  1. Wow... that's a funny pic. but if it was my car Saab or not I'd be pissed. If it was just some random SAAB I happened to buy as a daily diver I'd be more pissed about the incovenience of a rental and the other bullshit associated with it. But as Aaaaantoine said: that's why the shops have insurance. BUT, imagine this was something I cared about like my '79 Coupe DeVille... I'd be pretty pissed off!
  2. Wow, I had always assumed they built something like 200 of them... I must have at least 70 photos of Vectors in all differetn colors that I've 'right clicked' over the years. I guess repainting the original car and showig it off for a decade will do that. Carol Shelby did the same thing wiht the original AC Corba roadster.
  3. One time while working at Chevy of Lowell I traded in a 1997 Cadillac STS with 101,000 miles on the odometer. The car was pretty nice and since we only gave him $6500 for a trade in value I thoguht I'd pick it up. A few of my co workers told me to just get the Assistant manager to bullshit the paperwork and buy it at $6500 for the dealer before the owner even sees the car.... after all that's exactly how one of the other salesman had bought his used 2001 Catera. $0 profit to the dealership. What did I do? I decided to do the 'right thing'. I went riht to the owner and told Mr. Lanan that I wanted to buy this STS for my myself & Girlfriend and that I'd arrange al the financing and hammer out all the details, otherwise I'd take the car as is, no safety check, cleanup, oil change and all the other bullshit they do to all used cars. I offered $6900. In other words $400 profit just because the car sat in his parking lot for ONE day. So what does Mr. Lanan say to me? "Look kid you made me a decent chunk of change just by selling that Silverado the guy traded this in on so let's just say $6700 and the car is yours!" NO actually, I'm kidding. I wish he had said that. He said he'd look into it.... The next day he walked past my deska and dropped off a piece of paper wiht $7900 highlited... it was the average auction value for that year/model STS in the N.E. area. So what did I do? Did I say Screw this, I'm not giving him $1400 profit just because it took up a parking spot for one night! NO. I was a retard and said "Fine" drove to Worker's Credit Union and got a loan for $7000, and payed the rest with a credit card. So let's recap.... I made the company about $3000 gross profit when I sold the Silverado. My cut (commision) out of that was like $600. Then I bought the very same car I had negotiated the trade in on and gave the owner $1400 for it even though he never touched it. No clean up, no safety check, no auction fees or commisions... NOTHING! Just because he's the man who ownes the dealership and I (being a retard) did not want to be a cocksmootch and buy it before he even saw it on the books. So I ask you? Do you think I have good luck wiht Freebies? <_<
  4. Copywrite that before Foxworthy blurts it out on Comdey Central! :P  After all Paris Hillslut tradmerked "That's Hot" <_<
  5. Razor: Last night I was flipping through the channels and when I stopped at Speed, Sofia seemed pretty entranced my the Monster Trucks flashing on the screen... I left it on and walked away to grab some dinner, but out of the corner of my eye caught a pile of BOF cars from the 1980s being driven over by some stupid Excursion w/ military axles. The really crazy part: there was not one but TWO 1980s Ford/Mercury Full size coupes in there. I could not believe that. WTF are the chances of them destroying two in one night when they are as rare as Eyebrows on eggs these days? Again, nothing even close to a '59 Buick or '61 Caddy but still wrong regardless fo the year. Seriously, which of these deserves to be crushed? Honda Civic Toyota Corolla Hyundai Excell Ford Crown Victoria Coupe LX Mercury Grand Marquis Super Coupe These things are even near-impossible to find online. Carguy: Nope, he's got a fine collection today and seems to treat them well, but it does NOT excuse this savage act and begs the question: why the hellwould you advertse this kind fo brutality? It's like he's proud of it. WTF???
  6. True, I think it's safe to say if you spent your last cent on a used 1992 Sunbird and the down payment for your insurance you will be more carefull to not destroy your car than some prick who just bought a $50,000 Corvette for shits and giggles, has twelve other cars and a half million in the savings account.
  7. Don't hold strong opinions about subjects you are not very familiar with. You have 5 posts on this forum, stop before you insist that you've got the 411 on the Camaro and read some of the other threads on here... the Camaro is coming. It WILL be here... if you only read between the lines you'll see that. NOS makes a great point as well, Dodge/Chrysler cars tend to be heavy and the HEMI, as awsome as it is, is no lightweight either. I'd rahter have a smller, more compact engine and loose 30 HP given the choice. :)
  8. I've got a theory about DeJavus.... it's a combination of things I've heard from psychiatrists & Dicsovery Channel shows on the human brain. I've experienced them myself and it is a very starnge feeling.
  9. The resemblance to my Datsun (it's closest ancestor from 1984) is uncanny! :P  Too bad it does not talk in a Nonthreatening Female voice like my Bitchin Datsun!
  10. I keep fogetig to mention, I too think the current gen. M45 is one fo the nicest Japanese cars ever made!
  11. Those headlights are GOD-awfull... srt or not.
  12. That makes it that much more useless... if it competes wiht the Sport-track then why is it much more closer in size to an Avalanche?
