Q3 2019: Ford Motor Company
It's a lot of fun! I've tried the dual clutch AWD in the Acadia All-Terrain. It's unremarkable. It's mostly there to save fuel, so the only time you'd really see any difference is fueling up after a long trip.

Please Stop Using CVT Transmissions!
As with all things, DSGs have good models and bad models. The Focus you mentioned was recalled and had an extended warranty on it. CVTs tend to last longer on vehicles with less torque, that's why you see them in little cars like the Venue and Kicks and not big vehicles like Explorer or trucks. I think the Nissan Pathfinder is the largest production vehicle with a CVT. Some CVTs are reliable, some aren't.

Q3 2019: Ford Motor Company
It was at a drive event that Ford was one of the sponsors. They probably brought vehicles that have been gone over. I'll be driving the XT6 on Thursday along with the Enclave Sport Touring

I drove the Aviator and Explorer back to back last week (reviews to come)…. and aside from dimensions they have very very different personalities.

Q3 2019: Ford Motor Company
Yeah, but they're not continuing with Continental in a few years and the MKZ will probably go when the Fusion dies. That makes Lincoln an all SUV brand. I drove a C 43 AMG Cabrio last week and the exhaust note on that thing is fantastic when the helm gets the "all ahead full" command.

Please Stop Using CVT Transmissions!
A DSG is a different animal than an automatic. It would be more accurate to describe it as an "Automatically shifting manual transmission". They're good for sports cars, but they have their faults in situations like stop and go traffic where they can get grabby and jittery.

Random Thoughts Thread
"Ran when parked" So some of you know I'm driving my FiL's Cruze from time to time. I took it on a trip to Virginia today and it's not a bad car for long distance cruising. It's the base LS with a 1.8 liter, but it still cruised at 75 - 85mph and returned 34 mpg

Chevrolet News:Chevy Previews the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
Ahead of the 2019 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Chevrolet gave us a preview of the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. After the refresh, the Colorado will show greater differentiation from trim to trim. All Colorados will feature embossed Chevrolet tailgates instead of the rear bowtie badge. The bowtie up front will be revised. The WT, LT, and Z71 will get updated center bars, lower fascias, and front skid plates for 2021. The WT and LT get gold bowties while the Z71 gets a black one. The ZR2 off-road variant gets a new look (shown above), and will be the only Colorado to get a lettered front fasica. The ZR2 continues to get Multimatic DSSV Position senstitive dampers, standard front and rear locking differentials, 2-inch suspension lift, 3.5 inch wider track, off-road rocker protection, cast iron control arms, autotrac transfer case, multiple skid plates, and now standard red tow hooks. Over 520,000 Colorado pickups have been built to date. The Colorado will continue to be built at GM's Wentzville Plant and the 2021 will go on sale midway through next year. View full article
