Except they have a huge start in China, which might just keep them out of the gutter.- 25 replies

Hmmm. Interesting. If you are in contact with either of the artists, you might let them know that their work is being used without credit at a major commercial website and they should probably take action against them. Both examples are being used as "stock photos" for their respective models at Swapalease.com

VW isn't known for making rational decisions for segment entries.- 25 replies

Again, what the "trait" is, is the same among all three groups. For example (and this isn't it) Group 1 all has 3 spoke steering wheels. Group 2 all has 2 spoke steering wheels, Group 3 all has 3 spoke steering wheels.

Think VW is trying to go for the Avalon crowd?- 25 replies

Sounds like an S-Class. They lose an entire E-class in depreciation after 3 years. ($55k)

You first one may be true, but not what I'm going for. you're getting very slightly warmer with your second one. I'll put it another way - Each car in each group shares a trait with the other cars in that group. When you figure out what the trait is for one group, you'll figure out the how the other groups relate to each other as well. I'm having a hard time giving hints without giving it away.
-
Nope. Keep in mind, these are three separate lists with each list sharing a common trait.

eek... I wonder if that was wrecked. Carfax won't have a report of it if it was a rental.

Any AWDs? I think they were all FWD. Doing a quick search on Cars.com, I'm seeing a few in the same price range. I did notice that all the 2.0T are noted as "Turbo/e-assist", though. I thought it was the other way around...? Edit: Looking around at Buick's website, with the e-assist as an option, Cars.com must just lump the option with that trim level because those are definitely the 2.0T and not e-assist. 2014 Buick Regal $19,461 Cars.com 2014 Buick Regal $19,588 Cars.com 2014 Buick Regal $19,990 Cars.com Yeah, I'm wondering if that's what Reg was seeing. The eAssist Regals are exceedingly rare. You almost have to factory order one if you want one.

Can you post some examples? I'm not seeing them around me. 2014 was supposed to be the first year of no 2.4 base, only 2.4 eassist and 2.0t

I wonder if this is the predecessor to the Phaeton coming back to the US. The Genesis must make Wolfsburg seethe with jealously and bitterness.- 25 replies

They're quiet. No more hustle then a standard 2.4 liter once you get rolling, but you can feel a little more kick in the 0-25mph range. The electric boost gives them that low end torque feel of a turbo or grunty V6... but it goes away as the rpms increase. forget about trunk space.

Do you guys think it looks wagony? I'm seeing a lot of that on the interwebs, but not sure that I agree.
-
Not even the technology Balth? The thing will drive itself up to speeds of 37mph. Fuel economy numbers look to be very good as well, but at the moment they are based on the Euro cycle which is a bit optimistic compared to the US numbers.

Yeah, but even when you option it up, the door panels and dash plastics don't change. The weight of the tin-can feeling doors doesn't change.- 25 replies

It doesn't look bad by any means... It is just a slightly chunkier Audi wagon with some of the new bits from the TT and Q3. The problem is that Audi has been tweaking the same design for 10 years now. Each new model becomes slightly edgier, adds more LEDs, and starts to look more and more like vanilla. I think the A7 was the last interesting looking Audi to debut. As someone who has always favored Audi, I'm starting to find less and less to like in the looks department. Yeah, I can see that. For me, the Q7 finally gained enough flair to be interesting to me.

It looks so in that pic, but the interior is only a marginal upgrade over the US spec model in materials and design. At best I'd call it "Almost a CC". I wouldn't consider it very premium.- 25 replies
