  1. That's what I'm thinking..I'd rather see him than Hillary in the Oval Office..this is definitely an interesting year for politics.
  2. Yeah...I did love a Brazilian once... (my ex-fiancee was from Brazil, unfortunately, our neuroses/psychoses proved incompatible).
  3. More likely oblivious... I never understand the people who try to individualize their mainstream cars and end up making them look stupid..of course, kids did the same thing when I was young...tinted headlight and taillight covers, cheesy ground effects, etc..
  4. It's an interesting concept... Driving across Wyoming is pretty dull...I've done it twice on I-80. Big empty state.
  5. Yes...hard core gamers are wierd...kind of in their own little world.
  6. Hmmm...if word gets around that GM is 'gay-friendly', the Bible Belt right wing lunatics will start a boycott and rant and rave...
  7. I saw a Jeep Commander in traffic today with a FlexFuel badge on the rear hatch..didn't realize Chrysler had any flex fuel vehicles.
  8. I think in general, humans have difficulty in understanding 'gray' issues... global warming/climate change is one those gray issues..not black or white, not 100% or 0% probable... since it can't be definitively proven one way or the other, there is FUD..and also I think naturally, most people are going to see it pessimistically, worst case.. (is the glass half empty or half full? My existentialist leanings would say there is no glass).
  9. I like old cars..I enjoy seeing them at car shows, and I have a couple of my own--'69 Mustang, '87 Mustang, and I drive them a few hundred miles per year.. But for a daily driver, I prefer the reliability, safety, creature comforts, and disposability (i.e. if one gets stolen or wrecked, insurance takes care of it and I get a new one) of a vehicle built in this century...staying current, keepin' it real..
  10. Agreed...esp. the trucks and SUVs..
  11. Yes...hopefully this car (and the Solstice) will turn around Pontiac's current image of flashy rental cars..
  12. E-85 seems like a poor substitute to modern diesels....after all, if the Europeans (and soon the Japanese) can sell diesel cars here, why can't GM? This isn't 1984 when GM diesels were $h!..
  13. Not really..I do my part to recycle, not be too wasteful. I don't drive a Hummer..
  14. Never driven a Saturn, GMC, or Hummer. Avis has been my source of GMs to drive over the last 13 years or so... my first GM rental car was a '95 Ciera (the only Olds I've ever driven). From Avis-- Buick: '98 Century Cadillac: several '98-02 DeVilles/DTSes. Drove an '04 CTS and STS at a ride and drive event. Chevy: a couple '02 Cavaliers, a few late '90s Malibus, an '05 Monte Carlo, 2 '04 Impalas, 1 '05 Impala Pontiac: a dozen or so '02-04 Grand Ams, 2 '05 GPs Olds: '95 Ciera Non-Avis GM's I've driven (cars of friends and family, years ago): '68 Camaro SS 396, '76 Electra coupe, '77 Caprice, '84 Caprice, '85 S10, '87 Pontiac 6000,'87 Camaro IROC-Z, '87 Grand National, '89 Chevy Corsica, '92 Blazer, '93 Bonneville, '92 Saab 900 Turbo, '91 Park Avenue
  15. Speaking of beaters, I had a friend in college that had a worn out beater Citation that had a lot of problems...he finally gave up and parked it in a rough neighborhood in Youngstown, Ohio and hoped that someone would steal it or torch it..
  16. Since I don't have kids, I Really Don't Care what happens, as long as the next 40 years are ok..
  17. Chevy C/K1500 Silverado (my daily driver when I first got my license) Cobalt LS (rental on my honeymoon) Impala LTZ (test drive) Cadillac '06 STS (my dad's) Pontiac G6 Base (test drive... unexciting test drive... I wanted to push a V6 and they gave me the SV) Vibe (a friend's... felt like a Toyota but thankfully looked much better inside) Bonneville SLE (test drive... I wanted this car but someone got it by now sad.gif ) Saturn, GMC, Buick, Oldsmobile, Saab, Suzuki, Isuzu None, actually
  18. Sometimes when people leave a community (whether it is an online one, a job, a town, whatever) they prefer to walk on and leave it all behind..sever all ties...I can certainly understand that.
  19. Pave the earth! Pave The Earth Anyway, as long as things remain ok the next 40 years, I'll be happy...I don't really care what happens after that..
  20. The world is severely overpopulated now...I think we need mass sterilization..I don't know if there are technologies that could be use to sterilize the masses through the water supply or food, but the indiscriminate breeding needs to stop.
  21. With a couple of exceptions, it's been that way since 1997 in NA...all FWD.
  22. Yes...and BMW says the hybrid version will get 36.5 mpg in an X5...impressive. Autoweek article about X5 Vision (diesel hybrid)
  23. Like Ford has updated the Ranger since '93...a new grille, fascia, and hood every few years..
  24. True, in a world of 5000-6000lb SUVs, crossovers, and pickups, a 4000 lb car is not a big deal...
  25. As far as NY Taxis, haven't they been moving to Honda Oddeseys and Ford Escapes for a while now?
