  1. I'd hit that like a K-W900 with a severed air-brake line. Actually I'd even 'hit that' with Moltar's d!ck and Satty pushing.
  2. Hahhahahahaa!!!! Moltar made a funny. :lo: The closest I will EVER come to what you described will be if and when I buy a new of used (5th gen.) Camaro & complete; (or, prob. have a professional perform) the B-pillar delete & rear window regulator install. B-pillars are the devil's playthings. Or, perhaps, do same with the mega-sexy CTS-coupe. Then again, why not just buy a C.A.R.S. '69 Camaro hardtop shell, and install a LS1 or some other cheap motor after buying the rest of the car out of the Classic Industries/year one catalogs. SERIOUSLY, for the same $35,000 that buys you some piece of garbage Lexus of Acura FWD sedan four door, you can have a timeless classic that is also a practical daily driver. --
  3. Correct. So my options are: 1.) Grab straight razor, down the street, not across. 2.) stop giving a damn and continue to drive 1950s & 1960s classic RWD hardtops for the rest of my life, and buy a used CLK500 for Julie every few years... Reason number 836,546,502,137 why I just might forget about the Camaro all together & concentrate on my lastest life goal: Obtaining & daily-driving a Pre-War car.
  4. The term "beaten like a rented mule" comes to mind.
  5. Wow... way to insult GM you 45 time poster with a keen intelect. In 1992, Jay Leno, (the car-guy's car guy) bought a Dodge. Yes a fu&$ing DODGE. The same company that had a $9995 special on a mitsu-based Colt and still sold the g*d-damn brick-on-wheels Dynasty & puke-a-rific Spirit And yet Jay Leno paid $70,000 for a Dodge that year, just a decade or so after Chrysler corp. declared (in layman's terms) BANKRUPTCY. But all you synical-sissies will reminnd me every day for the next three decades how Cadillac has been busy selling cars for $32K-$70K, because G*d-forbid that we elevate Cadillac to the "standard of the world" it was for the better part of the last century. GM is tight on money & in dire straights because of exactly this kind of bull$h! & mediocre thinking. Let's get 'nother focus group together & hire a bunch of Nabisco executives, maybe we can make a Delta based Cimarron II & a theta based Asstek.
  6. - door skin (excluding the leading edge of the tailfin) - glass - window regulators - greenhouse (excluding some brightwork) - lock cylinders - radiator? - rear view mirror - gas cap - weather stripping for the doors - door handles, lock pulls - rochester-sourced carb - sealed beam headlights ??? That's honestly all I can think of
  7. That's the God's truth... I just can not care anymore. I refuse to get my hopes & dreams for the GM of tomorrow to get crushed again. GM stopped being GM in 1996 as far as I'm concerned... they've made a few (select) products since then that get an A- from me but I'm really starting to lose hope. This future that is starting to crystalize out of the cafe/rip:zeta/fwd-gallore fog is to me so very disgusting and sacriligious that I want no part of it, I do not care about a company that will roll over and die. If in a few years GM is nothing but a bunch of Opel & Daewoo rebadges then WhoTF cares that the buildings selling them have Pontiac & Cadillac logos attached toi their roof tops? Every time I open a thread like this I get a little closer to just giving up & not caring at all about modern cars at all. Why flip through an R&T or read a bunch of links about upcoming cars when they exhude only compromise & mediocrity. PCS: Your giddy attitude, self-righteous posts & seeminglyupbeat "I told you so" mindset makes me sick. Honestly I do not care for you and I feel people like you (with your love of GM's roll-over-&-die mentality) are destroying any & everything that I ever loved about GM. I'd rather see GM die a quick death and get absolved into Chrysler than see nothing but $h!ty FWD "2014 Opel Kaddets" roaming the streets in USA with Chevy & Buick logos 3M taped to their grilles.
  8. This makes me sick to my stomach... kind of like when you eat some bad seafood. Disgusting. Shame on you GM. $4/gal might have killed or maimed the Zeta platform, but the 12 years GM wasted with ZERO mainstream RWD product I can never forgive them for. Who knew, that cherry-maroon 1996 Impala SS that I sat inside of as a kid back in the spring of '96 was going to be the LAST RWD sedan from Chevrolet for over a decade!? I'm so damn mad I could spit fire.
  9. 1. How much is a FIXED roof A8 sedan with thick B-pillars? No less than $75K I know that much... prob. like $85K & $100K for the S8 (?) 2. I never asked for a Camaro with a retractable folding HARDTOP roof, even though the CTS-coupe could justify a retractable hardshell folding roof, but in any case I'm only intesrested in the less complex, less weighed down (pillarless, fixed) hardtop coupe for the modern era. Cadillac: CTS-coupe Buick: Riviera along the lines of a 2dr version of the 2000 LaCrosse concept Pontiac: G8 (DF's sig says it all) Chevrolet: Camaro hardtop. ---- But instead GM keeps investing billions into Saturn & SAAB. You get what you pay for. Attractive, interesting & exciting product does NOT start with a Opel or Daewoo rebadge.
  10. Huh!? Maybe if you like melted 1995 Ford Windstars...?
  11. Meantime, here at GM, we can't even get a fu&%ing hardtop CTS-coupe, ...nevermind the G8 coupe that was canccelled & the Camaro. It's getting REALLY hard to not hate GM again in c.y. 2008.
  12. Dude, I hear ya. Everything is going up-up-UP... except wages.
  13. Got the music on the M, T, V...
  14. more randomness: Some cool pics: http://bigpicture.typepad.com/writing/automobiles/index.html That lunatic Barris: ---- ugly to my eyes (some terrible details) but some of you may like:
  15. Oh, and I forgot the last part: Just like H.E. with his "GM LeSabre" concept car, I would daily drive it like it was a work truck or company car.
  16. Ummmmmm.... NO. What if I was running GM design like Harley Earl was in the 1950s though....? I'd build a 1930s retro, 4.0 liter V16 powered Cadillac LaSalle concept along the lines of the EFIJI, hardtop and all, teardrop ass, fat-fendered and with narrow-placed pod headlights coming off a tall, "art deco" grille-shell with more brightwork than a '58 Buick. And, as an added touch it would have some sort of tailfin(s) RWD, pushrod based V16 BTW, think two 1/2-scale SBCs fused together.
  17. WMJ: Dude, how dare you dissapear like that? The moderators & I have been worried sick... Welcome BACK.
  18. pre-war Pontiacs are awwww-sum.
  19. LMAO @ this whole thread. The best song ever is about 7 minutes long and the lyrics are but one sentace.
  20. Sick... I loved slot cars as a kid!!! For Christmas 1987 I got a figure-8 track with two 3rd gen. Firebirds (1 silver, 1 red) and two '84-up "Datsun-Nissan" 300ZXs, (1 gold 1 black w/ both Datsun & Nissan logos) Here's a gorgeous '36 Oldsmobile.
  21. Here-here!
  22. We'll see if Honda ever grows up and produces a V8...?
  23. How's the "monkey-$hit bronze" 455-powered Bi-Centenial LeSabre? And what's with the once-every-few-weeks-pop-ins on here? That Porsche 928 makes me drool.
  24. IIRC Carfax goes back (depending on the vehicle) to about the early 1980s. XP: You should be able to pull up a carfax on the blue schoolbus, I pulled up carfax reports on Kevin's '87 Crown Victoria, my '88 K/5 Blazer & even my '86 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham.
