  1. Pssssht...facts just get in the way. Besides, it easier to say "I wont vote for a guy who is close with a domestic terrorist" than it is to say "I wont vote for the black guy." I'm going to be accused of playing the race card, but what the hell. The madrassa thing has been debunked. The Ayers thing doesn't hold water. Rezko could be in play, but that doesn't get the "ignorant fear gland*" going the way tenuous terrorist ties do. *Ignorant fear gland: Using the one-two punch of terrorists and taxes to scare people into voting for a phantom agenda, exploited by Republicans for years
  2. Its not fights in school, its childish temper tantrums in the United States Senate.
  3. I dont know how McCain would be as president, but he is horrible as a candidate for the office. He'd be better off if I were running his campaign and I dont particularly like the guy or his ideas. Given McCain's alleged temper, I'm waiting for him to say Obama can fo f*ck himself or something. Google "McCain temper" and you'll see some stories of him lashing out at other Senators. If you're really lucky, you'll read about him calling his wife a c*nt after she criticized his hair.
  4. Where was our "ZR-1 SHELVED!" headline? I'm disappointed in the news team here at The Gm Sou.....oh, wait...nevermind.
  5. I though up a potential scam related to McCain's mortgage buyback plan. Buy a house for, oh lets say $1.5 million. Have it appraised for some ridiculously low amount, say $60,000. You get to live in a $1.5 mil house for like $600/month, then when the credit crunch eases up, sell the house for some ridiculously large mount, lets say $2.5 million. The government can have their $1,440,000 back and I walk away with a million in profits after living however long in a really spendy house for about what a decent 3-bedroom apartment would cost per month. Edit: I realize there are a ton of flaws, but its fun to scheme.
  6. Oh, and a "steady hand at the tiller" wouldn't be running a psychotic ADHD campaign centered around making big splashes (Palin, suspending campaign) to be the top story in the news.
  7. Thats assuming people hold on to their homes long enough for the value to increase. If the government eats $40,000 up front, but the house only sells for a $10,000 gain, the government is out $30,000, unless we get into some sort of government mortgage perpetuity deal where a house has to be mortgaged through the Treasury until the loss is recouped.
  8. I think its a bad idea that will cost the government a lot of money. Lets say a person has a $200,000 mortgage, the government buys it, then its determined that the house is worth $160,000. Thats a $40,000 loss, and absolutely no financial gain.
  9. CNN's post-debate coverage also seems a little drunken. Who knew that Tuesday was the big day for absinthe.
  10. Wow, I wouldn't be surprised if Brokaw cuts himself tonight, it seemed like the debate was more stressful for him than for either candidate.
  11. Policy wise, there is nothing new, but McCain uses the phrase "my friends" way too much.
  12. Tom needs more power. Either cut off the mic or have play-off music like the Oscars.
  13. He does sound a bit drunk, and he's acting drunk, yelling at the candidates and whatnot.
  14. Isn't that the opposite of reducing spending?
  15. They will run forever, I'm not denying that. The mechanicals seem solid. Its the body/suspension that always seemed weak. Not weak like "Its going to break if I hit a curb" more like "how many salty winter will it take?" weak.
  16. Not surprised, neither generation seemed really sturdy.

  18. Flex, without a question. Why anyone would buy a Traverse is beyond me. The Acadia isn't much more expensive and is better looking. A base Enclave is about what the LT2 runs.
  19. Yay for the $75 Yay for your cousin liking the PT (I didn't like the one I drove, the glovebox door falling off didn't help, but I can see the appeal of them) Boo for the dead Tracker, I have an awkward soft spot for them.
  20. My son is the same way. I pulled up to his daycare today and he was standing by the door, I was him light up when he saw my car. He started climbing all over me the second I walked in. Kids are so cool, congrats on adding another one to the stable 68, I hope everything with the pregnancy and delivery go well and you have a happy, healthy baby girl to show off and lord over childless couples. Not that I condone insulting the infertile.
  21. I'm not expecting much of substance from this debate, since there wont be any real debating. The candidates will get questions from the audience and the internet, and answer them. They wont address each other (not that they addressed one another last time) and probably wont get follow-up questions from the moderator.

    McCain's trend

    sword fight?
  23. They would have to find someone willing to buy it.

They could play chess. Or checkers. Or Halo 3.
  25. I wonder how much it was purchased for new. Wikipedia says they built 107 Cabra Rs in 1993, but doesn't give pricing info. Edit: I only ask cause I'm pretty sure dealers were scumbags back then too, so this thing had to have been marked up.
