So the radio says (Hurricane) Ike will hit Florida... The internet mentioned (Hurricane) Ike might hit No. Carolina and/or Florida Meantime the TV says Ike might hit Georgia & Louisiana, But I think if anything, Ike will hit Tina Turner.
  2. $750 vs. $3500? 1:4 $ ratio.... and as cool as that Oldmobile is, esp. wwith the swiveling buckets, I have no desire to ever own another non-hardtop, 2 or 4 door. More and more I'm having a hard time justifying non-hardtops... there's so many reasons why it's worth it to hold out for hardtop. and for $3500 I'd be buying another 1959 Buick or a pre-war car, not some 1970s colonade sausage-on-wheels.
  3. I wonder what is more of a time drain/distraction? 1. Bill Clinton's B.J. whores & cigar antics 2. G. W. Bush's Playstation-3 time? 3. Palin's 1 y.o. mentally challenged son
  4. You know how a few on C&G tell me that I'm consantly about hardtops, RWD, V8s etc... I have made my opinion clear and preach the err of their ways OFTE enough. Honestly, do I seem like the quiet & restrained type
  5. Seems you and I DO agree on quite a bit! So what, if we all march on washington if and when an evil oppressive government takes over they're going to nuke the whole population? Not likely.
  6. That is an erroneous & exreeme generalization. (not that I have naver been guilty of it here) I work in the union for UPS & it makes me sick to my stomach to admit this but the UPS parkig lot is fu&%ing LITTERED with Toyotas just as much, if not more than ANY parking lot in the same town! I FACT I am known as the guy how hates Japanese cars, esp. Toyotas by many of my union-membr co-workers (everyone except for the Supervisors, & mangment is unio at UPS) Just off the top of my head, of the dozen of or so friends I've made at UPS, here's the ones who's rides Iknow: - Tommy: 2003? Civic coupe - John: 2002? Tundra (only non-union person, my sup.) - Karen: 2004 Focus 3dr - Dave; 2008 Civic coupe - Super-hot chick, just hired: 200? Matrix - Nicole: 2007/8 Honda CRV - Chris: 2009 Yaris (just bought it 3 weeks ago) - Benn: 2005 Mazda MP3 - Tom: (late 1990*s) Tacomaex-cab - Matt: 2004-8 Accord - Kyle: 1996 SL Satrun sedan Now there are two more people of who's rides I know of... neither one of them work with me or even on my sideof the building but I got to be friend's with both of them ONY becuse of my months of daily driving the B-59 last fall and then this year the Banana boat, one has (his daily and ONLY driver year round) a 1972 Cadillac sedan deVille 4dr hardtop and the othr guy, owns a 86? Buick Cetury winter beater and a mid-1990s GMC 2500 4x4 pickup... BUT also in his & his dad's garage are a bunch of projects including a 1938 and 1937 Buick, several rare British cars, including a runing & driving Alard and (rotting in the weeds, amongst 3-dozen parts cars) a super rare 1952 Imperial. So, for obious reasons the GMC/Cetury & Cadillacdonot count. NOW what say you about union workers? Sad isn't it? I hate hypocracy.
  7. Bull$hit. The criminals have their pick at ANY weapons they can dig up on the black market, including firearms converted(back) to FULLY auto, to BAN ANY firearm for use by law-abiding citizens, (anyone without a criminlarecord) is by extenson not only 100% unconstitutional but also indirectly supporting violent crime! The only gun law I agree with is that anyone with a criminal record should never have legal access to one, altough they're always goign to be in the streets illegaly in high numbers in the real world, bleedaig heart-liberal propaganda & Bono aside! You think I'm passionate about hardtops, V8s and RWD? The 2nd amendment trumps all those put togehter. It's not ABOUT hunting or ANY "sport" or hobby involving firearms, it's about one thing: Our government should be AFRAID of its' people, NOT the other way around!
  8. Agreed Camino, like yesterday. ....and before I forget I am proud to call myself a Libertarian, IF I had to get "boxed in"
  9. First off , most people live in a gray-area... the world, or most of the world anyway, is NOT black & white. I picked conservative, because push come to shove anything but the most moderate Liberals are at heart , socialists or communists or in some extreme cases, modern-day-nazis. Hitler was the first modern political leader to 1st REGISTER and then systematically take away a whole population's firearms, & we all know where THAT got Germany... I grew up in a socialist country & I firmly believe that many of the same liberals here in the USA that preach ultra-liberalism, are just naive idiots that lack a firm grasp on the ugly, cold hard truth of human nature & society. In the real world, some people are lazy and useless and do not EVER deserve a handout, some criminals esp. violent ones and ANYONE who hurts a child or has been proven guilty of rape, will NEVER get rehabilitated, and should IMHO just be eliminated from the gene pool no questions asked, that is the only way to deal with the cold hard reality of child abuse, rape & other evil crimes. The reality is thousands of illegals come into this country every year, now think about how much SMALLER & easier to conceal a firearm is compared to a person, guns, will ALWAYS be easily available to criminals, so to constantly attempt stricter, more elaborate & very arbitrary rules for the LEGAL, law abiding citizens who REGISTER their firearms is disgusting. Gun laws aimed at law abiding citizens who have REGISTERED guns are PRO-CRIME laws that perpetuate the cycle of violence , plain and simple, if you can't see that then IMHO you are a waste of human life & just another communist zombie. Without the 2nd amendment the 1st would be in constant jeopardy! ---- I'm technically in the EU since I'm still not a US citizen... Slovakia is in the EU now.
