  1. WTF is the pefect acronym for this
  2. injury stapling one's own finger, for example

  5. Auto Motor und Sport's sister publication here in Portugal (a weekly magazine called AutoHoje) published a calendar of model launches in which the new 9-5 is to be shown in October and the 9-4X will in November. But, the way things are going, I'm not putting much hope in seeing a 9-1 or a NG 9-3 unless the 9-5 and 9-4X sell well...
  6. I don't think the plan is immediate death, I think it's the same plan as the one behind Pontiac: not to feed it with new product until it eventually dies. The big difference could be (with strong emphasis on the word 'could') that Saab has the new 9-5 and 9-4x coming in '09 and '10. If those 2 are big hits, who knows?
  7. hotdog
  8. Toyota's business model has been very succesful. They have no need for SAAB. I could see SAAB in BMW's hands, being the BMW's group green luxury brand. but it all depends on price, financing of the acquisition, and how much of a MINI-like approach can BMW infuse into Saab...
  9. they spent so much time designing those, that they forgot to design a proper exterior and interior

  11. It's as good as dead, but hey... $h! happens. And I still hope they can find a buyer, at least for the brand.

  14. ass there is a method to my madness: pretentious ----> pompous ---> pompous ass
  15. Who knows? We could even end up with an E-Flex SRX and this could preview the evolution of the A&S to be applied to the RWD Alpha car. Maybe one of our Photoshop-talented posters could try and do a RWD-proportioned Converj?...
  16. "(...) so we can push it down a cliff." That's the part of the sentence he didn't say. :AH-HA_wink:
  17. GMC has higher transaction prices than Chevy trucks while essentially being the same vehicles. Higher margins = good. What I read from this is that Pontiac is dead. IMHO keeping the G5 makes perfect sense: it's a small car and the consensus is that the shift to smaller cars in the US market is a structural change even if gas prices remain low. Consumers can now afford to feed their Suburbans/Escalades but apparently they can't afford to buy them in droves anymore because they have to clean up their credit and job problems. Regarding the premium/luxury brands, what I think is that in the US Cadillac will get attention (i.e. marketing $$$) while SAAB will remain in its a very limited niche. Outside the US the situation will be reversed: SAAB will get attention (i.e. marketing $$$) while Cadillac will remain a small niche player. Remember Cadillac sold 5K cars in Europe last year, which is a ridiculously low penetration.
  18. Rick Wagoner said in an interview that they're talking to comapnies interested in buying SAAB. You can find the article in the autos section at the Dagens Industri website (in Swedish).

    Subaru Legacy Concept

Subaru is looking for a new style identity/concept... I don't think they're quite there yet.
  20. There's something very wrong with this car's looks, inside and out.
  21. How can there be talent to design this and yet people be stuck with the current Sebring?......
  22. Its the best ever so-obscure-that-no-one-notices-the-changes refresh!
  23. Alpha is RWD, this is Delta2 with Voltec drivetrain. Totally different animals... And btw... Voltec? WTF is that stupid name for? Is this Star Trek? EDIT - I have to agree with smk on the performance issue... 160hp seems a little low for a Cadillac eve though electric motors have high and constant torque which can give this car some interesting acceleration times... maybe it could be not as green as the Volt, and more exciting.
