  1. Congratulations, but that has nothing to do with reliability.
  2. Insurers <stack the deck> by requiring electronic stability control to be considered The list: LARGE CARS: Audi A-6 MIDSIZE CARS: Audi A-4, Saab 9-3, Subaru Legacy (with optional stability control) MINIVANS: Hyundai Entourage, Kia Sedona LUXURY SPORT UTILITIES: Mercedes M-class, Volvo XC90. MIDSIZE SUVs: Acura RDX, Honda Pilot, Subaru B9 Tribeca SMALL SUVs: Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester (with optional stability control) Yet GM doesn't get a mention for producing the 9-3.
  3. One also wouldn't expect one's carburetor to suddenly quit functioning after February 2008 simply because Holly decided to no longer support it.
  4. Fly, am I understanding you right that NOS's mom is having issues because she is old and worn out from having too many users?
  5. I wonder how many $19,900 Solsti Pontiac sold. If most of them were going in the upper end of the range, I don't blame GM for adjusting the price up. GM just needs to be smart and realize that someday the market for the high end models will be tapped out and they'll have to star making the lower end ones. You didn't really think that the extended warrenty was free did you?
  6. and... the stock tanks....
  7. Updated Daewoo Lanos?
  8. I can see why Onstar decided to stay with analog as long as they did. Like it or not, analog has far more coverage than any of the digital networks, it's also fairly ubiquitous. An analog phone will work, in an emergency, on any analog network available to it. On the other hand, if you're in an area where only Cingular has GSM service and Verizon's service is spotty and you have a Verizon based Onstar system, you're out of luck. The problem Onstar had was to pick a network that would be most reliable. As many of you know, which network to pick can vary greatly by geographic location. Here in Pittsburgh, we have so much coverage from all the networks that people can pick up signal on their fillings. Conversations with my parents who live in Miami and have Cingular frequently contain the phrase "... hold on, I'm going to lose you in a minute...." The best move would have been for Onstar to ignore the networks completely and partner with a handset company to make Onstar compatible handsets. Just have the connection be fairly universal using USB or bluetooth. People can pick any network they like at that point. edit: I wouldn't be surprised to see lawsuits.
  9. what does "soft marketed" mean?
  10. it's a Camry that they ran into a brick wall a few dozen times.
  11. It's a K-car on a Toyota lot, I'm guessing you could talk him down another $400.
  12. this would give room to the SLS
  13. then for $200, what are you worried about?
  14. the kinda did this with the CTS also. Since my 2004 CTS, they've changed the gauges, changed the shifter on the automatics, added a medium setting to the heated seats <previously the only settings were "tepid" and "1st degree">, upgraded the rear differential, and some external visual changes on the Sport model.
  15. haha! sorry, that line reminded me of I'm not dead yet! I think I'll go for a walk!
  16. doesn't the NG CTS go into production this time next year?
  17. There was a guy at the office named Haillong Wang, pronounced Hey-Long. but that got too many snickers so he picked himself a nickname. What does he pick? Harry of course.
  18. no lie, kid one year behind me in Highschool: Richard Craver
  19. Interestingly, that is still better mileage than a 4-cylinder RDX.
  20. why not, he's already sold out the country to chinese investment bankers.....
  21. how are Maximas doing sales wise? I rarely them around here.
  22. Maxima is heading north into Avalon territory.
  23. cause that would have been a fair fight.
  24. You don't want that 3.2. That was the original engine in the CTS and while it was modestly powerful, it had a weird idle. The best I can describe it would be a "limp".
