The Astra has too many negatives for me. Horrible outward visibility with the 3-door, and the 5-door is too plain looking. The Cooper also has more front headroom. And its also a lot cooler.

I managed to solve the computer problem without spending any money. Unfortunately I had to do a full system restore. Stupid computers. I guess I just lost track of time, because I forgot how old this thing is. It didn't come with SP2 installed, so stupid iTunes wont install so now I have to wait for stupid SP2 to dl and install before I install iTunes then get to go through the fun task of importing the eleventy-billion music files off my external harddrive.

Why not gut the Jag and use it for a barrel fire, like homeless people do?

Some extra power would be nice. Just being able to maintain highway speedson a 5% grade would be nice. I cant complain too much considering the engine is an absolute trooper, it keeps going and going.

A few random tibits regarding a new engine. I found a Cutlass on Craigslist that had a good 307, the kicker is that the car also came with a complete 403 that needed to be assembled. $850 and gone before I could give it a serious thought. But I found out last week that my friend's mom inherited a Delta 88 that looks like $h! but runs great. He wasn't sure which engine it had, its either a 307 or 350. In the spring, I'll see if I can pry it out of her hands.

According to gasbuddy, gas was $3.07 a year ago.

$1.45 about an hour and a half west of me. I actually dont know what the state gas tax is off the top of my head. I know that there is a state law requiring all gas be 10% ethanol, which could be helping keep the price down.

I dont see the downside. Unless the only clients you get are elderly and/or morbidly obese.

Towing them in sends the message that they dont trust the cars to make it under their own power, which isn't the message you want to send American taxpayers whose money you want to borrow.

Actually, Rick rode in an Escalade from the airport to the capital. I didn't see eleventy-billion HYBRID stickers on it, so it was probably a normal one.

The C3 lived too long, but the curves still appeal to many people. The early C4s had the 205hp L83 and rode terribly, not to mention 4+3. The later cars, especially the ZR-1, Grand Sport and million other special editions will always have a place in the heart of every Vetteophile.
