  1. I just want to drive one some day.
  2. Just like the "I don't much care for" thread
  3. The neat thing about the nissan cvts is their ability to accelerate the car without engine rpm increasing under light medium throttle. it is the absolute most efficient way to accelerate a car. I'd say that 8 speeds are probably the top (as chrysler seems to be proving) for automatics and any more than that is just needless complexity that would be better served with a CVT.
  4. It doesn't "feel" right because it doesn't make the same engine noises as daddies car did when shifting through the gears. I didn't need much convincing, but my week with the maxima was enough to sell me on them. Of they can get the ratio spread higher, the CVT really could be the next step after they can't put more gears into the traditional automatic.
  5. The "perfect" transmission is a CVT with a wider range of ratios.... but lots of people won't drive CVTs.
  6. The new ES was supposed to blow the Lacrosse out of the water too....
  7. You mean by increasing its size to match the 5-series and E-class?
  8. you know, I don't believe I've ever heard a Corvair running. Do they have a unique sound?
  9. . Look at all the free publicity Chevy is getting out of this...
  10. What kind of fuel economy are you getting now? Any update on that?
  11. I thought all Tuckers were accounted for so there really can't be any "barn finds"
  12. As you guys know, I spend 75% of my time traveling around the eastern half of the country. I get to see more than my fair share.
  13. Cutlass... duh... gosh that Valiant and Rambler are ugly!
  14. I would enjoy seeing it. Where is the transmission located?
  15. It looks like a Lincoln Navigator that's had a personality-dectomy
  16. at least they have their hazard lights on... right? also.... I need to make a note to buy stock in Goodyear's Middle East division.....
  17. So does the engine/transmission sit entirely behind the rear wheels then? Or is there some 180 degree bend in the power flow going on? I seem to remember some eastern block, rear engined thing having a set up with the powertrain completely behind the rear wheels and reading that it has dangerous handling tendencies due to weight imbalance.
  18. That doesn't look like the SEMA car... wrong color for it.
  19. So it used a Cord Semi-Automatic transmission?
  20. They seem to be trying to turn Fiat into an Italian Mini Cooper in the US. It just might work.
  21. Suzuki could do their SUVs and trucks Mitsubishi focus on AWD/Sport.... likely with an intent to take on Subarus like the WRX... Mitsu has the heritage for this. Mazda could be a sporty bread and butter division with the Miata and RX as their halos. Use Mazda Skyactive and SkyActive-D engines all around.
  22. A CTS-V wagon and use the change left over for some super charger upgrades.
  23. Well, Mazda seems to think they are in trouble....
