Sweet...I saw a green DB9 roadster last week (Broncos player Champ Bailey's ride). There were several AMs at the Denver Auto Show yesterday--white V8 Vantage roadster, gray V8 Vantage coupe, silver DB9 coupe...

Went to the Denver Auto Show yesterday...they had an orange production Challenger rotating on display, and a black G8 rotating..couldn't get into either or get up too close.. The MKS was there also, rotating...it has strange proportions...very thick vertically in the midsection and rear...

Reminds me of something I saw at the pub Friday night..some asswipe had parked his Maxima such that it took up 4 parking spaces...if I'd had a beater Suburban w/ bull bars I'd love to have rammed it and pushed it out of the way... It's just a f@#king Maxima--nothing of significance--why park like an asshole?

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Rockies do this year...I've been a fan of them for the last decade...but I'm moving to Diamondback territory next month, so we'll see where my loyalties fall..

I remember Car and Driver or Motor Trend doing a road test of one of those back in the day...don't think I've ever seen one, though.

I can definitely remember when Korean stuff was pretty bad--20 years ago, Hyundais were a poor choice relative to a 3 yr old used Honda, IMHO. I also remember when Korean VCRs and home electronics were a poor choice relative to Japanese (i.e. I remember comparing a Sony VCR to a Goldstar and getting the Sony....I have 10-15 yr old Sony and Yamaha home theatre components that are still in fine working order (receivers, VCR, DVD player, cassette deck, record player). (I have a buddy that has 40 yr old Marantz equipment that works great, but those were super high end back in the day). My 20 yr old Sony Walkman still probably works (haven't used it in years, though). I'd love to find TVs, computers, etc made in the US, but I'm not holding my breath..I have no idea where my iPod, MacBook, Toshiba HDTV, etc were made, but I bet it's not in the US.. Or clothes...looking in my closet at shirt labels is like looking at a list of UN countries... my shoes are Danish and Italian brands mostly, but I have no idea if they were actually made in Europe. Cars seem to be the last big category of consumer goods still designed and manufactured in the US..

Yes, but there are a lot of people out there that would rather have a new car with a warranty than a used car..

When they come, they probably will use the same angle that Hyundai did when they first came to the US...very cheap, basic cars for those that can't afford a new car. Indian cars are coming also (Mahindra trucks and SUVs first).

Unfortunately, what is the choice for the consumer? It seems everything (consumer products) sold at Wal-Mart, Ace, Home Depot, etc is made in China and manufacturing in the US is by and large dead or dying. I don't see any way of undoing the damage that has been done over the last 3 or so decades...

Agreed...it took the Koreans roughly 20 years to reach the Japanese standard in the US, China will probably be able to do it in 10 or less...

Perhaps whenever the Chinese makers do come here, it will involve Wal-Mart.... they will probably set up an arrangement to sell Chinese cars under one of their store brands (I can see it now--- Puritan subcompact sedans, Great Value SUVs, and Sam' Choice pickups). Or how about Costco Kirkland brand Chinese cars?

Or they were inspired to try and one-up the G6 GXP front end..

I don't care for the front end, but really like the roofline and side profile..

Interesting stuff.. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the '67-72 generation had 3 lengths of stepsides--6, 8, and 9 foot or something like that...

Ya, then became a 4.5 then later a 4.9 until '95. Interesting factoids about the HT 4100 from Wikipedia: "The HT4100 may not have been the most successful engine to sit under the hood of a Cadillac, (some people called it Hook and Tow), but customers were no more satisfied with the other two engines available at the time, the V8-6-4 and the Oldsmobile 5.9L Diesel. Kits were sold to retrofit the cars with Chevrolet engines (Buick and Oldsmobile V6s would also fit, but were much harder to install)." Apparently, the engine block was porous and oil would leak through it...wierd.

The Vortec 8100 was a derivative of the old BBC (427, 454,etc), I think? So is it dead now? No more big blocks?

Buick apparently had a 300 from '64-67 and a 340 from '66-67.

There were various small (under 300 CID) versions of GM V8s that were short lived from the mid '70s-early '80s. Chevy 262 (75-76) Chevy 267 (79-82) Pontiac: 265 (80-81) Olds: 260 (75-82)

There was a Tundra HD dually concept at the SEMA show last year..

I haven't seen one of those in ages...I remember seeing them in Florida in the '80s in state hwy dept livery. I vaguely remember once seeing a stepside w/ a 4dr crew cab body...don't recall if it was a short or long bed, though.

While out to lunch today, I saw Denver Broncos footballer Champ Bailey at a BBQ place near my office...he had a goregous silver green Aston Martin DB9 convertible, w/ the top down. I saw a gold '08 CTS in my office parking lot, parked next to a bronze Enclave.
