Satty: For what it's worth, after Nissan/Infiniti Suzuki is my favorite Japanese car manufacturer... maybe you remember when I mentioned it when I worked t the big Automotive group last year... they had Chevrolet & Cadillac where I worked & then across the street they had A Suzuki, Hyundai & Mitshubishi dealership. Their warranty and initial quality was impressive, I loved the Grand Viara, it's the LAST TRUE MINI-SUV still on the market... built like a mini Cherokee, THICK unibody "rails" resembling a truck frame, no "car based" pussifiation and you can even get a 5-speed manual. The SX4, while not my cup of tea is a FAR better value than the Civic/Corolla/Versa crapboxes.

We'll keep buying RWD/RB-AWD, and if three decades from now that means having to step up to a used, 15y.o. S-class Mercedes 'cause every single domstic is FWD, including the Corvette then so be it. --- Now as far a the "Bustleback" theory how sad that styling hs gotten that lame.... a goofy 4" cut line on the bumper cover makes us look for a bustleback connection. It's like Balthazar wrote in the other thread about modern car styling sucking! The proportions of this Lincoln, the front overhang specifically leaves me dry heaving.

As much as I hate rubber timing belts used to drive metal components like the heavy valvetrain on V6 DOHC motors... this seems like a good use for a "belt" esp. if carbon fibre. Human power coupled with a belt is okay... but no one in the history of cars has ever gotten their shoelaces stuck in the timing chain of an SBC 350.

Even as a dumb kid back in high-school, ('93-'97) already a self-proclaimed Republican, I was very much disgusted with the idea of what we call "FREE" trade and an open market.

The proportions/profile are still disgusting ....FWD-gasmic. The fascia is a HUGE improvement though... from head on it's actaully handsome.

My backup plan is to hit up every sperm/blood/tissue donor bank in New England... twice a week.

The quirky "boomerang" style headlight/tailight design language works much better here than in the Maxima, and I like the move, subtleas it may be to the Datsun 240Z retro-esque styling. One gripe: That glued in rear-side window... its a decent size from the outside but the actual GLASS area is the size of a Bolivian Air Mail postage stamp.
