  1. Well, to be honest I was thinking more along the lines of linking a 'technologically advanced' image with Cadillac. Most of Europe's equivalents of the US Interstates are limited to 75 or 80 mph (in Sweden the speed limit is 69mph), so going fast all the time isn't as important for Europeans as US car magazine ads make it to be.I think what Cadillac needs is more ambition in Europe. If they get a few details right, they might start making an impact even with a limited dealer network.
  2. Sentence association: 'dead deals' relates to 'me not going to work for Roland Berger' Sadly, a 24/7 job isn't compatible with taking time to go to school... answer to thread (in one word): corpse
  3. I'm trying to curb my enthusiasm: I want a RWD sub-CTS Cadillac :AH-HA_wink:Also, I was thinking about this Alpha platform and AH-HA's "Alpha and Omega" post... Like I posted above, I wonder if a modular platform could be in the works: something to accomodate several body styles, sizes (and brands - think holden, Pontiac and Cadillac)
  4. The 2.8L V6 should be getting DI as well.
  5. Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge vehicles I like: the 300, the Magnum, the 300 wagon we get in Europe (essentially a Magnum with the 300's front end and interior - i like it a lot!), the Grand Cherokee , the Viper and the Pacifica (yes, even after all the years it's been on sale). The rest of them just aren't my cup of tea... EDIT - I forgot the Crossfire
  6. fumes
  7. A wild idea: how about if a Private Equity firm buys the Chrysler Group? Do you guys think we'd see a replay of the Rover story? edited for grammar
  8. But the key word there is "supposedly", isn't it? Is there confirmation of the Alpha platform being approved?EDIT - I was wondering if an Alpha RWD platform could be proposed, in the same fashion as Audi's modular platform I read about that will underpin the NG A4, A6 and A8.
  9. Filthy as in 'filthy rich'
  10. That's pretty neat! It gets my vote.
  11. I hope it doesn't look like the Vectra wagon. IMO that's not sportier styling.
  12. It's 1st time that I like a Citroen front-end styling more than a Peugeot.
  13. will there be a 3-door model?
  14. My belief is that size and weight (BMW's smallest diesel is the 2.0L used in the 118d and 120d) plus the conversion to FWD cost were the main reasons to go with an outsourced diesel engine. The Toyota engine is quite nice in everyday use, and after 3 years I have absolutely no complaints re the engine.

  16. I love this, especially the colours! However, an integrated fob (I'm assuming the picture shows both key and separate fob) with a retractable key would give it a more upscale look. The Cadillac fob seems ideal for keyless applications and looks very good too. It's good to see GM (re)learning how to do things right!
  17. Those fender flares do seem Commodore-ish... I think Opel will be showing the Insignia, though: the Vectra successor is an important model, and GM needs to show something solid to counter the novelty effect of the Mondeo.
  18. upskirt
  19. Airbags
  20. I don't know if DCX presents Chrysler and Daimler Groups individual financial statements or just the consolidated ones. If it does present individual financial statements, it might be fun to do a little valuation exercise on the Chrysler Group!I tried to reply before, but those damn 'internal server error' messages keep happening almost every day
  21. I am happy that all went well
  22. Sitting Bull
  23. My thoughts exactly.
  24. Would Daimler sell the Chrysler Group to Tracinda?
  25. small chevy spark = small car
