  1. Interesting that GM seems to be the lead company for every show this year.
  2. They need to do ALL three. This could be for GM what scion & Mini are to toyota and BMW. Not only would it be hot in countries like India, China and possibly Japan. They would also be a big hit in the US.
  3. I wonder how much they expect the reduction in fleet to affect the year end sales results.
  4. What do you do? Keep in mind, it takes 3 to 4 years to get full scale. Though by the time I'm full scale the pay will have gone up even more. Oh yeah, that doesn't include full medical at no charge (whole family), a good amount of vacation, sick and personal days, another $6.50+ per hour towards the pension, etc. It's the standard good old fashion union job. The type of jobs that made our country strong. The kind of jobs that are going away.
  5. aaaanotine - Full scale driver for UPS in Portland Oregon pays $60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on OT. trinacriabob - Intrigue sold ages ago (before we bought our current home). I wanted to be an Architect when I was younger. In the end, I don't figured out I just don't have the artist part in me.
  6. After 10 years of dealing with Property Management in one way or another, I'm finally out. I start working for UPS next Monday. I can only say AHHHHHHH. Relief . . . It will be a big jump, as I will be working part time for UPS until I can go driver (short on money for a while). It's sad really, UPS drivers make more Property Manager's of 300+ unit communities, and don't put in the amount of hours, or have 1/4 of the stress. To add to the changes in our house this month; 1. We've sold old Blue (1991 Suburban) 2. Big Red (1999 Suburban) is for sale 3. We've been submitted for the adoption of 2 boys 4. We've just closed on the refi of our home (up over $75,000 in 1 1/2 years) 5. We are looking for a new church home (after 5+ years ours is closing it's doors) 6. The HHR got damaged and needed some body repair last week. In the process they screwed up the electrical system so it also had to be in the shop late last week and yesterday to be fixed. I had 4 rental cars during the process. A very nice 2007 DTS, a trashed 2006 Impala, a bland 2007 Ion, and a decent 2004 Classic. 7. ??? Question is, whats next for this month. I'm looking foward to a very peaceful and uneventful summer, as spring has proven to have many suprises.
  7. You can't even start a list of GMs great vehicles without including the Silverado & Suburban.
  8. An Acadia with sliding doors would work. Or something of the sort.
  9. Love the black, though I hate keeping it clean.
  10. Congrats! We love ours. When are we getting to see some pics?
  11. Someones got to buy them. Hopefully the dealers will be dumb enough too.
  12. You and something for him to read (when he is doing better). I got very bored when I had my open heart.
  13. Oregon law does not allow a ticket for upto 5 mph over the speed limit. Infact most cops won't even pull you over unless you are 9+ mph over.
  14. Beautiful truck. Congrats!
  15. I know a few vendors that have gotten over 300k out of their Astros. They seem to have the long term durability going, with stupid things breaking along the way.
  16. The Grand Prix isn't a bad car, there just isn't much of a soul there. I would pick the S60, though if I actually had to worry about maintenance cost and long term reliability, the Grand Prix would win, hands down.
  17. I have atleast a 45 minute drive to work and home. My phone is used everytime to go over my day with my wife, or I don't get to talk to her at all, as she is asleep by the time I get home.
  18. If GM only sold this here.
  19. We had high sixties yesterday but are expecting to get the rain and cold back by the end of the week.
  20. Ok GM, the poll is showing that you need to bring diesels here. SO . . .
  21. I just got done doing a mileage conversion for the Opel Zafira. The one sold in Mexico gets approx 32 mpg. The others sold throughout the world with the 1.8 4-cyl get 37 to 38 mpg with 140 hp on tap. The diesel versions get over 45 mpg! We would save over $170 per month in gas by owing a Zafira over the Suburban. Yeah, it's not as big, but with the money saved I could pay for the roof carrier, and get a decent hotel when we travel. Heck, a trip to LA in a Zafira compared to our Suburban would save us over $300!! Even with the bigger engine. GM I WANT A ZAFIRA NOW. Please get your act together and bring us the good stuff. Anyone know how hard it is to get a vehicle in Mexico and bring it over?
  22. It looks almost Audi like on the inside.
  23. My brother and his wife got 120,000 care free miles out of their Silhouette before trading it off for their prius.
  24. I saw this happen on my way to work today. We had snow packed roads which caused the prius to stop dead in it's tracks. PIECE O CRAP!
  25. Our picture of my wife, daughter on the beach in our old SW2 made the photo of the day for FYI.GMBlog.
