  1. I'm buying me a Lexus LS600h L F or... was that a LF600h L .... .. maybe it was a L600FLH f@#k it... I'm getting a Lexus L0L
  2. is that what your wife said?
  3. 300 for it's interior, weird ergonomics. It ends up winning because it looks aggressive and can come with a hemi. The Lucerne has a better interior, it's base V6, ancient as it is, is still better than the base V6 in the 300, and it has the Northstar V8 option. The 500/Montego has more efficient packaging than the 300, better V6, and a slightly better interior. The Avalon, better interior, powerful V6, Import <not that it matters to me, but it definitely matters to them>. the Fit is an old car in Japan that was just imported for the US market with a so/so interior. The Aveo has a better interior and about equal in powertrain, while the Versa has a better interior and a better powertrain.
  4. I think all of them except the Fit and 300c are withing the range of being best. I'm sure we'd all have minor quibbles about the rest of them, but simple fact is, they're all so close that it ends up coming down to personal preferences. Fit and 300 don't really deserve to be there though.
  5. I use http://www.cheapdomainnames.com/ for the websites I control. If nothing else, you can "park" a domain name so someone else can't take the name. That is something I recommend doing if you have a specific name in mind.
  6. My version of a GM response: That is the unfortunate nature of being the worlds largest automobile manufacturer. We sell more full size trucks than anyone else because we make them better than anyone else. Additionally, our truck lines are each at or near the top of their class in fuel efficiency. Many of our V6 sedans get mileage ratings similar to our competitors' with 4 cylinder engines. We've become a leader in hybrid technology by offering not one but two types of hybrid engine configuration. In the next 18 months we'll be offering more hybrid models than any other manufacturer. While our competitors have succeeded in make a 35mpg car into a 45mpg car, we've concentrated on areas that make more of an enviromental impact. One of our hybrid buses reduces pollution equivalent to the reduction offered by 100 Toyota Priuses. We followed that up with hybrid trucks and SUVs. A 25% increase in fuel efficiancy of t 35 mpg car saves about 6 gallons of fuel over 1000 miles. A 25% increase in fuel efficiency of a 17mpg SUV saves about 12 gallons of fuel over 1000 miles. By focusing out hybrid efforts on the vehicles that need the help the most, we feel our efforts have a greater impact on fuel savings and green house gas emissions.
  7. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
  8. no, never even seen the movie I like the earlier idea of taking the oath on the Constitution. I think that will be my choice when I run for office.
  9. Think of it this way. The old truck was better than the competition in terms of powertrain and durability. Now they've taken that and put a top notch interior into it. I thought crew cab seats were always flat up against the back of the cab.
  10. if he's not.... it's time for a clambake.
  11. I think people would have an issue with it...... since he's dead and all.
  12. He wasn't handed the keys to the country, he was handed the keys to a U.S. House of representatives district office in Michigan. just sayin...
  13. The standards will be different for the Enclave. It's going up against the RX, MDX, and maybe a bit of M-class. This concerns me.
  14. trying to force a "merger" with Nissan/Renault wasn't enough for you?
  15. Huge man.... huge.
  16. Stationary power generators <electric plants> are much cleaner environmentally than mobile power generators <car engines>.
  17. Odyssey that's been through the dryer too many times?!
  18. you have to remember, people are smaller over there.
  19. i remember this book
  20. There is no law, what so ever, that requires any elected official to swear on any specific book at all. He could have been sworn in with his hands in his pockets, or on Mein Kampf, or while making shadow bunnies. I think that swearing on the book that one holds most sacred is appropriate, and in this case that would be the Quran. but.... ponder this, would 68 get sworn into office using a GM Parts manual?
  21. Great shape for the miles
  22. Link Report: Kerkorian sells full stake in GM General Motors' Corp.'s painful process of reinventing itself apparently will continue without Kirk Kerkorian, whose ownership of almost 10 percent of the world's largest automaker failed to become a lever for the changes he sought. The Wall Street Journal, citing a person familiar with the matter, reported in Friday's edition that the billionaire investor sold his entire remaining investment in GM -- 28 million shares -- at $29.95 a share, a transaction worth more than $800 million. The newspaper reported that the shares were sold to Bank of America, a key lender to Kerkorian..
  23. but what if the looks of hybrids are keeping some people away? I'd never buy that pregnant shoebox Toyota calls Prius, but I'd buy an Avalanche Hybrid as long as they didn't change the looks. I'd buy an Aura hybrid as long as I could get one loaded with all the goodies. I think one of the most interesting hybrids possible would be an RX-8 hybrid. Low end torque from the electric motor and the freedom to rev to 12,000 rpm. No, my biggest 3 objections to the current crop of hybrids are: 1. They look like ass or 2. They look ok, but only come with minimal options available. or 3. The look good, come with decent options, but mileage advantage is minimized because they made it a sport model with a V-6. If Saturn makes an Aura XR Greenline that I can load up with every option, I'm sooooo there.
