I'm not so sure that the GNX is a bad deal at $100,000. Id pay that before I'd buy any POS beater musclecar at Barrett Jackson for $700,000 just becuase it has a 426 HEMI and is painted SubLime. Still cars are meant to be driven, not stored and looked at, this thing will probably never see a road, ever. That's sad... if I could buy it I would drive the doors off of it, I'd treat it with respect and maintain it as it should be but also enjoy the swoosh of the turbo.

Thanks guys, I actually got several emails on the truck already. One dude just emailed me "best, most honest listing EVER"

A better questio is why does a Quad4 powered Grand Am GT need FOUR exhaust tips? I love the styling of these Grand Ams tough, always have.

Both hillarious and really disgusting at the same time. What did that poor Regal ever do to anyone to deserve that??? At least the ricers only fu*k up crappy cars like Hondas, FWD Nissans & Toyotas... this donk-box-bubble trend must stop. Toyotas

The PSI in the right front is 23.6 but I assure you it is FRESH air, I changed it out just last week for SpeedingPenguin. All the stale air was deflated and new fresh air from the Swiss Alps was used. Also, FYI: The blinker fluid is a bit low on the driver's side and the gear oil in the rear end was changed out for Genco extra virgin olive oil due to its superior lubricative prowess.

Saturn mulling Diesel-propelled future
Sixty8panther replied to Flybrian's topic in Heritage Marques
$1000 additional for a diesel is not a big hurdle at all for a smart consumer. I'm sure there would be plenty of people who would gladdly pay that premium. The day I bought my Datsun "Zwei" I tried to also buy a diesel 1982 Mercedes 300D with 248,000 miles. The car was rotted like it had been sprinkled with rocksalt & left under a shower for a few years. He was asking $600 & I politely offered him just under $400 (all the money I had in my pocket) but he said not a dollar under $500. And you know what, he was rigt, even that POS 4-speed manual rot-box could be flipped on eBay for $800. The Duramax Diesel & Allison Trans option was a $7000 premium over a gas 5.3/6.0 liter truck so WTF are they worried about ONE thousand? Seems like a cop out. -
Ummm... so yeah, Happy Birthday dude.

Exactly as CARBIZ said... I've got nothing against Benz or BMW, CHevy vs. Ford is pretty much irrelevant to me too at this point. It's about stopping the Jaspanese in their quest to win the economic war with the USA by any means neccessary. They have been kicking us in the groin, bringing guns & knives to boxing matches & trowing sand in our eyes for a couple decades now. Time to wake up USA.

My first thought was Rusty Jones my second was "Big Red" (the now infamous 1979 Cadillac Coupe deVille)

YES. Price being a factor there are not many post-WWII Italian cars that are what I would call a good deal. For a half a million Dollars US a 2006 Enzo Ferrari should not only keep up with a silver bullet in the 1/4 mile and with a 900cc superbike on a twisty roadcourse but it should also give the owner oral & cook him dinner & pick pu the dry cleaning all of its own accord. The more I get into classic cars & pre-war stuff & esp. the mechanical advancement of the first few decades of the 20th century the more I loose respect for the so called "exotic car".

Wow... the Jaguar maskes me cringe (I do not really hate the new Jags) but that Hyundai makes me laugh. I bet it turned to rust-dust about 12 minutes after you took that photo. HOw ridiculous. What is the story there???

I too hope this becomes Pontiac's new logo. That is one sharp emblem. I even like the fact that it's monochromatic. It's elegant, classy & yet somehow more RAW than the sissy calipers & ovals the Japanese use.

Narrowed down the possible third member of the fleet
Sixty8panther replied to Flybrian's topic in The Lounge
Maybe XP will sell you his pearl white "EGG" so that he can fund his 1967 Cadillac Eldorado restoration. Seriously, ask him he's been having crazy thoughts of selling the car or taking it off the road. But if it was me I'd go for the Park Ave. Ultra, I love those cars. -
If that 328 is a 5-speed I say go for it!!!

UAW, Toyota workers to hold town hall meeting Saturday in Kentucky
Sixty8panther replied to ellives's topic in Toyota
Toyota has one of the highest rates of suicide of any major corporation amongst its workers. XP gave me an intertesting book to read recently he ran into it by sheer coincidence... it's called "On the Line at Subaru-Isuzu, The Japanese Model and the American Worker" In a nutshell it opened up my eyes as to just how disturbing it is that we have any amount of respect or admiration for the Japanese. They basically brainwash their workers and treat them like cattle. People are hired based on their ability to be coerced and controled rather than based on their ablility to perform any particular task. Their whole Anti-union mentality and hypocritical method of worker control is disgusting. Seriously, pick it up and read it, it was wrtitten by Laurie Graham. -
Mr. SpeedingPenguin detailed my Datsun "Zwei" for me today, to return the favour I decided to list his winter Beater Jeep pickup on Craigslist for him. It's basically a parts truck at this point... we decided to throw up a quick listing but it quickly turned into more of a joke than anything. Enjoy. http://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/car/303533154.html

Yup... I hope I get the '59 too. The pain of my wisdom teeth extraction & recovery would be nothing in comparison to how depressed I'll be if the deal with the Super 88 falls through and therefore I miss out on this '59 Buick. I've been working all the angles on this car for over two months now. I can see that LeSabre in my driveway already. Marcia and I have already decided that we'll leave the roof white but paint the rest firethorn red (or possibly candy apple red) and then I'll do up a white leather interior on a budget. But getting back to my wisdom teeth... I'm in a LOT of pain.

