I think Chevy and GMC should be the only divisions with mini-vans. Chevy covers the lower end, GMC covers the high end and effectively replaces the Terazza to take on Town and Country and the high end Japs. It may not be much, but there is a class distinction between driving a Town & Country and a Caravan. A GMC minivan should be the type that comes with leather standard, bigger engine standard, DVD screen standard. A GMC Minivan Denali should be available with a V8 and some decent <bigger than the rest> tow rating. The Chevy van should only have leather available on the highest of trims. No V8 available, and less standard features. Saturn can have one if they change the interior enough, make it kinda sweedish IKEA looking on the inside... and offer it primarily as a Green-line edition.

My CTS gets it's sticker. 18 City, 27 Highway. My Avalanche gets 72mpg, downhill, with a tail wind. or 14 city 22ish highway. Problem is, I drive 99.9% city with the 'Lanche.

It's not going to be much for the guys that buy trucks for penile enlargement reasons.... but it's attractive, the powertrain <even if it's 100% carryover> is top knotch, and if the interior is like what we've seen already, it'll likely beat Ford in that department too.

It'll absolutely murder the Tundra. Anyone disappointed with their Dodge or F-150 would head here rather than Toyota..... especially since it'll likely kill the competition the same way the current one does in hauling/towing/hauling ass.

I know. I own one. I was refering to the pushrod FWD 3.5 and 3.9. We've not seen a RWD version of these engines at all. The 3.6 was designed <apparently> from the get-go to be either FWD or RWD. It needed no substantial modifications to be used in the LaCross or Rendevous.

Have we even seen a longitudinal 3.5 or 3.9 yet? Appartently it's quite hard to switch around an engine that wasn't designed to go both ways. It took a fairly substantial redesign to put the N* into the new STS and XLR.

Chas gets about 18mpg city in his V6 Passat mostly because he drives it like he stole it. When I drive it, I get 23 city.
