1. Do you ever shut up?
2. Oddly, there is a device out there that'll do that..... at least for the occupants of the vehicle.
3. I thought this was going to be a follow up to the plane on a grocery belt thread.
4. I've been. I've battled the depression demon for years. I went to a therapist for about a year and every time I went, she'd increase my anti-depressents. I don't think she was very effective as anything other than a prescription writer. Eventually the anti-depressents got so strong that I was in a fog every day. I would get lost at work <we only had two hallways>. I would get in the car to go someplace and forget where I was going. One time I was dazed and backed my car through a fence. All of that, and the depression was still there. Over a particularly depressing christmas holiday in Miami, I was talking to my mom about my situation. She decided she wanted me to call my therapist and ask for another increase in the drugs. At that point I lost it completely. I resolved to never take another anti-depressant.* I got back to Pittsburgh. Joined a gym and hired a personal trainer and began working out daily. I changed my diet to a much healthier one. We have very little sunlight here in Pittsburgh and sunlight is considered a treatment for depression. So I bought a tanning package and began going 2-3 times a week. I also made sure I got enough sleep at night.... which wasn't hard to do since I was working out daily, my body would force me to sleep. After about a month of this, I felt better than I ever had. My opinion? Therapists that simply prescribe drugs are quacks. If you go to a therapist and they suggest drugs in the first session, that should send you walking back out the door. Many times, sitting down and evaluating what you are doing to yourself and your body can be more revealing than going to a therapist. *One should never quit anti-depressent drugs cold turkey. What I did was dangerous. Always consult your doctor before making changes to your drug regimen.
5. uhm.. I did have the choice between a CTS or a 9-3, <amongst many others> and it was the interior of the 9-3 that I didn't care for. Knock the CTS all you want, but it's very ergonomic and has held up quite well, but most of all, I feel very comfortable in the CTS. I never did figure out what the full numeric keypad in the saab was for since it apparently didn't interface with the Onstar.
6. Actually, I was being sarcastic..... I'm much more in the divisional camp. I feel that platform sharing is ok... in the same division. at least on the car level, I don't think there'd be a point for trucks. For example, Cadillac gets all of it's cars on Sigma. Buick gets all it's cars on Zeta Pontiac gets all it's cars on Kappa Chevy gets all it's cars on Epsilon or Delta <except corvette> and maybe picks a plateform from one other division for it's top sedan/coupe. Chevy, GMC, Cadillac and Hummer trucks/suvs would continue as is.....
7. How about getting rid of the "Brands" all together. You no longer buy a Buick Lucerne or Cadillac DTS.... you buy a GM Lucerne or a GM Lucerne Touring Sedan. You no longer buy a Chevy Malibu, Maxx, Pontiac G6, or Saab 9-3. Buy a GM Malibu, Malibu Maxx, Malibu Sport, or Malibu EuroSport You no longer buy a Chevy Impala, Pontiac Grand Prix, or Buick LaCross You buy a GM Impala, Impala SS, or Impala LS
8. I can drive it all day and all night, still not going to change it's looks. <unless I run it into a pole a few times.> e.i. it looks like a 3-series wagon on stilts.... and that the tailgate fails to match the rest of the rear in anyway except color.
9. GM Goodwrench plus gives you lifetime warrenty if you do it at the dealer.... but at 250k miles, I'm not sure that'd be a worry.
10. cranks are lighter weight....
11. 3-series wagon on stilts
12. I use my Avalanche almost exclusivly for hauling/towing. I keep all my tools locked in the bed for when I'm doing repairs at an apartment building. I have my CTS for all non-hauling/towing needs.
13. 1. Bluetooth integration - major luxury feature. I want to be able to use handsfree without having to have a seperate OnStar voice calling account. 2. AWD - I live in the north east.... enough said. 3. More than 3 settings on the heated seats - Rheostats have been around since what, 1910? I need settings other than just Tepid and Broil. 4. A major shift away from wishy washy colors! If there is any debate as to what the color is <ie, a greenish blue, no wait, a blueish green> toss it. Vivid and bold. The color palet of the corvette should be lifted directly. 5. An optional non- V-series V8. Personally, I like the idea of the 5.3 with AFM and FFV. 6. Rain sensing wipers - already standard or optional on much lesser cars. 7. Rear LEDs - it's almost becoming a signature to see the slender verticle LED tail lights and know immediately it's a Cadillac.
14. GM is steaming in the right direction. It takes a long time to turn the Titanic..... but Buickman is still out there paddling the other way.
15. Didn't Kirk try to sue DCX over the merger?
16. It's because Buickman has been around a lot more than normal recently.
17. The advantage of course is weight savings. Those steel wheels are slightly lighter than normal steel wheels, which in turn are MUCH lighter than alloys. And if you can't tell the dif without touching them, who gives a $h!? And if you get curb rash on one of them..... it is substantially cheaper to replace.
18. How many brands to they sell over there? I know Buick and some Cadillacs are sold there, but what else?
19. Maybe Hyundai/Kia should be worried. Toyota is eating GM, Hyundai is eating Toyota, the Chinese will eat Hyundai.
20. I don't know if the whole post was a cut-paste job, but I wanted to address this point. 1. Who's to say that a man can't be a nester or a woman can't be a predator? 2. Who's to say that two predators or two nestors can't understand each other's nature enough to work together? Personally, I'd consider both me and my partner to be 75% predator and 25% nester. We've come to an understanding of each other's needs and don't let that interfer with our love for each other.
21. More vivid color choices. I'd like to see the following: Arrest me Red Corvette Yellow British Racing green Carribien Blue Traffic cone orange
22. The DTS's handling is entirely appropriate for it's class.
23. last gen Aurora, GTO, GMT-900s, all are superior to the 9-3 in my book.....
24. Can't in a Saab... not with that new fangled key they have.
