  1. I think the implication from the article is that it should have the same capability as a standard ICE drivetrain.
  2. This, exactly, is why 0-60 doesn't matter as much. It's why the Impala feels faster than an 8-second 4-cylinder. It's why some of these 2.0Ts with mediocre peak torque still feel fast when paired with a 9-speed automatic. Heck, even my Encore feels perky when just being driven around town.... it's pulling onto the freeway that its pathetic 138 lb.-ft is really noticed.
  3. Jeep is looking to add a plug-in hybrid variant of the Jeep Wrangler sometime in 2020. It will join the lineup next to the Pentastar V6, a Turbocharged inline-4 cylinder, and a newly added Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel. The plug-in hybrid version is a way to get consumers used to an electrified Wrangler, says Jeremy Acevedo, senior manager of insights for Edmunds. "If the Wrangler, arguably the most iconic SUV on the road, can pull off a plug-in hybrid, I think that it does give credibility to this technology having some merit beyond efficiency if it is truly a great off-roader [and] if it does carry that torch well.", Acevedo said. The Wrangler Hybrid should please those environmentally conscious consumers who still want to go off-road. Jeep has yet to share any performance characteristics, but says that capability won't be a problem. A hybrid powered Jeep will have more low-speed torque to deal with off-road challenges, yet still have improved fuel efficiency when on the pavement. Jeep expects that the hybrid powered Wrangler will appeal to a younger consumer. Meanwhile, Jeep dealers say there is pent up demand for the diesel Wrangler with consumers dropping by show rooms asking if it is available yet. View full article

  5. Even in my car with a 0-60 that can be measured with a sundial, I rarely ever floor it. I have to disagree with the idea that an 8 second car is slow. Big old RWD Chevy Impalas are 8 second cars and they are way more than the average driver can handle anyway. Part of that is because of the torque they've got.
  6. ^^^ Clearing out the 2019s for the 2020s to arrive.
  7. I'd rather see what the car does at half throttle, but the manufacturers have already found a cheat for that.
  8. GM Packaging really is odd.
  9. What did you end up paying?
  10. Very nice! Glad to see them sell.
  11. 0 to 60 doesn't matter because you don't go around flooring it all the time
  12. take pics!
  13. My point is that GM uses its other brands to fill niches (when needed, thankfully no crossover coupes yet). That's why Buick has a wagon and a hatchback. That's why GMC has a luxury line. The GMC Yukon Denali XL and the GLS are only $1000 apart on base price, Escalade stars $5k higher The GLB will likely overlap quite a bit with the Terrain Denali. ... that's why GMC is relevant.
  14. I mean, if I wanted to get petty, I could point out that GMC sells 25% - 30% of its lineup as a Denali, which is mostly a chrome and leather package that cost $5k. Yet Denali sales alone outsell all of Lincoln, or Jaguar Land Rover. Cadillac is not and will never be a full line brand that has to cover every niche. GM has other brands to do that with.
  15. Quoted from that link:
  16. They'll probably depreciate hard and you can get a CPO one for a song.
  17. Ah! But they count the 43s as AMG also.
  18. And show me... how many GLA45s have actually been sold. I've never seen one outside an auto show and I travel quite a bit. I've only ever seen a small handful of CLA45s. Only the XTS had just a V-Sport. ATS-V ATS-V Coupe CTS-V CTS-V Coupe CT6-V
  19. Cadillac had the XTS V-Sport But seriously, Cadillac had V or V-Sport versions of all their cars... just not the SUVs because I mean really, who'd buy an XT5-V anyway?
  20. Handling. The Alpha chassis is one of the best out there for it. That's not a new thing either. The first gen CTS-V would beat an M3 around a track even though it was M5 sized.
  21. Yeah, I subscribe to Britbox and I'm set for a while on shows to catch up on. I'm only partway through Midsomer because each episode is so long. I really enjoyed Vera and I"m just about to finish Elementary.
  22. No, not into reality shows either. I like crime drama... Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Law and Order and the like.
  23. No, I never did watch such trash...
  24. You won't fit in it.
  25. wtf is jabroni
