  1. The 219hp is the gas only. The 227hp is the FlexFuel.
  2. What do you mean "long haul"?
  3. We should re-do this poll with a lot more car bodystyles made available. Kammback anyone? Shooting brake?
  4. There are two 3.9s. I had the lesser powerful of the two as a rental and it performs just fine. You won't be winning any drag races with 5-series, but it's nice around town. Cruising at 80 is effortless and frugal. I managed 27mpg with a trunk stuffed full of computer equipment. If I recall it was 8 PC towers and 9, 19" flat screens, plus keyboards/mice/wires, and my luggage. All of that fit in the trunk. I got 30mpg on the way back with the car unloaded. Both trips were steady 70mph-75mph range. The Lucerne is likely dead soon. It and the DTS will be going out of production to make room for Volt production. edit: Updated with link to engine information.
  5. I think it has a lot more to do with the true market conditions out there (Yes Virginia, there really is a recession for everyone except Wall St.) than it has to do with Toyota.
  6. A G-Body coupe from ANY division would have been nice after the Riv was killed.
  7. I would have like to seen what happened if GM stuck with Olds and had killed Saturn instead. The Aura would probably have been the new Intrigue. The Astra would probably have been a new Alero. Relay would have been the new Silhouette Outlook would have been the new Bravada Vue would have been a new model and they would have needed to update the Aurora with the 3.6 instead of the 3.5
  8. Why? Does it annoy you that the RX/MDX sell? They are the meat of the market.
  9. Carrera GT was built between 2005 and 2007. Have there been any sub-4 liter V8's lately? So that really means the engine is between 4.0 and 5.5. It's not the GTO, that was 5.7 Thunderbird had a 3.9 but was not available with a manual.... and was a convertible rather than a coupe.
  10. Take two of these and count backwards from 100 Hope all goes well.
  11. The E-class saved your butt MB.
  12. An International in beautiful unmolested condition. White and "That Ugly '70" green with a cap on the bed. Looked a lot like this one but not jacked up. Grill was painted white though. Has anyone seen one of these yet? Chrysler called, they want their grill back.
  13. I love the '58 Olds. In '57, I'd really rather have a Buick.
  14. You know what would be a really funny picture.... the GM 5.5 sitting next to a MB 5.5....... just so we could see the size difference.I bet SMK would lawl all over it.
  15. I'm surprised Toyota did that well.....
  16. I do agree with the reviewer's comment about the greek column sized A pillars that seem to be present on every single GM car these days.
  17. Hummer might not be done yet.
  18. I think you're confusing two C&G members with each other. This would actually be the second Avalanche sold to a C&G member this week.
  19. It's a smaller displacement version of the 3.0/3.6, but tuned for 300hp and 295 ft/lbs of torque. It was originally developed for the Saab 9-3x and will also be used on the Saab 9-4x. It's got a lot of grunt down low. Regarding the transmission lag questions: Could you describe what you're talking about? I've not experienced anything like that, however the Turbo version does use a different transmission than the 3.0 version.
  20. Hudson.... with step down design....
  21. Well, I never really had any problem with rear visibility in the CTS Wagon. Rear visibility in the SRX is a little small through the center mirror, but the large side mirrors make up for it. The SRX has more cargo room than the CTS wagon, trunk area is wider and deeper.
  22. You Tell Us: Discussion: What defunct domestic vehicle would you like to see brought back? Why and How?
  23. Chrysler Imperial, but not the hideous concept they had a few years ago.... Maybe even the brand as a whole, above Chrysler Continental, but you'd have to go back to the 60's for the concept... wouldn't want some Fox body or Taurus body re-do. Should be the crown of the Lincoln line and compete with the S-class and rumored baby Roller. Should shun 7-series "handling prowes" as beneath it. Eagle Talon. I wanted one of these so bad as a teenager. My dream cars in highschool were Cutlass Supreme Convertible or Eagle Talon. I know the Talon was just an Eclipse rebadge, but there were enough styling differences that in my eye Eagle just did better. Dodge Neon. I know they were never class leading, but Dodge sold a crapload of these things and it helped to keep Chrysler solvent. If there was one single mistake that really sealed Chrysler's fate, it was the canceling of the Neon and replacing it with the bull dog ugly Caliber. I'd like to see Chrysler solvent again, so a new Neon would be a good start. Toyota Supra, because competition for the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger is a good thing. Dodge Stealth/Mitsubishi 3000GT, ditto above. Ram Charger, because I'd like to stay on Camino's good side after recommending two FWDers and two foreign cars. Lincoln Towncar, It's not dead yet, but might as well be. Remake it as a modern car... and it could be used as the short wheel base version of the Continental mentioned above.
  24. 4 Ions in one family?
  25. Circa 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Take a look at the door panel wood insert.
