P.S. Croc: If you piss & moan for a half dozen threads about how someone else is holding a grudge or being a hypocrite, and even state specific threads from the not-so-recent past where said poster rubbed you the wrong way you run the risk of appearing like you have your panties in a bunch and have a vendetta.

Agreed. I think perhaps we operate on the same brain-wave length... The thing is, I'm sure you've got some liberal views, just like i do, neither one of us is a prude or a bible-toting nutcase, I have no alegiance to ubber-conservatives, I'm agnostic and there's days I'd almost call myself an aetheist just to distance myself from the peope who try to shove the whole "the bibe (and by extension the people who wrote it 2000-4000 yrs ago) says your personal life choice is EVIL" crowd... except for abortion past the 1st trimester, modern science shows us when the "fetus" has a heart beat and at that point it's murder, the only two exceptions I wouldn't agrue with is if the pregnancy is threatining the mother's life and/or if a rape caused the pregnancy.

Oldsmoboi: I do not wish to anger people or lose friends on here... and I know there's a lot of "Bush is the devil" & "liberals for Obama" sentiment here, but let me just say this: Bush sucks, but most of my anger w/ him is his lack of respect for individual rights, & stubbornness about Iraq... Now let me tell you the four things I HATE about (most, or maybe , at least some) Liberals: 1. bleeding heart mentality, turning scum of society into victims 2. anyone with a conservative point of view is a redneck or bible thumper 3. why NOT negotiate with terrorists? war is not the answer! 4. you should be only allowed to own a firearm if you're a criminal and DO NOT register it.

WTF ar you talking about...? He made a valid point, he was jus saying that it's "hot in the kitchen" ot tht he needed "out"... If tht post was an attack, it was only an attack on POLITICA THREADS! He was not "crying", but meerly saying that it's pretty damn impossible to have a thread about politics and stay perfectly "politically correct"
-
Yeah Bush sucks but way too many people think the fate of the entire planet rests on him leaving office.....it's rather sad that he's been the potential scape-goat for everything from global warming to the housing crisis and gas prices. I think it was Howe Carr who said: paraphrase
-
Also, on a side note.... you Dems./Liberals are sooooooo original. 80% of the jokes about McCain are recycled Bob Dole jokes from 1995 and 1996. Seriously, including THAT one, it's all mildly amusing observational humor based on the fact that McCain, like Dole, are old & have gray hair. Guess what? George Washington, Roosevelt and many other past presidents. I'm all set having some green-horned youngin'in office.

Croc: So what? Blu responded with and left it at that, it's certainly not inappropriate or out of line. What's your complaint with it? That was one of the most civilized posts in this entire thread!

Balthazar: You just don't GET IT.... liberals are into the "trendy" candidates & right now it's VERY trendy to hate the USA! That's why you see so many of those "1-20-09" stickers on Toyotas, Hondas & other foreign brands. Peope like Obama would rather see the USA burn to the ground than grow some balls and stand up for what is right... It's not poloitially correct to love the USA and want it to remain the best country in the world.... "self loating" is the newet thing. Well said.

XP just texted me about this: http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/cto/829787633.html Soooooo.... maybe I'll list the RoadmOnster on craigslist and see if it sells.

I'm prettty sure they were both functional on the GMs... why NOT have them be functional? Sure, I love the look, but if one is not wired in than that's juststupid and lazy... back in the 1950s & 1960s, GM was NOT lazy, it was not a hollow shell of its' former self like today. --- Now as far as the windshield mounted Antena, my buddy's '79 Citation and a few of the cars I have owned and/or driven with them 'recepted' just fine.

I interupt your day for some randomness...
Sixty8panther replied to Sixty8panther's topic in The Lounge
Oh stop it Eyore, you just gotta find your tail & stop the sighing. All joking aside, you make a great impression, cheer up. -
Wow, this is both the most uplifting & most depressing thread of the day. I see your point K.F.
-
oh, and btw: congrats to your dad!

Am I the only one pissed at RegF for never mentioning his dad's Corvair until after it's sold?!?! What year? model? |Story? I [less than three] Corvairs soooo much
-
Hey KnightFan, would you consider a Buick...
Sixty8panther replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in The Lounge
I'll sell you a "RoadmOnster 9C1" real cheap. The rust, sloppy welding & faux-cop car equip are free of charge but my 5-gallon gas drum, 40" crow bar & the other random tools in the trunk will be extra. high three digits will be acceptable. -
Right. it's just such a pie in the sky scenario. As far as the inflation/deflation problem, that's a big part of the overall economic situation right now... imho
-
You def. drink plenty of that "FWD-cookie-cutter-sedan-from-GM-E.U." Koolaid. Sad but true.

one neccessary evil (very minor inconveniance) is that when you buy an old beater you need to be very thorough in cleaning the contacts on the battery & even more so the cables (terminal cap or screw). Side-terminal batteries agrevate me so much, esp. on modern GM cars the my 1997 STS where there was litteraly 3/4" more cable than absolutely neccessary, so it had me swearing up a storm and left my hands all cut up & bloody everytime I needed to do ANYTHING to the battery, so now I often times convert newer GMs to top-post. modern =/= better

Sooooo.... flat-8? I'm lost. ---- Getting back to my "wham-bam-thankyoo-mam-V16, it's miller time" idea: :AH-HA_wink: Of course if I had the money I'd pay top-dollar to a top-notch engineer to use the blueprints to the 452 and crank 'em out not only for myslef but for other entusiast who want somthing extra-special in their hot rod, custom or under the butterfly hoods of pre-war classic. THAT being said I think it would be fun to hodge-podge together a redneck-V16 from two "pedestrian" V8s, drop the whole damn thing into a scummy Cadillac hardtop with ample patina * giant tailfins (or Rat Rodded pre-war car) & then blow people's minds, well most of the "OMG it's a V10 motor" crowd. The bonus would be saying "yeah, I got like $17,000 in the car" ...but I also have to cut that MIT engineer's lawn for the rest of my life & repaint his fence every 2 years.

FUTURE PRODUCTS -- GENERAL MOTORS
Sixty8panther replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in Heritage Marques
AMEN. That's why I get worked up.... people shoot their mouth on here about GM & cars in general as if it was the line at the super market and they were shooting the $h! about the weather... but I, like many here, am a car enthusiast to a degree most of you can not appreciate... To imply that a '57 Pontiac is a '57 Chevy with a different grille is criminal, I thought the same when I was 12 years old but now I know better.... -
hahaha.... good stuff.
-
Probably VERY unlikely with either... any prez.
-
I agree KF, more nonsense! also see this thread: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...mp;#entry425300
-
What nonsense.... I'd be pissed as a taxpayer to hear that! Who was hurt by a plate starting with WTF? What fu%$ing harm could have befallen babies, small shildren & elderly voters if those plates had been used? Stupid puritanical nonsense!!! I $%#%ing hate that this entire country has turned epically-stupid. I mean seriously, "WTF" is not even a pseudo-swear.

There you go.... honest to god 20+ mpg out of a respectable G-body that will put a smile on your face, keep your wallet fat by avoiding 79% of the Bull$hit repairs that a typical high milage Civic or Corolla will experience. BOF-RWD-pushrod.... durable as ANY truck, tough as nails & comfortable. Def. worth sacrificing 5 or 7 mpgs compared to most delicate, CV-jointed, rubber timing belted, less safe & abuse-resistant unibody FWD-ers that size.
