  1. It's not just that. They didn't put the work into the suspension that is really needed for something with that amount of power. I don't see the CTS-V on that list, but I bet it would wipe the floor with a Hellcat because of all the work Cadillac put into the suspension. There's only 200lbs difference between the two in curb weight.
  2. Handling. Trying to get that thing around a corner without wiping out is a challenge, so they probably had to slow it down.

  4. A V6 Camaro is 0.5 seconds behind a Charger Hellcat?! A V8 Camaro is 8.7 seconds ahead of a Charger Hellcat?!
  5. Depends on the Acura. I would say that no Acura currently built exceeds the 2017 Encore on interior quality, but there are more than a few Acuras that don't even measure up to it, including those priced well above the Encore's entry point.
  6. It's overly simplistic to say it.... but a $35k loaded Encore is really just a $15k Sonic with about $10k in upgrades. GM's gotta be making lots of profit on these cars.
  7. She'll want to wait till at least the 2017 model. The 2016s that are sitting on lots today don't have Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto. I think the Encore is taking a hit because it's about to get its refresh.

  9. It's a very tough choice for me as I can see myself in either the ATS or C300. What I think would way me to the Benz is the availability of Airmatic.
  10. I wish Toyota would include "Basic driver's common sense school" or "Drivers Refresher Course 101 for those 55 and older" with any Corolla, Camry, or Avalon purchase...... I upgraded my Toronado to the vintage B-Body 4-note horn (super loud and angry sounding) a couple weeks ago... I got to use it today to "encourage" a woman in a Corolla to accelerate instead of stop when getting onto the interstate.
  11. Better low end torque and fuel economy. The Enclave would do well with an optional 3.0TT engine and it would naturally carry over into an Acadia Denali Ultimate, Cadillac XT5 and eventual XT6 The current motors just have to be wound up too high to get the beasts moving, and it hurts fuel economy in the process. Sorry @Paolino.. we highjacked your thread about your new car. How is the low end torque on the Hyundai 3.8 liter? I've only driven the 5.0, but I understand the 3.8 is excellent on power.

  16. Well that's still not a styling cue used in any car I can think of today... and certainly not any car that has used that cue since at least 1934.

I'm re-opening this thread because it was a fun one. @Intrepidation is correct about the P-38 being the original inspiration for the fins, it doesn't matter that other aeroplanes had dual rear stabalizers, it was the P-38 that inspired the idea. I've been familiar with the story and knew exactly what he was talking about right in the first post. I've been contemplating a story in my head about the Cadillac fins/blades as a design signature for a while now. It is one of only 2 design themes that I can think of that have lasted as many decades. Edit: And also... keep it civil. There is no need to argue like children over the answer to a trivia question. To Further the thread. I mentioned that the Cadillac fins and blades were only one of two that I could think of that have been around for so long and still in use today. I don't know the original inspiration for the other one, but who can tell me what it is? Here are some clues: It's at the other end of the car. It debuted on a production car at least 7 years prior to Harley Earl's trip to see the P-38. I do not know the inspiration for the cue, but it may or may not be aircraft related. The cue is still in use today and has been consistently since debut. It is not a badge, but it is so associated with this brand, that it might as well be.
  19. Some day I'll get back to PC building again... I just have a Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop for work and an HP Elitebook for personal. I have an older Lenovo X220 sitting around that I might try and turn into a hackintosh just for the fun of it.

  21. It'd be either the Benz coupe or the ATS coupe. BMWs just don't do it for me.
  22. That's called responsive design. If you look at it on a mobile device, the right column goes away and falls in line under the main news feed.