  13. Newbiewar: The 348 was the BIG block that appeared in '58. It ended up in trucks and on NASCAR circuit more often that anywhere else. LA: Don't forget the "Elephant motor" (426 Hemi)
  14. It seems like every time sme new super-rare exotic sports car hits the streets in about 35 minutes there's already a totalled one on WreckedExotics.com Rich people smash up a lot of cars.
  15. Hmmmm... I can see your point Ocnblu. I rememerbwhen the GM rep. came to Chevy of Lowell and I mentioned how the "Biscayne tail lights" bothered me on the 2000-up Impala and he said "But it DOES have three per side... the back up is just mounted INSIDE the inner reflector" to which I said then according to that rule a classic 1965 (just to pick a random year) actaully has FOUR tail lights per side. Take a close look...
  16. IMHO: Still better to have lived life to the fullest and bite the bullet rather than live to a ripe old age only to have a lifetime of regrets. No one ever tells their grandkids about their Shoulda-Coulda-Woulda memories. Although even in the early 1970s you think they would have used more hay and less cardboard. :P
  17. Wow... cool Razor. That's a very good possibility. It's esp. tempting because there's a good chance the Ponchos will kick some Lexus butt! I'll write it in my calendar. :) Remind me again in the spring just in case I forget.
  18. Yup. Sounds like a pasta dish at Olive Garden.
  19. If I ever have Bill Gates kind of money I'll try out my buddy Ross's idea for a practical joke. Pull up to the pits at the Demolition Derby and try to register a Concourse Delegance Restored Duesenberg worth $2,000,000 in the V8 race. Then after I tell the guy behind the counter that I'm just kidding and get him to join in the prank I'll pretend to get all get all pissed off and start screaming: "Are you kidding me? What's the differance!? Straight-Eight, Vee-Eght it's all the same! Fine, I'll take my $50 entrance fee to the Hudson Speedway Races!" Fire up the Deusenberg in front of all those perplexed people and drive off... We have also talked about buying a Stanley Steamer or a Simplex and driving it down the street with a buddy in a R.R. Engineer's overalls and keep yelling "MORE COAL!" while speeding through some yuppie town all while wearing welding goggles and an old 1930s leather Football helmet. Just imagine.... Smiles gallore all around.
  20. Yup... nothing wrong with Rob Zombie but I was feeling like a Kitty cat referance again. G/Fs Tatoo got old but Hobbes was TOO perky.
  21. Wow... just out of curiosity since I always repect your oppinion and you always have deep insight, do you dislike the lower fins? My biggest gripe w/ the '59/'60 is that from 3/4 angles they look like Submarines. There's almost an Ameba shape to the rear qurters and the fins are too organic. That having been said I'd take a '59 Cadillac over 99.9% of the worlds cars including exotics. The '61 esp. has really grown on me over the past few years. It's a close second to the '59 Buicks in terms of coolest fined cars ever IMHO.
  22. Yup, time is very relative in my dreams as well... but it goes in both directions. I've woken up from what seemed like a 20 minute dream only to realise I slept 7/8 hours. Go to bed at 12:00, wake up and think, woah, is it 1 or 2 am andyou look at the alarm clock and it's 7:30. I love the dreams where your subconscious KNOWS it's a dream. Anything is possible and you ind of begin to realize it. Walk up to the sexiest chick you'd never even work up the nerve to talk to and just grab her @$$ and plant a wet kiss on her lips.... instead of a slap you get a big smile and a raised eyebrow. That's when I'm like screw this: I'm taking this '63 Split window for a drive. You get in, of course it's a 4-speed, and the gas tank is full.... Z06 none the less so you've got a range of like 700miles. Let 'er rip! :D
  23. Just a few short years ago I was driving a Mercury XR7 and was not even a Ford fan.. the car kind of fell inot my lap and I was desperate for a nice daily driver V8 RWD car with a comfortable cabin. Book value of the car was not much, it had the typical horrific Ford stereo/tape that sounded like a CB radio, the rocker panels had some rot and the damn heater core was going but STILL I felt bad when a girl sideswiped it in my front yard so violently she totalled it. (& her Grand Am & the neighbor's Mistubishi) Same wiht my '83 Firebird. It's a throwaway car to most. Esp. with 183,000 miles and a salvage title, crate 350 nonwithstanding. That does not mean I would ever total the car in some aluminum baseball bat frenzy w/ a bunch of drinking buddies.
  24. Ummm... it was an article about a kid almost killed in a Neon SRT4... I posted it with a title eluding to the dangers of wreckless driving. I did not scan the whole 17 megabites of crap on the site. It was a mistake, I appologize dand explained that the animal torture thing was unbenounced to me. Is that all you've got...? that was December of 2004. Get a life you're not a moderator anymore for a reason. PM me if you want to contine this pissing conteest instead of following me thread to thread adn instigating.
  25. Can't speak for M84 but IMO: 78% Borrowed, 20% blatantly ripped off & 2% ugly. Like most of the Honda/Toyota/Mitsubishi lineup. :o
