If the Infinity G35 coupe was offered in a 2-door fixed roof hardtop bodystyle with a white leather interior & powered by their V8 mated to a fully manual trans. I'd have a freekin' Infiniti tatoo on my arm by now. --- If the FX45 was priced like a new Trailblazer LS & offered a fully manual trans. I'd be signing the papers right NOW! --- If the Maxima was not UGLY like a roadkill frog, and if it had all of my favorite features that my 1984 Maxi-Pad had as standard equip. I would be in love with it.... - RWD - over-built IRS - 4-wheel disk brakes - manual trans... as in THREE pedals not some retarded paddle shift crapola - Lightweight, tossable chassis - looooong nose, short deck proportiopns - INLINE-six, w/ timing CHAIN driven valvetrain - aaaaand, of course: the "vocalised warning system" (XP used to call it my "Datsun girlfriend" whenever she'd start talking) --- If the Honda S2000 had the EXACT motor that Honda uses in their F1 race cars and it cost $24,000 I;d be tempted. --- If the last gen. Celica had that same cool, wacky styling but also a TRUE pillarless hardtop greenhouse, RWD & a chain driven cammer motor mounted to a 6-speed manual trans & posi... well I'll tell ya THAT would make me proud to own a Toyopet. You can file that under: www.never.gonna.happen.com.org.net.us --- If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.... :AH-HA_wink:

Sweet.... you really mean it, we can pack the trunk full of plastique and drive it through the front lobby of the EPA? I will totally help you with that! You do realise that the EPA has a big HQ in Drum Hill, right? It's litterally across from the parking lot where I used to do my massive smokeshows and burnout contests between SP & his buddies & me in my '68 'Maro. The irony was lost on most people.

What kind of a dirty scumbag steals THAT!? If I ever WAS dumb enough to steal (cars) I would not steal something that you could never in a million years, with any amount of bulls#iting pass off as NOT stolen. Seriously what was his game plan, to tell the cops that it was "another Dodge-Plymouth" splice job & they're confused? "no, really... it's factory, really!" I hope that @$#% person gets ebola, to steal an insured yuppie-whip like a Bimmer or Lexus is one thing, but you do not, EVER even think about leaning up on the 1/4 panel of a Hot Rodder's custom/chopped car, stealing it is just a whole 'nother level of wrong! Stealing this kind of custom should be punishable by beheading.

I think the tail lights are okay... You know what the profile & nose remind me? It's like a very pissed off, more muscular version of the Sonata, which itself is a pretty clean design but a bit plain. Maybe this mom was a Cavalier Z24, and dad was a german-spec. Opel Astra, but with some cross breeding on the grandfather's side.... the cool, angry fascia is the Buick-Opel side of the family, which itself has some traces of '59 Buick DNA from the previous generation. Ohhh-kaaaaaaaay. Time to take my meds, or perhaps the problem is that I'm NOT really on any medication. (what's in this water?)

P.S. if you ever find that (now sold?) '59 Ply-odge I will trade you straight up for my 500SEC.

So I hereby move to make CMG the official "MOPAR-GRAND-WIZZARD-ULTRA" of the Tight Whips car club... CMG, seriously, you caught me on a bad day and I assumed that you, like most of the people on here, drive something that YOU consider exciting but would blend in at the local Wal*Mart parking lot on Senior Citizen Discount day... I now feel I must apologize, for with the vehicles you have owned/built, even if we divide & multiply by the square root of that Mitsu-Mopar Colt "By Dodge" you have an amazing vehicular portfolio. Kowing what I know now, you can call my Mercedes "bland" anyday! You are , for sure, one of the ELITE of the C&G crowd; my Canada is off to you, sir!
-
Dude, you gotta roll through L-city "Tight Whips" style with the '88 Sundance script ON the door, seriously, you should clear coat over it... There's something awesome about driving a car that looks like it's only good for packing the trunk full of explosives and putting a brick on the gas pedal after you point it at the EPA building! Not to beat a dead horse, but all joking aside, pay someone to weld up that structural rot. That cars' frame is going to break in half like one of those collapsed bridges.

Not bad at all as far as styling goes... this definately makes the Cobalt 4dr sedan look like a Daewoo.

It's not so much that I didn't LIKE vanishing point... truth be told it is, IMHO about No.49 out of my all time favorite "car guy movies" and in the end it just seems to have a very hollow & pointless plot. Both the new & old Gone in 60 Sec. are WAY better movies, as is Ronin & of course Bullit lays many faux-car-guy-movies to shame!

