  1. I manage a newer section 42 apartment buidling with what is considered lower rents for the area. 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom $539 to $569 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom $639 to $659 This does include water / sewer / garbage. Electricity runs $35 to $65 a month for most residents, maxing out at $110 in the winter (assuming it actually gets cold here). Briar Creek - The apartment building I manage My mortgage is almost triple that of our 1 bedroom apartments.
  2. Here's a picture of Roach II (hopefully someone will be interested in buying it). I am letting my Maintenance Manager use it right now. I refuse to pay for the 15 mpg it gets. At this point my wife won't let me ask less than $4000 for it. We got it from the county police, who got it from the city of Portland. It does run strong as any Caprice out there, and this one hasn't been abused like Roach I. Though if it doesn't sell soon, I'm going to have to come up with ways to get it to die so we have an excuse to sell it (it never worked for Roach I but it was fun trying).
  3. I though the Citation was "cool" I thought toyota only made the corolla and pick up truck and datsun was for poor people I thought American brand lines where only bought by rich people (as my parents stated they couldn't afford one when I was younger). Funny, even then I hated Japanese brand cars because we where always the ones on the side of the road needing help. I thought if GM went below 35% of the market they would have to close their doors. I too believed that all turbos needed a button, though I knew the Corvette didn't have one (as I was convinced only foreign cars use it, like in the movies)
  4. I wonder and hope this comes over as a Saturn.
  5. Great idea on the diesel scene. They should atleast give a try to see how people would react. They should have enough capacity to throw in 10,000 or so Cobalts & Malibus for us to try out.
  6. So, any chance of them adding the system to every vehicle they sell?
  7. A Kappa compact gives GM something else no one else has. It give them a lower cost BMW 3-series. Our Cobalt is 2 weeks old and has over 2000 miles. At todays gas prices a compact rear wheel drive vehicle that could seat my entire family would be perfect. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. Besides giving Pontiac the Pursuit just puts GM back into the 80s. Rebadging the same product for every division. A stupid move. I would buy a Kappa 4 seater in a heartbeat. I know of a few neighbors that would do the same.
  8. GM needs a super high gas mileage vehicle they can tout out does foreign makes. At this time they don't have one of the top 5 highest gas mileage cars out there when it comes to the EPA.
  9. A Kappa based 4-door and 2-door would fit the bill for a low price economy perfectly for Pontiac. They would get good gas mileage, start a market that doesn't exist, and just be plain old hot.
  10. With gas prices the way they are, I see this trend staying. Especially as Buick introduces nicer vehicles.
  11. If GM wants to compete on the environment scene, they need to off a hybird version on almost every vehicle they sell.

    GMC Acadia?

Now those are the perfect engines in new GM SUVs to show they are building the right product right off the bat.
  13. We just got back from a trip to Seattle and got 38 mpg while going 70 mph the whole time. Those EPA figures are WAY off.
  14. I think one of the smartest thing GM can do is to put emphasis on the LA show. They need the market right now, and by ignoring the show means your ignoring the market. LA sets the trends right now. toyota sells strong in California so the country follows. When GM was strong in California, they where strong throughout the country.
  15. Beautiful car. Would Ford actually build such? Probably not.
  16. How do you compete when you have no product? We had a heck of a time finding a Cobalt in our area that even came close to what we wanted. For that matter we had to compromise which I'm sure many people won't.
  17. I want to know where our diesel powered hybird Astra for Saturn is?
  18. Beautiful pick. Now if only I could have talked my wife into the SS.
  19. We closed on our home using GMAC so we thought we would continue to support GM by buying a new GM car. Really Roach II was costing us over $500 a month in gas so when we did the math it was cheaper to buy a new Cobalt on a monthly basis and in the long run. When everything is added up, inlcuding the payment, we now spend $50 less per month to run the Cobalt than to run Roach II. There wasn't a 5 speed LS coupe in Blue Granite Metallic so we got a base with cruise and a spoiler. So far we are getting over 40 mpg consistently. At this point we already have over 1700 miles. My wife is now considering the sale of Roach II as she has fallen in love with "Ladybug". Picture of "Ladybug" as named by the girls Since posting on C&G last I have; 1. Sold the Bravada 2. Bought a Ford Thunderbird which broke down, and is now being sold (mistake to buy Ford in the 1st place even if I did pay cash for it). 3. Bought a home 4. Got a new job that pays $1000 more a month 5. Rented a Classic for an LA trip (not a bad car and was under consideration when the Cobalt was bought)
  20. Beautiful, but at $3 a gallon it wouldn't fit well into our daily lives.