Happy Birthday dude!!! Smokey Bones IS really good stuff. That's right by my old House in Tyngsboro. I was across the street there the other day at MY favorite restaurant: Olive Garden.

First off the TWCC trivia will be coming soon, don't think I have given up or forgoten. My life as of late has been vefry hectic, some of it I'm not going to get into since it's just personal B.S. I have to deal with but other stuff I'll fill you guys in on. I'm still trying to sell the Super 88, rebuilt the fuel pump and reinstalled it last week. My buyer out of Kansas City, MO has dicked me around for just over 6 weeks now. I'm done dealing with excuses. I have bent over f***ing backwards for this guy and I keep getting the runaround as to the actual purchase. You kmnow what they say... money talks, bull$h! walks. Earlier this week I relisted the Super 88 on craiglist AGAIN for like the 8th time. The next day I got a few phone calls, mostly people pulling my chain & wasting my time. Then I get a call at 7:30 am as I'm headed for work. Like a 14 digit longh number w/ zeros i all the wrong places. It's a gentleman out of Norway. We're in serious talks about him buying the car and importing it back there to Norway. I'm all for it. I used to get pissed at people shipping American Classic cars overseas but you know what??? The Scandanavians and most Europeans take better care of their American Classics & respect them more than most jackasses over here. This guy seems to be legit. He's willing to paypal me $3600 early next week if I give him the go-ahead. This includes $3000 for the car, $480 for a valvejob & $120 for a carb rebuild. Then once the car runs again in May he will come pick it up and have it put on a container ship back to Norway. He already has a 1972 Caddy, 1973 Caddy 1955 Dodge, 1966 Buick & 1962 T-Bird. So my pipe dream of still buying that 1959 LeSabre just might happen perhaps before my birthday too. That would be the coolest car I've ever owned, even including the '68 Camaro. More and more I feel like nothing else will make me as happy as a 1959 Buick... well as far as post-war cars go anyway. My ultimate dream would be a 1931 Cadillac V16 Dual Cowl Phaeton or the Tiger Hunt V16 Caddy. Then again, there's other obtainable cars I'd love to own as well but they somehow all fall short of the originality, styling, magnificence & historical relevance of the '59 Buick. Maybe if I get bored of that LeSabre I'll buy a 1961 Cadillac Vista-roof 4dr hardtop but I really think that if I get a 1959 it will be a keeper. To that end... (raising $$$ for the 1959 Buick LeSabre) I will be parting out my STS in the next few weeks and listing any and all expendable equity on eBay & craigslist. My new job is going well, it is one of the better jobs I'e ever had, holds my interest. So that's it in a nutshell... other personal things that are going on are also keeping me off C&G, MySpace & my other hobbies but before you know it the new and final trivia thread will be up and we'll have a winer.

Funny. Those games are fun but they onnly hold my attention for a few minutes. Gran Turismo is still the best video game series EVARRR if you ask me. 2 was the best. I have my 1969 Camaro set up so well in that game that I can beat ANY street legal car in the game, including RUF Porsches and such exotics. As of the past year I've been playing Heroes of the Pacific. Great flight simulator & air combat game, all my friends come over and we duke it out with the P-51, Seafire, F4U & My personal favorite non-American plane... the Shindin. Also, Simpsons Hit & Run is fun too!

LIsten up here.... RWD Chevy reg-cab. S10 frame with 4.3 liter motor.... drop the body of the Omega on top and you'll have a sick little car. Remember the 1999 Alero I showed you guys powered by a TPi 350 and riding on a 90s S10 pickup frame? It was f@#king awsome, well excecuted and tastefull. A 75 year olf guy did that all by himself. He also has a 1970 Cuda on a Dodge Dakota frame with a Viper V10. Seriously.

Exactly. Seems like it to me, my apologies if I am mistaken.

Not liking the styling. The Cheyenne concept nose does not work here. It's too soft and femmy lokking, perhaps that is the point though...

Thanks guys... yeah, the top 2 were removed in 2004 but these lower 2 were much more impacted and the fragility of the jaw bone in that spot complicates things. My bottom ones were so impacted that they had to break each tooth into four pieces and then rip out the chunks one at a time. So I'm lucky I did not get a fractured jaw like Marcia did in 2003. It needed to be done though, the infection, discomfort and constant halitosis related to their presence was a major nuisance for the past 4 years or so. The doc gave me vicodin (sp?) but my g/f had a few percosets saved from her last medical ordeal so I have been taking those. Dry-socket scares the hell out of me... when Marcia had hers extracted she smoked a few days after and then got dry-socket and from what I remember it was second only to her giving birth to Sofia but lasted about two weeks. All set with that, lucky for me I'm not addicted to cigars, I love enjoying a few in the course of the day but I can stop cold turkey whenever.
