  1. ... it's also called "magnetic ride control" dwight.
  2. That's exactly the reason to sell it here. If it looks too wagony... it might not sell.
  3. Your mom better call Audi and have them examine the car.... it is likely the only Audi over 100k miles.... or even over 60k miles that has no squeaks or rattles. You're driving an orphan that was an orphan when it was sold and it was sold by a company that, in the strictest of legal terms, no longer exists today. My mother beat the hell out of her Aurora of the same generation, it survived 2 accidents with the 3rd one being terminal.. yet it put in over 200k miles even with her poor care of the vehicle. She sold it to her employee who ran it a few more months before running it without oil and blowing the motor.
  4. +1 A friend of mine has an '83 S-class... it's no more luxurious than my Toronado and in some areas the build quality of my car is much better (no visible screw heads in the dashboard or on most exterior lighting. The 3.8 liter V8 is no match for even the wheezy 307 and the diesel engine in the Benz made the Olds 350 diesel look like a V-series Cadillac. Is the 1983 380SEL a nice car? Sure.... but GM was still doing better interiors at one of their lowest points in history than Benz was doing at the same time, so the value of spending all that extra money for a Benz over even a Buick or Oldsmobile isn't all that clear to me.
  5. 3.5 million? That's a lot of Taxis and Black Cars. The Crown Vic and Town Car better look out.
  6. The amount of noise the 3.6 makes seems to depend on the car it is installed in. In the Cadillac XTS and Buick Lacrosse, it is fairly hushed. The 2013 Impala you drove has been dumbed down a bit and might have sound insulation removed as it is fleet only. The 2014 is an entirely different car, but yes it will have the 3.6 optional and the 2.5 liter 4-cylinder standard.
  7. The X5 will probably get the same diesel the 5-series is getting.
  8. Focusing on your first core product is a good thing.
  9. Sheets of drywall/plywood. Not useful for a home builder of course, but a smaller contractor who only needs a dozen or so at a time and needs to keep them dry....
  10. The Toronado hasn't been run since mid-December when she was put away for running very poorly. Sometime this week I'm going to limp her over to a former Chevy/Oldsmobile dealer who's owner is a member of the local OIds club and his mechanics have experience with this vintage 307. After that is done, I'll need to assess the list for the spring. My biggest problem is time. I'm traveling 50% of the time until June.
  11. Freightliner Sprinter AMG? How do they get to that "30" number any other way... unless they are counting sub-models like wagons and convertibles separately?
  12. Keeping the balance in this car is key. If they can't keep the weight distribution the same, they'll ruin what they've got going so far.
  13. Why not I guess.... someone's gotta buy the MKS.
  14. You could do blog on the long term ownership of this car. Users can now set up their own blogs here. The Beetle TDI is on my short list for potential vehicle purchase for myself this year. It really depends on how certain other things pan out if I decide I need a truck or not.
  15. Great buy! Only one problem.... will you actually keep it long enough for the engine to ever get broken in while you own it?
  16. might need to do an analysis up against the Econoline, Transit, Savanna/Safari, and whatever the Nissan is called.
  17. I drove a JX35 as a rental for a week, sandwiched between a week with a Traverse and a week with an Enclave. Let me just say that anyone that buys the JX over either of the Lambdas has some serious irrational anti-GM feelings going on. The Traverse with Leather is more than the JX's equal and the Enclave simply blows it out of the water.
  18. Congrats! I've loved driving the Beetle and loved the TDI... never had them in the same vehicle
  19. Welcome back!