EVERYBODYS WANT THOSE CAR! Most popular model of "two doors and fixed rear window coupe with frameless door" variety. All joking aside, any of you guys remember, back in 2004 & 2005 when I used to post tons & tons of mild-to-SUPER-retro sketches of Camaros and the occassional FirePhoenix/TA & a good majority of the members of this forum (and 80% of the world) were busy telling me to STFU... there were THREE categories of people. 1. The beleivers, the true Camaro fans... you KNoW who you are, maybe we had our differances but in your heart of hearts you wanted to belive, you, as I, wrote to GM, discussed the 'concept' of an F-body resurection & 21st century muscle car niche market. 2. "Retro sux & a retro Camaro will never-ever-ever in a kabillion trillionty years happen! What's more there WILL never again be a Camaro, or muscle car, or even a two door car market..." 3. I hope the Camaro comes back but NOT retro, retro sucks! GM will NOT do retro! It's not 1967, get it through your fat, thick head... stop living in the past, move on... there's always the G6 coupe. To all the people who fall in No.2 or No.3: PLease, PLEASE make sure to post about how pathetic & lame my obsession with (pillarless) hardtops is & use very liberaly words like "NEVER, EVER & NOBODY" I'm not saying I'm freekin nostradamus but stranger things have happened than something I'm obsessed with coming back from the dead.

CTS Comes in 5th in Jalopnik's "10 most Beautiful Cars"
Sixty8panther replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Dr. Jeckl: Good job GM, this is great news, talk about "luxury car market" ------- Mr Hyde: Today's GM just can NOT live with a good thing for long, so just in case this Cadillac model was on any Mercedes Benz' fans list of cars to check out GM has a team of lackeys working hard to make sure that the big, fat cheap B-pillar ruins the coupe just enough to make it an ALMOST-ran competitor to the CLK & on par with other cheap modern $h!boxes... glued in rear side window glass & thick, gross plastic window frames inside. And don't you worry... if GM can manage it, they'll switch the entire Cadillac lineup to the FWD-only, freshly retooled ultra inexpensive "W-body II" platform by 2023, and then we'll have a fantastic lineup of luxury cars that will even rival Buick's impressive collection of FWD-snore-mobiles. We'll have to eliminate the CTS 2 door sedan & wagon since they clearly will not make money, so that leaves the 4 door, a taller by 2", longer by 3.2" & wider by 1.5" & 3 cubic feet of extra interior room... "BROUGHAM LUXURY SEDAN HIGHLINE TOURING" (BLSHT) and lets not forget the BRAWNY ACTIVITY & RECREATIONAL FREESTYLE (BARF) "crossover" based on the same platform for a total of THREE models. Please try to contain your excitement! -
I think no division needs to die... but IF it comes to that, these three should be FIRST!!! - Hummer - SAAB - Saturn

Those fuselage bodied-Mopars are all nufkin awesome! Esp. the IMPERIAL-death-star Limo! soooo.... buy XP's '70 DeVille 4dr hardtop. He's moving and wants it sold to a good home, it's MUCH more solid than the Murder car and he's asking under a grand for it, w/ the fresh battery & carb rebuild that's a steal, I've been trying to talk myself out of buying it cause my pregnant wifee will kill me if |I do!

You would NOT beleive how many people think my beatup, dented, super-faded paint with peeling clearcoat '92 Roadmaster is a U.C. 9C1 or some other five-oh... I installed REDNECK-ified spotlights, a push bar sourced from pipe at the Home Depot & voila, the passing lane opens right up for me, with more than half the people thinking I'm a cop... I'll post pictures soon... it's quite funny. I even have integrated tow-hooks right in the "push-bar" that I made out of steel pipe. I'm REALLY getting into this whole concept of an ultra bang4thebuck "MAD MAX B-body".

Camino, you DO realize that you're pretty much describing my 100% full time daily driver from Feb. to July of this year, right? The Banana Boat fits that description to a "t" with the exception of being late-70s & a few inches shorter than the HARDTOP CdVs of 1970-1-2-3. And remember, last year for 75% of the summer I drove a '59 Buick, with the other 25% being diced up amongst a '71 Cadillac, '76 Buick LeSabre 4dr post & '94 R-master Estate... including a pretty swank roadtrip under the cover of darkness where Fly's Bicentenial LeSabre saw well over 100mph more than once on the highway for a good stretch... waste of gasoline? nahhh!

