  5. Do I see a theme there? I have a $h!load of stuff to do this weekend, so I've decided to do nothing today... I'm testing the hypothesis that if you think about things long and hard enough they'll appear done for themselves...
  6. can I change my vote to 'yes'?
  7. Quite an elegant design!
  8. The issue is that selling a S-class or 7-Series based on a 5 or 10 year-old platform is a strategy that flies on brand equity alone. Cadillac lacks any brand equity to do that. Why not let a Lambda based Escalade be Cadillac's large vehicle? Large crossovers/SUVs is a niche where Cadillac does well and even if some enthusiasts don't like the prospect of a unibody, transversely mounted engined Escalade (AWD-only, of course), I'm sure Cadillac would do it right. BMW does not have a X7 for smk to compare the Escalade with
  9. I think there will be no larger-than-CTS (or CT5/Ct6, or whatever it's called) car... I see GM giving up on that segment altogether.

  16. I'll say it anyway: $h!!
  17. Yes, sir. They need Chevy for volume (development and production cost dilution). No Pontiac mentioned, as expected. I am seeing Pontiac fading away around the time the Alpha Chevy comes online...
  18. A sedan plus something similar in concept to the Opel Meriva, perhaps? I don't think those 2 variants would be significantly 'fattened' for the US.

  23. Guess they could always shorten it, but... wouldn't weight be an issue there? Cost as well... idk... sometimes it seems GM is just driving around in circles: 'let's make this RWD only.... oh wait let's not......' Or maybe they've gone beyond crisis mode into panic mode...
  24. not bad, hopefully real world driving highway fuel economy won't be much different from that
