So I guess my topic was too much for the admins to handle?
Sixty8panther replied to FUTURE_OF_GM's topic in The Lounge
Agreed. Problem is, some people have the power to selectively censor one thread/person/post and not another, it is funny how some people can talk around a subject and never answer the original question... -
Looks like I can cleanup the barn tomorrow

Haaha-ha, O.B. With her appetite, love of sleep & a few facial features I'm told by most that her pedigree is unquestionable. Mom & baby are home from the hospital as of last night and all is well.... I remember Sofia sleeping a LOT as an infant, I know that's hat babies do, but Amelia is just on whole 'nother level! Like Julie likes to say, "Sleeping is her super-power!" -

This is not the one Clark Gable ordered....

That grille, those sweeping lines, aircraft like streamlined split windshield, low mounted single headlight and splashes of chrome... And that's just the cosmetics, the supercharged inline-8 under the butterfly hood... later replaced by an (approx 27 liter) aircraft V12, well let's just say this just might have been the inspiration for about a half million pre-war Jalopies that were, in the '40s, '50s & '60s modified with the help of a BIG (nailhead, hemi, rocket, sbc...) V8 motor. This is the Hot Rod Demi-God, the Holy Grail, the ultimate variant of the ultimate car from an era that will never be trumped in style, grace, man's quest for perfection and the gritty, blood-sweat & tears of men who were MEN! No computers, no ABS, no tire warmers & DMPFI, just a man with balls driving a rocket with four wheels across a dry salt lake bed, 70% seat of his pants, 30% calculated risk, 0.00% pie chart. --- While the bumper is quite spectacular I prefer the race-track-ready look of the car with just the red frame rail caps on the front. -
but damn I want it... just felt like sharing that.

Yeah, as much as I love my PILLARLESS Mercedes I would be very tempted by a CTS-estate if I lived in Germania. -
Saw that one on a pickup worthy of TIGHT WHIPS recognition.... some scummy, beat up primered 1970s Dodge... or was it Ford.

- - - - WMJ: The B-59 is sitting patiently, safe and sound under a car cover, for me to get off my a$$ and rebuild the 364... there was an engine fire that occurred this past January, & I have not found the time and the last $200 or so I nee to get her running again. It WILL happen, Amelia's impending arrival was a part of the reason why work stalled.

One more quick (crappy cell phone) picture; -
The 1995-2002 M.Y. Buick-derived-3800 V6 powered Camaro & Firebird were in their day capable of keeping up with Mustang GTs, which while no match for the LT1 or LS1, were not exactly dogs. I have driven several4th gen. F-bodys with 3800 power, and had I not been scared of two car payments since I was still paying off my 1997 Cadillac STS that I bought as a 5-yr old used car, I would have bought a particular 2002 Camaro with ONLY 11,xxx miles on it, it was a "hardtop" coupe (no t-tops) & powered by the 3800. It had very minimal options and to make it sweeter still it was a 5-speed. If I had the money at the time I would have made that car my daily driver/winter beater, since my EX was driving the STS at the time. All B.S. aside, while slow compared to my all out drag car '68 Camaro that was borderline illegal for the street, that 3800 powered 4th gen pulled & chirped the as well if not better than many a 350TBi & 305TPI third gen cars I had driven over the years. I whole-heartedly endorse your flirtation with a Fireball-Buick powered 4th generation F-body, esp. if you can find a 5-speed!

It was built during, as your great-grandfather might say, "the BIG ONE!" It was short-lived and a power plant of its type, at an affordable price was introduced 15 years later by a rival manufacturer, only to go unchallenged for 23 MORE years by the original manufacturer.

It's like you pull the pin out of the grenade, throw it into your OWN foxhole as your buddies stare dumbfounded, and run away screaming: "I know what I'm doing, stay right where you are, I'll be back in a couple years!" I'm kidding Oldsmoboi, and for what its worth it was last night when XP & I were talking that we decided that if you're running away to Germany you should not have a vote in an election that effects THIS country. The one that you're leaving. All joking aside, I wish I could take the B-59 on the Autobahn, maintain a steady 100+ (she's done it) and just stare over casually and wave at the stupefied kids in their VW MkIV Golfs, BMW 320s and Opel Astras... -
The Benzo got a nice long sip of regular last night to the tune of $2.299/g, that's def. a huge improvement over the $4.599/g I was being charged to fill up the Banana in the middle of the summer, but I'd be even happier if we got to $1.8xx/g like many of you. It really might be time for that old school Pontiac hardtop I keep dreaming of... perhaps some late '60s Catalina or Grand Prix... powered by a healthy Pontiac iron block 400.

Balthy: Yes, yes.... how could I forget Carmen Electra. ....and, Alicia Silverstone Not "Clueless-Alicia" but "Aerosmith-Music-Video-Alicia") Amen. There's nothin better than some "cushion for the pushin" Haha-ha! You've always had a way with words XP, I swear you say some of the dumbest $#it but word it so I almost piss myself. I think that is half the reason Amanda is with you, you get her going like a hyena at times. I still think this is friiikin hillarous. Great teamwork! - - This thread NEEDS to be resurected. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...3606&st=120 - - -

Funny cause it's true. Or, a sticker on the back of said ('67) Delmont 88 that says: "I'd rather be fishing at Chappaquiddick" That's actually a poor joke, not for Teddy-Kennedy's poor actions and the lack of punishment for his horrible crimes but for that poor girl's lost life, cut way short by a selfish, piece of garbage, self-serving politician.

Also kind of funny, yes the thread might have started with an UN-P.C. angle but the last 30% of the thread was a silly game of ping-pong between Reg. & me about my obsession with hardtops & our shared love of Kate Winslet. Nothing offensive there. ...unless you DON'T like chubby/curvaceous chicks in which case you can go $%@&* yourself cause you're just plain &!$# wrong and I #*$% hate your guts. :AH-HA_wink: -

I'm gonna vote for "Candidate-X" because I beleive in his matra and I beleive in change & this country. So I'm moving to D_ _ _ _ _ land to show just how confident I am in his leadership. I'm kidding. (mostly, somewhat...)
