  1. If Saturn is successful in the next few years, I'm sure it's the end of Buick. Simply too many brands right now.

The Colorado is not at the top, the Tacoma outsold it easily in 2005.

    2008 Malibu

That's funny But the new Malibu better be nice. Still 2 years away from now though.

Is bigger better? Could it be too much? Sometimes when you try too hard to be the best, you miss something. But I'm a bit scared.
  5. I still prefer the previous Impala, bolder. Sometimes, Lutz has a tendency to approve vanilla design.

    2008 Malibu

You can see it by the sales numbers going down for the new Impala, not impressive. What happened, Lutz said that GM would have world class interior??? Where are they??? As a 2006 MY, this is not acceptable. I can say the same thing for my Cobalt.
  7. So true, not easy to attract new buyers when they touch the interior material of the Cobalt. It is cheap. I don't know why they did that, why they can't use same material as ToyoHonda's interiors.
  8. That's what I was thinking, I hope they won't start cutting in quality, some interiors are cheap enough. No, no, no, cut salaries, benefits, close factories but do not cut the material quality. Will GM ever understand?
  9. Will there be a new Chevy minivan?
  10. What GM does not understand is, for example, giving cars better interior and standard side air bags, ABS... would cost a few hundred bucks and could help sell them with less rebates.

    2007 Sentra

A Saturn Ion, that was my first thought.
  12. It's like if DCX is becoming too confident with their designs since the success of the 300, and now, everything is approved for production. GM and Ford have very nice design this year, and DCX are the worst.
  13. When will it be in showrooms? spring 08 as a 09MY? So nice.
  14. Oh Lord, worse than I thought, specially the rear. no, no, no.
  15. The pushrod engines are a bad decision, probably made by a bunch of bean counters who knows nothing about cars. Ecotec 2.4 and 3.6 should be the only engines available in the midsize cars.
  16. Now if GM can hear me: kill all the pushrod V-6 and replace them by the 3.6 all across the board. I don't want to hear about them anymore. You should keep only 3 engines for your cars, ecotec lineup ( I really love mine in my Cobalt), 3.6 and the 5.3. All mated to a 6 speed tranny. It would sell much better with less incentive. You remind me Kodak, who tried to sell film camera while every one else was selling digital ones. And they lost a lot of market share. Now about the 3.4, 3.5, 3.9, kill em all. I know Lutz would like to do it. And fire all the bean counters.
  17. I was stunned to see the Hyundai Sonata selling more tha 20K units in december. That's where are Malibu and Impala buyers. GM is not competitive in cars.
  18. At least, the 6-speed auto will be standard. I'm sure the base engine will be the 3.9L.
  19. How long will it take to see a real car from Chevy? I mean a high volume seller.
  20. Malibu sold 14 076 units. It should be ninth and Cobalt tenth.
  21. The Ridgeline is a truck????
  22. Honda is the example to follow. I don't see how GM will be able to come back. I presume that the good number of G6 sales in november are the result of fleet sales. The problem is GM seems to design cars ( specially the interior) to meet fleet criteria. Cheap as possible.
  23. What a shame. 60% of the Impala sales goes to fleet. The new one is too much vanilla looking.
  24. Ageed, I own one, the interior needs an upgrade.
  25. That's the reason Wagoner has to go. He must be blind far saying that our products are as good as the competition. Did he compare the interior materials with a ToyoHonda. The reason why people do not buy GM's cars is because they are NOT GREAT, just good enough. ( cheap interiors, 4-speed trannies....) He is just a business man, not a car lover. Now, bring Mark Laneve in.
