In the case of GMC, if it sells at higher price points andsince it doesn't require much investment, then leave it be. As far as the other brands go, it is the case of global brands taking place (Buick-Opel would be a global brand in this scheme with Holden sharing Chevy and Opel products). Too bad they're giving up on SAAB, their only brand with a global presence that can be considered as premium, but hey... maybe GM is happy selling 50 Cadillacs a month in Europe.

I hope they don't, but the fact is that GM has no money and if the 'desperate times call for desperate measures' idea sinks in... well... I just hope it doesn't, and that if the Converj is indeed approved (GM has said it's studying the business case for it) it will help decrease the payback period on the huge investment GM is making on parallel hybrids.

And the corollary of that all is the 'sue'em all' mentality. Because the notion of individual responsibility has practically gone down the drain, not only in the US but everywhere. It's disgusting...

No money to develop them. At least not as a full model range. Perhaps a coupe/convertible like the Soltice can become the Pontiac (note emphasis on the singular), but that's all I see as possible when the current lineup goes away.

Why do dealers in the US put those pin stripes on the sides of cars, and the dealer badges on the trunk? Re the cars themselves, the Malibu sure looks solid on the outside! The previous generation Malibu did look a little fragile when compared to this one...
