GM Studies Killing Saab, Saturn, Pontiac
Databoutsayzitall. In other news maybe someday I'll buy a new car... like a Mercedes Benz CLK500 if I have the money, that is a car that owes no apologies. -RWD -V8-powered -Sturdy, Rigid chassis (you know "overweight" like a Zeta) -Hardtop All the things a classic GM car USED to be before they decided to shove W-body four door sedans down our collective throats for two decades as a solution to the mediocre 1970s downsizers.

Um, wow...

It's NOT a Porsche
WMJ swoops in for the win. Tatras fascinate me. They're the coolest thing with four wheels to come out of my homeland. And for those who do not know the name comes from the TATRA mountain range in Slovakia, though the car & truck manufacturing was mostly tied to the Czech Republic. Here's a few places to check out the 411 on Tatra: http://www.cars-directory.net/history/tatra/ http://www.tatra.demon.nl/cars_history_T97.htm http://www.tatraworld.nl/tatraworld-historypage.htm http://www.tatra-trucks.com/tatra-uk-company-history.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatra_T87

If GM is reduced to Chevy and Caddy
f@#king sad, this is. Balthy: Anything within 5-years is considered "new" by you? I'dgo as far as 7-8 years.

It's NOT a Porsche
This car was built in very small numbers due to the outbreak of a world war... it's a smaller cousin to a much more luxurious and sporty car that was V8 powered and considered in it's day the ultimate car for the Autobahn, perhaps the first ultimate, mass produced "performance sedan". The car in question was smaller, had a one piece windshield and a horizontally opposed, air cooled, flat four-cylinder motor instead of the V8, and it also had one less headlight than the aforementioned luxury sports-sedan. Name the cars I'm eluding to.

The Official MPG Thread
The Mercedes does 15 as expected. 15mpg average out of that Blitzen Benz is okay by me. It's heavy like a bank vault & also as sturdy and safe as one. Besides, I do 100+ MPH in it quite often when traveling to UPS at 2:00/3:00 AM.

2009 Los Angeles Auto Show Photos
Thanks for sharing. The CTS that looks blue with a gold sheem.... that is pretty weird, that color is called "gold-pewter" or something like that, last year, at my last job as a Chevrolet/Cadillac sales and leasing consultant  (salesman) I sold a 2007 Malibu in that color, the people LOVED it, I thought it was interesting but many customers hated it. It's kind of a chameleon color, goes from gold to bronze to pewter to slate-blue to sky blue.

The B-59 lacks seatbelts all together, front and back. But of course the car would not be much fun if I could not take Sofia along so I made a safe method of attaching her booster seat. I took a machete and cut two small slices in the seat cover right where the seatbelt should anchor to the booster seat, and then I used 800lbs. chain to hold the seat, attaching the other end to the stamped rails built into the trunk. It's a bit redneck-arific but I did explain nd show it to a curious cop, who then proceeded to raise an eyebrow, to which I said: "The seat is held in by the attachment points that were specified by the manufacturer, and CHAIN certainly is just as strong, if not more-so than seat belts, and my daughter is held in by the proper seatbelts built into the booster seat..." He could not help but agree.

De Lorenzo again
(if I my be so bold as to interject for Balthy) Balthazar has been saying for months that he is not really on either side. If you read his posts carefully he's been more of a devil's advocate than anything.

GM Studies Killing Saab, Saturn, Pontiac
Very true. Flip side of the coin: Killing Oldsmobile COST GM millions already AND it has been reported as most on here will remember that it would have cost GM less to KEEP Oldsmobile alive.... and in the end for what? Euthanizing Olds meant GM gave up market share. They have admitted that. So in other words killing brands is NOT ever going to be the answer unless the question is "How do you permanently reduce market share?" BUT If you have to kill a Brand Saturn & Saab are both leaches on GM's wallet and Hummer is a dirty word. (I personally like Hummer but I like GMC more)

My Ex refused to EVER buckle her seatbelt... EVER. Even after I got her a matching-tan colored fuzzy anti-neck-rubbing thing-a-ma-gig for the belt in the Cadillac STS so that her "it chokes me" excuse would be put to sleep. And wanna hear something even funnier...? Julie will not wear her seatbelt to save her life either & after much arguing I decided to pick my battles & let it go... So I guess I deserve points on my license & financial loss because of my wife's choice.

Sorry Balth. I cannot agree with you here. BUT How about some OTHER random questions: The cop could take your license & reg. & ask you to repeat all the info back, like the name, address, DOB, vehicle make, model, year & such stuff. ---- Now THAT IS COMPLETELY BULL$HIT!!!!

How LOW can you GO?
When I started driving back in 1995at 16 years old, gas was routinely under $1.00 in the no-name stations... My Pontiac almost always got PREMIUM to the tune of $1.19 or so.

Back Home In The USA One Day And ...
Well I agree 100%. BTW: While I almost ALWAYS wear my seatbelt and occasionaly give my friends & relatives a hard time for not, I do NOT agree with seatbelt laws, esp. where it's the only offense you got pulled over for.
