and monochrome trim (and doesn't the owner realize tinted headlight covers went away as a fad maybe 20 years ago)? R
  21. Not diecast, but for model builders like myself, Revell has had some solid new 1:25th scale GM kits released in the last month, incl. their all-new '72 Olds Hurst Olds convertible kit, their new '57 Chevy Bel Air 2dr sedan 2n1 kit, and reissues of their '60 Impala ht and '57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham (an ancient kit--tooling goes back to '57!).
  22. One of sources I use for upcoming release info is the Hobby Talk forums. Under diecast, they have forums for Greenlight, Johnny Lightning, M2, Hot Wheels, Matchbox and others. I also check HotWheelsCollector.com (official site), JohnnyLightning.com periodically, and get the email newsletter from vendor Milezone. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/forumdisplay.php?f=52 As far as new releases, I ordered a few new last night from Milezone, incl. the Matchbox Lesney Series issue of the '69 Cadillac (yellow w/ black top), the '76 Chevy stepside PU (blue and white two-tone), the JL Forever 64 '80 Malibu 2dr (gold).
  23. Toyota Says Cup Holders Still Working Great Rest Your Beverages With Confidence, Says Carmaker TOKYO (The Borowitz Report) – Embattled automaker Toyota today said that despite problems with accelerators and brakes, the cup holders on its most popular car models were “perfectly safe to use.” “Feel free to enjoy the beverage of your choice and know that you can rest it in one of our cup holders with confidence,” said Tokyo spokesman Hiroshi Kyosuke. “Our cup holders are world-class.” But Mr. Kyosuke’s upbeat comments about Toyota’s cup holders were undercut somewhat later in the day by congressional testimony from Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. “You should only feel safe to use your cup holder if your Toyota is parked in your driveway,” Mr. LaHood said. “At 80 miles per hour, the cup holder becomes a rocket launcher.” Toyota’s stock plunged 17 percent on the Transportation Secretary’s remarks, prompting him to issue the following statement: “Opposite of what I said.” More here. (note: The Borowitz Report is a humor publication, kind of like the Onion)
  24. Today was Chevy pickup day, saw 3 very clean '73-87 shortbed fleetside 2wd regular cab pickups. First, a dark colored(was at 6:30am, dark out) '83 or so (had the stacked rectangular headlights w/ parking lights behind horizontal grille), very clean...next was a two tone bright blue and white late '70s model, and then this afternoon I saw a very clean white '76-77 or so one.
  25. sleep (Took my Ambien last night, but the dogs kept waking me up..the neighbors cats were yowling..)
