  1. Apperently it must cost them too much...idiots. Looks like Ford may end up getting my business if GM keeps this up.
  2. And those aholes in Europe are supposed to bet better at designing cars...please, pass the vanilla, I am not buying.
  3. Exactly, I have seen a grand total of 2 AZZtra since it's intoduction, 1 where I live in Antioch and the other in San Luis Obispo, California. I'd say it is a flop and we get all this nonsence of how Holden/Pontiacs don't sell..and this coming from a former Saturn owner. Saturn and Opel are the brand they should kill not Pontiac.
  4. "I was just following orders" thats what the Nazis said at the Nuremberg Trials...
  5. Thanks Oldsmoboi. I forgot the Prius clone was the new Insight. So it looks like the Insight and the Clarity will have similar shapes. If all new cars will look like this (this jelly bean aero shape), we are heading for a dull phase in car design as far as I can see.
  6. The Honda Insight is no longer sold in the USA unless I missed somewhere and Honda is bring it back. Speaking of Honda. Did anyone see the witch Jamie Lee Curtis touting her Honda FCX Clarity and how she was an unofficial ambassador for the car. Leno remarked that the car might do 100 mph if it fell off a cliff. I hate these stupid "green" celebrities and wish they would get off their pulpits. That is perhaps why I began hating celebrities a couple of years ago, who made them the experts?
  7. Mikey like. I think it looks nice as far as hybrids go. And I actuallu like how they faked the lower greenhouse effect with the Black Gloss trim. It makes the car stand out a bit, though I suspect this area will wear unevenly if I go by whats happeded to the shiny black triangle on the sides of my Trans Am windows and the semi gloss black side window pillars on my wife's Lexus RX300. As far as the grill, I like that as well...it sort of gives a solar panel affect to what would be a somewhat boring and non discript grill. It also looks like the newer Chevy line up and looks like it belongs to the family.
  8. See, I would have guessed wrong because with RS, I would have assumed a Camaro since I am an F-body fan.
  9. That is a clever name, I like the thought process that went into. It's sort of like companies who take two words and blend them at a common letter and come up with their product name.
  10. Cool replies, now I know a little more of the members I chat with. It's obvious some of us have an attachment to one of the brands ( and we know some history of our cherished brand) and I can see how some off us get defensive when talk about killing our brand is involved. Lately there has been too much talk about killing Buick or Pontiac. I hope GM can see that killing a brand is not a good idea. Keep the responses coming...I am very interested.
  11. Well i am from the bay area. i have to agree with your remarks, though i am not driving an overated foriegn garbage ( but my wife does). I prefer to drive what the locals call my white trash Trans Ams.
  12. How can I forget, definitly props to the 421 SD. I have a soft spot for the 455 because I would like to add a73 SD455 Trans Am to my stable.
  13. We did. I guess my search functions weren't precise enough.
  14. I did not know where to post this topic. Mods feel free to re-assign the topic. I was always curious about why members chose the call sign for cheers and gears. While some are obvious, others can be a bit more cyptic, while others use just their name. It would be fun to find out a bit more about the C & Gers. I will start off with my sign in name and it's easy once you see my prferred mode of transportation. PrinzSD Prinz = part of my last name Prinzivalli SD = the famed and best motor Pontiac made, the legendary Super Duty 455, hence SD.
  15. Not only have I seen 2 M6s, my sister owns one. I have yet to drive.
  16. That coupe is supposed to excite me. While the driving dynamics might be impressive, I can think of several other coupes for 100,000 large ones that are more appealing to me. Maybe I can my sister to trade in her M6 Cabrio for this..hehe.
  17. Of the entire Acura line up, the current TL has always pleased my eyes. The problem I had with it for the longest time was I could not remember what the model designation was, often confusing myself and calling it RL. Pretty embassing when talking car shop with others. Alphanumeric names suck. I finally got tired of not remembering what is was called, I assigned my own name Tender Loving so I could remember the name during car conversations with others.
  18. Then let's bring back the Aztek.
  19. While I mostly agree, it must be remembered that others were caught as well, but not as dramatically. Both Nissan and Toyota were late too the big truck party. Should have they not forseen the downfall. Now Toyota has cut back on Tundra and Sequoia trucks, may cut the Avalon. Nissan will eliminate the Armada, QX45 or whatever it is called and their next big truck will basically be a rebadged Chrysler product. Hell, I just read this morning that Honda is cutting back production of the Odyssey mini van. The import misteps while not as large, nonetheless have been made as well. Honda is in the best position of all with the Honda/Acura lineup to do well in the forseeable future. I wonder how the niche product V-10 NSX will play out when it comes out. Will the media crucify Honda for bringing out such a car in todays environment.
  20. Amen. Rant ON: I had a "collegue" from Europe give me $h! about how the US government response to Katrina was slow and ineffective. I agreed with him. However, when I gave him $h! about the Paris riots, he made all sorts of PC comments about it. Perhaps I goaded him with my email entitled "Paris is Burning" after an old Dokken song. The Europeans have thier Eurocentric views of the world, we have our own American"centric" view points. We should agree to agree we are different and never will be the exact same, but work together on where we do agree. Lets start by letting Europe and Asia spend their own GNP on their own defense, so we can take that money saved to help our ailing country. And I am speaking as a former Canadian who became a U.S. citizen of this GREATEAST country in the world, who has parents who immigrated to Canada from Italy and Sicily. It is time the US start taking of it's own and let others take care of themselves. Now we are proposing to put missiles in the Chech republic (in the process alarming Russia) as a counter to possible missile threats from Iran. To hell with Europe, let them defend themselves. All my relatives in Italy and France need to defend themselves, if they can't afford it, then their great socialist societies can levy more taxes while workers demand less work hours per week. Rant OFF. edited for clarity...sort of.
  21. Well the front nose piece looks like ....well... an Italian's big nose! Certainly not my Italian nose but perhaps one of my cousins.
  22. The experience of my then girlfriend, wife now, with her 80s AWD Subaru was the exact opposite of my domestics. That car was a piece of sh*t. We gave the car to my wife's sister who said the car was a piece of crap herself, thought my sister in law did eventually buy a late 90s AWD Legacy Wagon. Her brother also bought a 2005 Subaru AWD wagon as well. So my sister in laws experience did not sour her enough not to buy a second Subaru which proved to be more reliable. It is a shame that people with bad experience with domestic cars do not give them an equal second chance. The domestics are mired in a bad reputation of producing crappy cars in the 80s to mid 90s in which americans will not let them forget.
  23. I have been driving my 85 TA for the last month while my 93 TA was getting a second opinion from my dealership. Just learned the 93 needs a new radiator and thermostat and apperently has not blown a head gasket. So if you lived in my area you would see a nice clean pretty Blaze Red Trans Am tooling around. The car gets plenty of notice and thumbs up from people. Not to bad for a 3rd gen car that had no respect in it's days. My problem is everyone one with a fast car wants to race me but my problem is that the 85 TA only puts out 155-160 HP and as you know there are plenty of 4 bangers out there that now produce way more hp and therefore faster.
