    Building a 128i

BMW has long had lengthy, pricey option lists...same with the 3 and 5 series..there's a huge price difference between a base model and a fully loaded one.
  2. Yeah, it would make a neat coffee table book... when I lived in an apartment, there was a neighbor who drove about a baby-blue 1950 Plymouth 4dr....amazing to see something like driven in the '90s.
  3. Hmmm...in the past week, I've eaten at a Tibetian place (today for lunch), an Indian buffet, a Chinese place, a Mexican place, a Thai place, and an Italian restaurant. Plus Einstein's Bagels a couple times and Starbucks. Thai is probably my favorite 'ethnic' food, followed by Indian and then Vietnamese (I love the noodle bowls and pho soup). I also like Greek and Middle Eastern cuisine occasionally. I go for French and German occasionally also ... I also like 'mercun' ethnic food, like BBQ and Cajun/Louisiana cuisine.
  4. That's got to be kind of rare...I have a friend that has one of the last ones badged as a Blazer ('94?). A red 2dr w/ barn doors. Neat truck. I saw a new Chrysler minivan for the first time today, wasn't quite sure what it was at first--the styling is rather European, big, clean, boxy..very different profile from the Asian minivans. I saw a clean bright red '67 Camaro RS also, had the headlight doors open, no front bumper, cowl hood, black Z-28 style stripes...
  5. The lousy gas mileage is the big problem with the Aveo...a subcompact like that should get at least 40mpg...
  6. Interesting...I figured the new Malibu would have a typical 4 year or so run..
  7. We'll see...I can't imagine a new Malibu in only 3 years...this is GM we are talking about...
  8. The next-gen Malibu is probably 5 years away, though, and who knows if it will be larger than the current one?
  9. And what if that Saturn had had a hatchback...would it have been a 4dr?
  10. The problem is engineers generally have no interest in moving into the management side of things... Very different mindsets and motivations between the technical and managerial worlds.
  11. Because on the internet, arguing over trivia is the highest form of conversation..
  12. Just watched an interesting Hungarian movie--"Kontroll" that has a great soundtrack...got to find it.
  13. Wow...that Pontiac coupe is CLEAN. I don't think I've seen one that nice since '77.
  14. Ok...I give up. You are impossible.
  15. I'm surprised they don't make him register as a car dealer. I had a buddy in college that bought, fixed up, and sold cars continuously for about 5 years to pay his way through school..I think he had over 100 cars over a 5 year span..
  16. I certainly refer to them as coupes... definitions change over time. These body style definitions are not cast in stone...stop being such a curmudgeon and open your mind, ok? (of course, in the bigger scheme of things, this is all just trivia).
  17. Whatever...
  18. Yes, outside the US. It was only sold here for a brief time. I think in the US, many people would confuse it with the Festiva, which was a real POS.
  19. Little brother for Aygo, eh? I could see this coming to the US as the Scion IQ (or a hybrid version as the Prius IQ).
  20. Some coupes have B-pillars but frameless door glass, for instance, a Ferrari 550, 575, 599, or 612. Or the current Mustang. No one would call them 2dr sedans...
  21. Huh? The Buick is gone already? Wow...you change cars fast....
  22. Yes, and in a subcompact like that, a sedan is rather pointless..the 3dr and 5dr versions look better and are more practical..
  23. I'm sure by NAIAS 09 we will see the production headlights (as the glacial pace continues).
  24. Having him still in that role in 2010 doesn't sound very good, IMHO....he's a lifer..they need change.