THAT is the stuidest thing I've ever heard in my life... Cleary the Cadillac DTS would be "Cappuccino''
-
Yes. And I too do not see a new GM car in my driveway past the ZETA/SIGMA demise. But if you get a Poncho G8ST at least you'll own one of the last products from GM that will not suck 100%.

2010 Pontiac G6 MCE Spotted W/O Camo
Sixty8panther replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in Heritage Marques
A proud history to draw upon... what else do you think Balthy was talking about? You can start by checkin' out his sig: -
Hahahah... yeah that's right... you took like a hundred photos that day. I even parked the car in the "horse-port" at the 4H.

Hope springs eternal.... But the way GM is headed looks like we're in for -at least- another decade of FWD-garbage with alphanumeric names & lame-o me-too styling. They'll show us a bold, sexy, well proportioned RWD hardtop coupe at every autoshow & then we'll see a "production version" in showrooms three years later, two years after almost everyone in the general public has completetly forgoten about it, except the production version will be a four-door-sedan made by Daewoo with I4 & V6 power.... mated to a six or seven speed automatic. Silver lining: We'll have seventeen cupholders, five MP3 jacks & three navigation screens in every car.

Whatever may come in Chrysler's future one thing is for sure: They came out with ALL their guns blazing, they might not live to see 2050, or maybe even 2025 or who knows... maybe even worse.... But whatever happens they did NOT pu&&y out, crawl into a hole deep like Saddan Insane & cry while curled into fetal position, unwilling to do anything other than blame the bad guy (government, consumers, beancounters....) The GM of 2008 can not hold a candle to the Chrysler of 2008... sure they have a lot of $h!boxes with FWD but the enthusiast can choose one of several RWD mainstream, practical products including a SEDAN, WAGON & COUPE!!! I wish the Challenger was a hardtop but, the Camaro was also dumbed down into a frameless-door 2dr SEDAN too. The SRTs are not a shame to the classic cars of Mopar's past... the "directo connection" drag cars & hot rods... But a FWD Impala SS? Lucerne? DTS? I'd rather see GM not make it much longer than see them die a sloooow pathetic death making $h!piles that have no redeming value other than being 0.1% cooler than a typical Japanese FWD sedan. Yeah... it's one of my many character flaws... I just can't help but be vocal if I witness wrong-doing, I want to take action, step up, put my money where my mouth is & do the right thing... or even if I can only shout from the side-lines, I still give it my ALL!

Sounds like a really crappy, store-brand generic version of Honey Bunches of Oats. Reality Bites "crunchy clusterfu*ks & front-wheel-drive faux-almond slivers" Agreed. I don't "HABLA".... I HAVE a first language, I don't need or want to learn Espaniol, but I learned english as a 2nd & you should learn english too, or you can, er... should, GITDEFUKKOUT of the USA! I don't FWD... It's kind of like those goofy ergonomic bikes where you lay on your back & peddle as if you are too good to ride a bike standing up... it's just not right and it's just not for ME.

Who parked a Chinese transport-pod next to that gorgeous BUICK!? J/K.... somewhat. The Enclave is gorgeous, too bad the motor is installed incorectly right from the factory on 100% of them... it's turned 180* clockwise....
-
Great point... ok, I agree... kill it, besides we've got RWD product coming with the ZETA (swb) Impala coupe, sedan wagon & ragtop, Regal coupe, sedan & ragtop, Grand Prix coupe & sedan, Coupe deVille , Sedan deVilles coming & the ZETA (lwb) Fleetwood, Caprice Classic, Buick Electra 225 (coupe & sedan) & Electra Estate (wagon) & Bonneville seadan... That will be PLENTY of mass market cars, GM's own version of the 300C/Magnum/Charger lineup! Oh wait, hold on... this telegram just came in: GM sucks at life... stop. ZETA cancelled... except for one Pontiac & one Chevy... stop 48 more FWD models coming in next decade... stop Camcord clones all around... stop Just kill me now! That job is DONE? Soooo... now back to making seven different FWD vehicles for the NEXT three decades?

I'm guessing, based on the photo of a Pre-war car nose sticking out of the garage eariler in this thread, and what definately looks to be '39-'40 Mopar fenders & greenhouse, that this is the same car, which would make it a 1939 Dodge coupe (no idea of series etc...) As far as the motor, based on the limited info in the pic... halibrand injection does not really give any hints, same for valve covers etc... that there's a Mopar wedge motor under that butterfly hood... 440? (based on distributor)
