I've been happy w/ the Michelin Defenders on my Jeep...I've put close to 20k miles on them over the last 3 years. The original Goodyear Forteras were pretty worn down at 30k miles. (assuming they were the original tires on it when I bought it with 25k miles in April '17).

I'd be happy w/ the regular R/T in Octane Red for around $40k. Only options I'd add would be the tan/black nappa/alacantra seats, Uconnect w/ NAV, sunroof, and the Harmon/Kardon audio.

I went to a local auto repair/tire store chain in 2017 when I bought a set of Michelin Defenders for my Jeep. Having such a place in walking distance from home is a plus..

I do wonder what Stellantis/PSAFCA has in mind for their US CUV strategy. Jeep is the established volume and off road CUV/SUV brand and continues to expand, Dodge is in there w/ the Durango, Alfa and Maserati dabble in performance/luxury SUVs, so where do PSA brands come into play? Some more car-like softroader CUVs? With a brand that is largely unknown in the US (Peugeot or Citroen) ? -
Agreed....when I'm considering a new car, I try to spend time studying the interior and esp. the ergonomics and sightlines...really the interior is more important to me than exterior styling, since the interior is where you are...for years. Part of why I so strongly dislike gray or all black interiors, I want some color and light inside. Things like seat adjustability and feel of the steering wheel, location of the primary controls, etc..all of that is important to me..

I like the larger V90...I think I'd be very happy with one of these and living in New England. Love the blue.

I didn’t realize there was a car in that pic until you mentioned it. Had to zoom in, looks like a ‘66-67 Continental. ‘68 moved the parking lights out of the bumper to the fender corners.

I thought that also...but the taillights threw me, only looked at pics of '39-41 Olds..but going back a year further, I see those taillights on the '38 Olds. '37 had them also.

Something from around 1938-1941, going by the bulbous shape and headlight placement. Can't read the badge on the rear. Interesting high mounted taillights. -

I haven't seen any cutaway pics of the Rivian, but I wonder how much height does the skateboard/battery pack take up of the floor? I wonder how the floor to roof distance compares to a BOF design like the Tahoe or a unibody like the Durango... Edit--found a cutaway pic of the R1S..looks like it has a flat floor.

Overall length only affects the rear cargo area. Wheelbase is more important for interior space and how the interior is situated within the wheelbase.

Length is meaningless since it includes overhangs, it's the interior space within the wheelbase that really matters..the Rivian has a 5 inch longer wheelbase than the Tahoe. But is smaller inside, it sounds like.

I couldn't care less about the 50s, but as recent as the 80s-90s there were a lot more interior color choices in mainstream cars, not just luxury cars. Lots of red interiors then also. My '86 Mustang LX had a red interior...

A lot of it is context also...in a daily driver sedan or SUV I want a light interior (not gray). In a sports car, my ideal is a two-tone like black and red.

I like these Lincoln Aviator interiors..some dark trim, but lots of light.. This Cadillac XT5 interior isn't bad either. Light interior w/ a big sunroof would be optimal. (I like lots of light in a climate w/ a lot of cloudy days).

Yeah, that lime green is gross...like athletic wear or something. I do like the cranberry red and black two tone option.

I didn’t say anything about price, not a factor. I was comparing dimensions. Seems like Rivian is more like a 3 row midsize SUV than a full size. No one is going to cross shop a Rivian with a Tahoe either. An EV customer wouldn’t be considering ICE products.

Lincoln has a nice selection of interior color choices.

Seems like GM really cheaps out on interior color choices unless you spring for an Cadillac higher trim or Corvette...too many blah black and dark gray cave interiors..
