  1. Thanks Bro.... I've already read up a bit on the Trans. problems on there.
  2. Despite the doomsday thread I think it looks like most of us here either have a V-8 or three or plan on buying one in the future... I myself have six in my driveway, four of them mine, one XP's and one belonging to the ex. I think the new broad will probably end up with a V8 car too if I have anything to do with it.
  3. I'm only human... there's been more than one time I've told someone in a healthy relationship something along the lines of "if you ever find yourself single..." It's not always appropriate, it's not often to their (or your) benefit but sometimes it feels like you'll explode if it is not said.
  4. Tempting.... but I'm up to my neck in cars right now.
  5. I drove around for a few miles tonight in the RoadMonster and other than above 45mph the trans behaves well... it's just highway gears that are screwed up and tempermental. Too bad, other wise it would be a perfect road trip car. I guess it was meant to be... looks like I'll be driving the B-59. but that could still change. If I can find some POS 1982 Mercedes 240 Diesel with a 4-speed I will take that and get 35mpg, then sell it after I get back and double my money. Oh, and that freekin' RoadMonster does a killer burnout. God damn I always had respect for the LT1 but I would have tought a tired & beat up 113 thousand mile motor would show some signs of wear.
  6. I love the Toronado. Always been partial to that car's styling. The first time I saw one was when a friend's mom dropped him off in a bright red one. I thought for a minute it was some concept car or a European exotic.
  7. YES!!! That thing is f*cking awsome! How much do you want for that sucker? PM has been sent.
  8. I love the fun pillows... Here's an interesting video of KITT set to a techno song called '84 Pontiac Dream...
  9. Boo-Yeah!
  10. How much and why was I not made aware of this...? Seriously... I'm interested.
  11. I was thinking a jolly roger on the doors or hood...?
  12. Wait a sec... are we counting lawn mowers, & other such small internal combustion motors?
  13. Peter Egan wrote an article in Road & Track a few years back about this topic. What is YOUR current cylinder count? A few weeks ago my cylinder count was: 1984 Dastun Maxima "Zwei" (w/sunroof): 6 1984 Dastun Maxima parts car: 6 1959 Buick LeSabre: 8 1964 Oldsmobile Super 88: 8 1977 Cadillac Coupe deVille: 8 1996 Volvo 850: 5 1997 Cadillac STS parts car: 8 TOTAL: 49 The Volvo, Super 88, Maxima "Zwei" & Coupe deVille are now gone, BUT I have acquired two more cars... The Roadmaster Estate & a very solid 1976 LeSabre 4-door Hardtop with 455 power. So now my fleet is as follows: 1984 Dastun Maxima parts car: 6 1959 Buick LeSabre: 8 1976 Buick LeSabre: 8 1994 Buick Roadmaster Estate: 8 1997 Cadillac STS parts car: 8 Curret total: 38 So as much as I am getting yelled at for having too many cars in the driveway I've actaully sold more cars than I've bought... and my cylinder count is WAY down. Now keep in mind this is NOT counting Marcia's Q45 [8] XP715's Lincoln Limousine [8] and the roommates's cars... Volvo 240 [4], Chrysler PT Cruiser [4] & Julies' Taurus [6] So technically all the car's in the driveway total 68 cylinders.

  15. I'm in love with my Roadmaster Estate even though I may be replacing the trans. shortly. I have the utmost respect for this gentleman, he's famous for his Buick obsession. Buicks are such cool, eclectic, addictive cars to collect... although same can be said for Pontiac & Cadillac I suppose. I'd have a dozen Buicks in a heartbeat if I had the money. At leaat half of them owuld be pre-war too.
  16. So much for those unibody "crumple zones" huh? That was quite a crash.
  17. Oldsmoboi: It's funny how WELL you guys know me. Yes... IF I was to ever buy a FWD Buick at least the motor should be mounted lengthwise for ease of maintenance and practicality. Not to mention balance.
  18. SCHUBY87: I beleive ALL LT1s had the optispark hiccups. That was a lame idea As far as you're pirate ship comment... great minds think alike, I was considering a Skull & Crossbones on the doors and old school pinstriping around the sides & rear. Yeah... Buicks are addictive like crack. I'm already dreaming of a carmine red 1996 Roadmaster Sedan steel-roof.
  19. Thanks guys. Once again I have managed to: 1. open mouth 2. insert foot After I bought the Banana Boat 1977 Cadilac coupe deVille & the 1976 Buick LeSabre 455 hardtop I had decided that I would never buy a car newer than myself, except for a modern RWD hardtop like the Camaro. But then I show up at a friend's dealership just to say hi and next thing you know I own a B-body. Ironic since the day I told XP about my "nothing newer than 1979" rule I had said my only regret was never having owned a 1980- 1985 Bustleback Seville or a 1990s LT1 powered B-body. There is rhyme & order to the universe after all. Here's a big, less flattering photo of the '94 RoadMonster.
  20. This past Tuesday I got home from dropping off Sofia at the school, I plopped on the couch and posted on C&G that I was going to Tulsa in my B-59 and later that day I would be getting radial tires installed on the B-59. Then about 45 minutes later, with absolutely ZERO foresight, premeditation or planning I brought home a 1994 Buick Roadmaster Estate with 113K miles. Sure it needs work but I got her for $412.00 Natrually, being a 1994 it is powered by an LT1 and it looks liek I will be replacing the trans. very soon. Still, it's a pretty good deal if you ask me. I always wanted a last-gen, LT1 powered B-body... that's one more lifetime goal accomplished. So to recap: April 4th 2007: Bought my FIRST Buick ever, a 1959 LeSabre May 18th 2007: Bought my second Buick... a 1976 4dr hardtop LeSabre with a 455 May 29th 2007: Bought my third Buick, a RoadMONSTER station wagon I'm pretty sure this one will stay in my driveway for at least a few weeks. First and foremost it will get a flat black paintjob & some red steelies. As you can see I have already removed the faux wood "trim" around the decals fromthe whole car. MOre photos to come later.
  21. Preaching to the choir again!!!
  22. This is the night I bought the car... it was garaged while a Volvo 240 wagon, 2000-something Ford Taurus & an early 1990s Crown Vic. stayed outside.
  23. Boobs
  24. Yeah, noticed it the other day. Saturn is finally coming into its own...
