  1. Saw a G5, it was excitement!
  2. roast
  3. I do check my email from my phone, but I wouldn't say I'm addicted. Most of the time when I'm doing something work related on my phone its either via text or call. I'd love to get push-to-talk sometimes, but other times I think I would hate it. The new Blackberry (Storm?) is a very intriguing phone.

  7. My sister has a Liquid Silver GP. The supercharged 3800 gets like 18mpg under her heavy foot. The Prius is gone in a matter of months, the Mini needs to be built and shipped.

    Iceland

Dude! Now I just need $80,000 for a suite. And my plan to move to Iceland was shot down, although a vacation there wasn't ruled out.

    Iceland

I'm thinking its because I've been listening to an insane amount of Bjork lately, but I'd like to visit Iceland. And would even consider moving there, if I felt the need to leave the country. I realize its pretty much the last place on earth anybody would ever go, but has anyone ever been? And on a completely different subject, why cant I find a cruise that boards in New York or Miami, then goes around the friggen world? Circumnavigating the globe on a cruise ship would be sweet. Time consuming, but sweet.
  10. It may only be for drivers between 16-21, or whatever the ages are for graduated licensing. They can fine someone with an intermediate license if they're between 16-18 and have more than one passenger under age 19 for the first 6 months or more than 3 passengers under 19 until they get their full license.
  11. In Bakersfield on 10/8/2007, gas was appx. $2.88. You'll have to re-enter the info below the graph. You can go back between 1 month and 6 years and look at national average (USA and Canada) as well as the prices in several cities.
  12. The huge, ginormous problem with selling Saab (or Hummer, for that matter) is that nobody has any money right now. GM wants to unload the brands to raise cash, but that requires a buyer.
  13. MO law used to be that a seatbelt violation was an add-on, but now it can be the sole offense. They can even issue the driver a ticket if their passengers (front or rear) aren't belted.
  14. Finding historic gas prices is a PITA. Edit: Its all in what you Google, I guess. Weekly retail gas prices from 04/1993 until 11/2008. National average for all grades was below $1.00 for a few months in early 1999.
  15. They were all set up on 4-lane roads heading away from town, the nearest one to the pub crawl was 6 miles away. While there was a police presence, if they had wanted to do a real public service, they would have had sobriety checkpoints closer to downtown, where there were 20,000 people drinking. I'm willing to bet most of the arrests they made were for outstanding warrants and most of the tickets they issued were seatbelt violations or possibly posession, neither of which is a crime worthy of a police checkpoint.

    Pictures!

Please, please, please tell me you use Aquanet.
  17. We had a few sobriety checkpoints Halloween night, but they announced them about a week in advance and none of them were actually around the "bar district" or near heavily populated areas where a lot of children would be out walking.
  18. I remember when it was kind of a big deal that gas went over $1 in the Chicago suburbs, but that was early-mid 90's, the first time I came down here in '97 I was amazed at how cheap gas was.
  19. Totally making banana-chocolate chip pancakes today.
  20. Really? I dont recall telling anyone.
  21. I put "dickhead" on an epitaph after a particularly unsuccessful game of Oregon Trail.
  22. Too many casinos, we're trying to decide. I intended to go to Buffalo Run (Miami), but a bad experience by our traveling partners rules that out. So it will be to one of the ones right on the border, either Bordertown or Downstream.
  23. Heated seats are necessary with leather, I've never felt them to be too vital with cloth.
  24. A lot will depend on how those infernal women are feeling when the bodies of the far superior men wear down after 3.5 hours in the car, 5+ hours of football, another 3 hours in the car and a couple hours of gambling. They get it easy, they're just going straight to the casino, which is like an hour and a half from here. We'll probably end up staying, I'd prefer coming straight home because I have to get around to doing some work related stuff that I've been putting off. Now that I think about it, the Prius makes a livable tent....
  25. Everyone is talking about going shopping at 4 tomorrow morning, because my entire family is dumb. I'm looking forward to Saturday, I'm getting up in the very a.m. hours to drive to Kansas City with a friend of mine for the Border War, then we're driving very very fast to Oklahoma to meet his wife and my fiancee at a casino for what promises to be a great night of gambling, followed by either a pricey hotel stay of a very tired drive home.
