  1. True...but at least the Brougham and Catera were RWD, not the usual GM FWD generics..
  2. Hmmm..not exactly..Cadillac never gave up RWD.
  3. Hmmm...Breeze as in a flattus emission? Breeze isn't a violent name, though (since most of Dodge's current lineup has violent names)... maybe Tornado SRT4 would work..
  4. I'm not in the target market for it, the G8 sedan is more to my taste...but it's a nice addition to the lineup, IMHO. In a world of generic, disposable FWD transportation modules, a new car from an North American market brand with RWD and V8 should be cherished as something worthwhile, IMHO.
  5. The things I didn't like about the '90s B-bodies were the wierd tippy-toe look some had (wider body than the older B-bodies, but still with the old track) and the huge, deep dash and ginormous windshield... I like the Panthers more overall...I'm pretty familiar with the '90s Town Cars (my dad had 2 of 'em) and they are pretty smooth and comfortable to drive (and I've driven a lot of the Grand Marquis and recent Town Cars as rentals in the last few years).
  6. True, different demographic. It would be interesting if GM would offer a compact, AWD performance sedan like the WRX/Evo but that's another story for another thread...
  7. Sounds reasonable. Maybe something like: 360hp V8 in an SS 400 hp V8 in a Z28 500 hp V8 (ZR1 or CTS-v motor) in a ZL1 or other top trim
  8. I can't see why a production version wouldn't.. I'm sure people thought the same thing about the xB and Smart...
  9. Maybe Chevy felt 300 hp for the V6 would be too close to their base V8 (the displacement and hp of which has yet to be announced, I think?)
  10. Remember, there are a lot of kiddies on this board..that's the only way they know of expressing themselves.
  11. I have no idea..just a wild guess..but if it is true, I wouldn't be surprised...
  12. Cadillac probably warned Chevy not to go there... they wouldn't want the exact same engine and power used in the CTS to be in a much cheaper Chevy...
  13. Not much point in cheering about an obvious decision, is there?
  14. Yes, 25k 4cyl Camaros would definitely help to offset a couple thousand 500hp top-of-the-line models...
  15. NAIAS 2009, maybe?
  16. Which would be good for GM, I think...they need to expand their customer base, rather than relying on previous customers...
  17. Mmmm....TastyKakes.. I think I'll go to Pat's Philly Cheese Steaks for lunch tommorow..they sell TastyKakes. (I've been on a Philly/New Jersey kick all week--listening to Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi---going to go see the Boss Saturday night in Cinci and Bon Jovi on the 31st here). Pat's Philly Cheese Steaks
  18. And of course, our delusional, trapped-in-a-past-from-before-his-time Sixty Eight will continue ranting for years about the B-pillars..
  19. Hopefully, when the production version is out, we won't hear all the whining from the old farts that it doesn't look just like it did 40 years ago (which is what happened with the GTO).
  20. I suspect the CAFE standards are just a convenient excuse for forces within GM that are against mainstream RWD models, the forces that want all non-Cadillac models to be generic FWDers... (i.e. PCS and his GME minions).
  21. I love manuals, but there are just so many vehicles I like that aren't available with them, that I'm content to live w/ an automatic in a daily driver. I've been driving manuals off and on for 20+ years. As far as traffic goes, it does get tiresome clutching in and out and having to shift and also use my hands to pick up my mocha latte, my bagel, phone, etc..
  22. Yeah, too many people confuse 'ignorant' with 'stupid'. For example, there is an infinite amount of GM engine trivia that I'm ignorant of, but I'm not stupid..
  23. It could be a Scion for the future. Just think how cool cars will look in 2020.
  24. Or pronounced as individual letters... U-T-E... The industry has been long obsessed with MLAs, and Pontiac has been no exception... GTO, GXP, GTP, etc...
  25. I think I've only seen them in pictures...I recall a factory pic in a book of a gold one with hubcaps. If I read the Wikipedia entry correct, there was an RS decal package from '75-80. I vaguely remember seeing yellow '78-80 Camaros years ago with black graphics and 'Rally Sport' spelled out...