  10. Oh agreed, I've already done some considerable floor repair to the RoadmOnster w/ a friend's help; (he owns the welder) This thing is ugly as sin, what a gross car, even for M.Y. 1974 it's pretty hideous, but I do love the hardtop body style, inline six motor and the indestructibility of these kraut-wagens. I'm just unsure weather I want to get involved w/ yet another project right now, I NEED to give the B-59 the attention it needs, and this is yet another distraction.
  11. Wow... and once again GM leaves me speechless, NOT in a good way. The overall styling? Blandis an understatement, esp. for a M.Y. 2011, speaking of which, usually you do not inroduce product TWO years before the launch date, talk about cock tease! And that thick, gross gloss-black trim under the Greenhouse? I"ll reserve my final judgement untill 2010 when I actually see a real production model, but so far all I ave to say is: Honestly...WTF is this? Some kid of GM-take on those "Hot Firefighters" calendars aimed at post-menopausal women and gay men? Ridiculous.
  12. I'd rock that bitch like yuppies rock Lexi & AcCuri. Rusty Jones is a legend!
  13. 1979-LS&-powered-Corvette: You make some excellent points..... Speaking of the economy the dot-com & Y2K boom shielded and put off temporarily the $hitstorm that was headed our way, predicted by Perot and other peope in the know, and made much worse by Sept.11.
  14. The Tweel thing both excites me and scares me..
  15. Now THAT is funny. If I had $10,000 (minus $1) to blow on a ragtop it would probably be a '67 Corvair or a '71 Eldorado or a '64 Catalina not -this-
  16. yup... noted. I'll try my best in the future.
  17. It's true... I'm like a blind guy with a dull knife
  18. I'd never pay $3000 for it, but it's something I've never seen or even heard about. I guess it's worthy of saving being an Olds & all....
  19. LOL at O.B. (do they sell male blow up dolls? is the air-valve stem on the penis?) I wanted to go to the New England Air show tomorrow.. not looking good right now.
  20. Past six weeks or so: 1. 1968 Dodge Charger, black with flat black scallop stripes. Julie actually saw this one like four times in our neighborhood and her descriptions included girl-lingo like: it was like one of those old-school classic muscle cars, from the sixties or whatever... BIG giant drag tires and it had those baby-rollerbalde tires mounted on bars that stick out from under the rear bumper like a REAL dragster, and it's mean and has something cool to look at from every angle! Turns out she was right, this Mopar dragster makes Vin Diesel's F&F Charger look like a Camry LE. By comparison, the average big-block powered, ready for the strip "pro-street" car is damn stock '75 Mustang II. 2. Nissan Sentra 2-door hatchback... (1988-1992?) NEVER seen one before, ever 3. '79 Camaro hardtop, 100% stock & original that was cleaner than an average Pierce Arrow on the lawn at Pebble Beach. I as driving the Benz and gave him a hearty thumbs up. It seemed to make him proud that some kid in an '80s yuppie rocket was giving his '79 Chevy a compliment. 4. late 1960s era Peterbilt (359) carrying a tank-long distance gun that (to my not-so-trained-eye) made a M1a Abrams tank look like a pea-shooter! [i got photos of this, thank god will post them soon....] 5. clone of our 500SEC, down to the paint, except with th ugly, bulky US bumpers, but customized with all-white (clear euro) lenses and a kickass set of 20" rims.
  21. no... can you elaborate? Is it like Sim-City but with trains/railroads?
  22. Yeah.... sorry what stupid thing did I word awkwardly now? Between my pregnant wife and the cat trying to sleep on my keyboard as well as the constant distraction of Food TV... Mmmmmm.... red meat & seafood, *drool* huh? what...? oh, right, so yeah I sometimes post redundant sentances or non-sensical pargraphs. That being said, can you be more specific as to this thread?
  23. P.S. Croc: If you piss & moan for a half dozen threads about how someone else is holding a grudge or being a hypocrite, and even state specific threads from the not-so-recent past where said poster rubbed you the wrong way you run the risk of appearing like you have your panties in a bunch and have a vendetta.
  24. Agreed. I think perhaps we operate on the same brain-wave length... The thing is, I'm sure you've got some liberal views, just like i do, neither one of us is a prude or a bible-toting nutcase, I have no alegiance to ubber-conservatives, I'm agnostic and there's days I'd almost call myself an aetheist just to distance myself from the peope who try to shove the whole "the bibe (and by extension the people who wrote it 2000-4000 yrs ago) says your personal life choice is EVIL" crowd... except for abortion past the 1st trimester, modern science shows us when the "fetus" has a heart beat and at that point it's murder, the only two exceptions I wouldn't agrue with is if the pregnancy is threatining the mother's life and/or if a rape caused the pregnancy.
  25. Oldsmoboi: I do not wish to anger people or lose friends on here... and I know there's a lot of "Bush is the devil" & "liberals for Obama" sentiment here, but let me just say this: Bush sucks, but most of my anger w/ him is his lack of respect for individual rights, & stubbornness about Iraq... Now let me tell you the four things I HATE about (most, or maybe , at least some) Liberals: 1. bleeding heart mentality, turning scum of society into victims 2. anyone with a conservative point of view is a redneck or bible thumper 3. why NOT negotiate with terrorists? war is not the answer! 4. you should be only allowed to own a firearm if you're a criminal and DO NOT register it.
