  1. On the otehr hand, this car I am SERIOUSLY considering. http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/car/312302481.html That's right an ugly old winter beater 4dr hardtop. Yes, you read correct. It's four-fifty-five powered.
  2. I want this car. Someday I will have a early 1930s car. This much I know for sure! (I do think he's asking about $20,000 too much though) http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/car/314109476.html
  3. I also tend to come out on top if someone has the screws to me. Not always, but usually it makes me roll up my sleves & get to work.
  4. Buying a Prius is NOT a good deed!!!
  5. Dear lord, now THAT is a great way to "waste" money on a modern car! Another "if I ever win the lottery" possibility.
  6. I still love it but it should be called Skylark or Regal NOT Riviera. Not that it will see production...
  7. If I had the gas money that's all the excuse I need to go to Carlisle.
  8. No, never. My '68 Camaro was driven at safe & prudent speeds and it was not in any way involved in burnout competitions, drag racing, getting burnout photos published in Car Craft and it also had nothing to do with my loss of driving priveleges as per the Mass RMV.
  9. mortal
  10. What's this about the GMT-360 being phazed out? Please tell me it's not being replaced by some POS front-biased-AWD, transverse mounted V6 crapbox with a unibody chassis... The best thing about the GMT-360s was the I6 motors. I love inline sixes.
  11. For me the biggest reason is $$$. That's the way of the world. Otherwise my rainy day daily driver would be a 1959 Invicta flattop & my daily driver for sunny days would be a 1931 Cadillac Dual Cowl Phaeton ohv V16. Then my weekend car would be a Duesenberg SJ roadster with a rumble seat.
  12. - 1973 Cadillac Sedan deVille (four door hardtop) - 1929-ish Ford Model A pickup in hunter green - 1968 Buick Skylark convertible, tripple black, damaged front bumper
  13. Yup... the radiator support really is about 14" further back than you'd expect. It's all good, the motor beig set back as far as it is makes for an exact 50/50 weight distribution just like a BMW M3 or a Corvette. FYI: There's about two dozen new pics. posted on Page 2 of this thread as of this morning, some photos of the car all over Boston including next to Fenway on Opening day and and side by side with the Super 88.
  14. Holy $hit that looks HOT!!! God dang I want to live in China all of a sudden.
  15. What ever. Say congrats. He bought it used so there's no hard feelings on my end.
  16. Sorry about the foul language.... of the thousands of strong opinions I hold the topic of RWD is THE biggest one, followed by the lack of manual trans. in today's cars & the pathetic absence of pillarless hardtops in today's cars. That's it right there... if I had three wishes from a Genie: 1. 75% RWD (only V8 & I6 powered) cars in GM's lineup. 2. Every car except for full size Buicks & Caddys AVAILABLE with manual trans. 3. At least ONE four door hardtop (SIXTEEN) & at least four 2-door hardtops.
  17. I'm certain there's a way to adjust it mechanically. Computers never make life easier. I love old cars for this reason, there's always a simple and logical way to fix a problem. There is something to be said for a car you can work on, a car you can take appart and put back together with your own two hands. A car that has more metal in just the frame than is found in an entire 2007 m.y. car.
  18. I do not have the time and energy to invest in this thread, but you all know where I stand. f@#k Global Warming. Give us RWD now!
  19. I was joking with XP about how my '59 LeSabre was a McLoughlin Buick since the spedo is off by so much it almost seems it's in KM/HR. At 100 mph on the spedometer the car was actually only going about 70mph which means that in Kilometers it would translate to 110 or so. On the way back from NH the other day I let XP drive the battleship & he eded up being the first one to bury the needle at 120. Granted we were going about 80mph maybe 90mph. At 100 on the spedo we were in the middle lane on Rt.3 & people were passing us in the fast lane.
  20. Well it still LOOKS like it's a wannabe Altima from the rear. As far as the Inline-6 was that the Suzuki Verona?
  21. I would imagine if you take appart the dash & instrumet cluster and manually reset the spedo drum by rotating it into place you would be all set. Easier said than done, right?
  22. Winter arrived very late so I guess it's staying late too... I know, it sucks.
  23. I can see how that might happen seeing it is a big rotating drum but it has not happened to me yet, not that I plan on drivig it like a jackass.
  24. Now that I own a 1959 Buick an "older" Buick to me conjures up a pre-war survivor.
