      How does Karma Automotive plan on selling their new Revero?

    What is the best way to sell a vehicle? Is it through a dealership or a factory store? For Karma Automotive - the reincarnation of Fisker - plans to do both.


    Automotive News reports that by the end of this year, 10 franchised dealerships in key markets around the U.S. and Canada will begin selling the Revero. The dealers picked already sell brands like Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, and Porsche.


    "These guys really understand this customer. They get that it's not moving metal and pushing volume like the mass-market guys have to," said Jim Taylor, Karma's chief marketing officer.


    Alongside the dealers, Karma will have a few brand experience centers" (aka factory stores) in states allow this type of retail experience. Taylor said the stores would allow Karma to control its brand message, and provide reassurance to the dealers that "it's living up to the same standards it expects of them."


    "When you control your own store, you live it every day, so you have to walk the walk, So I think in a good way it puts a lot of pressure on yourself to deliver the same level of performance," said Taylor.


    Karma plans on showing the Revero next month.

    Interesting, I question this mix of some states with stores, some states with factory stores. I can see a nightmare of litigation from state to state about if dealership versus company owned store.


    I have no warm fuzzies about this succeeding.  :confused0071:

    Seems the Revero has the big outcoming yesterday.




    The car is in production, has it's solar panel roof that Karma is saying can power the car. Also interesting is that Karma web site and releases say they are working on the Atlantic also to go into production in the future.

    Uhhhh, so basically another Cadillac ELR style vehicle, plenty of style, barely any substance, and I don't think any of the quality issues have been resolved. That and the lighting assemblies are dated, and the car is reminder of a brand that failed to succeed in the first place.


    It's a waste to me, but someone can spend the pretty penny on this talking piece for the garage.

      (MAHWAH, NJ) – Oct. 1, 2019 – Jaguar Land Rover today reported September 2019 U.S. sales. Jaguar Land Rover total September U.S. sales reached 9,490 units, a five percent increase from September 2018, led by higher sales of all-new Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Jaguar F-PACE. For the calendar year, Jaguar Land Rover achieved 89,071 units, an increase of three percent vs. 86,309 in 2018.

      For the month of September, Jaguar sales were 2,002 units, two percent lower than a year ago. The Jaguar F-PACE continued to lead the brand’s sales performance with 1,021 units sold, up thirteen percent from September 2018. The Jaguar E-PACE and XE sold 319 and 218 units respectively.
      Land Rover
      For the month of September, the Land Rover brand sold 7,488 units, an increase of seven percent from 6,966 units in September 2018. The new Range Rover Evoque is up 69 percent with 1,069 units sold. The Range Rover Sport continues to be the brand’s sales leader with 2,288 units sold, an increase of 22 percent vs. 1,878 units in September 2018.

      ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (Oct 1, 2019) - Volvo Car USA LLC (VCUSA) reported U.S. sales of 9,323 vehicles for the month of September, an increase of 7 percent from the same period last year. Year-to-date VCUSA has sold 77,432 vehicles, an increase of 4.7 percent from the previous year. September marks nine months of year-over-year growth.
      “Volvo’s growth continues amid market volatility thanks to great design, safety and a relentless focus on the post-purchase customer experience.” said Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO, Volvo Car USA & Senior Vice President Americas.
      Volvo sedans bucked the industry trend in the United States, with the S60 mid-sized sedan and S90 full-sized sedan posting impressive percentage gains over September 2018. The XC90 was the most popular car in September, up 18.2 percent, selling 2,935 cars. The XC60 followed with 2,253 cars and the S60 with 1,614 vehicles sold.

    • i definitely did not know their pumps/stations were open to the public. That really is a pretty big difference.  I know there is a lot of R&D left before hydrogen can become financially feasible, but I've said it for about 10 years now, I believe hydrogen is the real future. I know it isn't some short 10-15 years away or anything but the unlimited fuel source is the difference maker. Until solar panels, wind, and water generators can 100% fuel the planet(which I don't think will be ever) I don't see electric-only being the forever fuel source. 
    • What R&D do they do that seems better than anybody else?  Also, it seems odd to not want a product because the CEO has an attitude. I get it but I don't at the same time.  I do really like what they're doing with Amazon and Ford to get a guaranteed cash flow. 
    • I think what will help the lone contract trucker as well as small companies is that companies like UPS, FedEx and Waste Management have all built their pumping stations to be also open to the public. This helps spread the use and cover the cost. I know the west coast is far more ahead of the Fuel cell and EV trend than most other areas of the country, but as Warren Buffet has stated about his own purchase of multiple train companies, the sooner they convert from Diesel generation to LNG generation the cleaner and quieter the planet becomes for the health of humanity. In it for everyone to have a healthier life.
    • I can understand what you say, I have researched RJ the CEO and the backing of the company and R&D they have done. Very solid, very efficient company so far and clearly not dragging along the attitude of Musk. I honestly think with building the F150 EV truck for Ford, building their own auto's and the Amazon Prime EV delivery van fleet that we will see a much better run and production company as they move from their current Beta testing and assembly line building to a full production site at the end of the year. Knowledge is power and my research on Rivian is showing a better planned and executed company.  The only thing holding me back from putting down a deposit is my test fit into the auto. I hope to do that in the near future.
    • Yeah, that's such a small portion of the country. The biggest difference will be for the privately owned trucks and smaller companies. I think that is the biggest reason it will not be 25 years because they aren't going to be putting in their own infrastructure and they will need cross country stations.  I did notice, for the first time, a UPS truck had a sticker near their tank that said it used "liquid compressed natural gas". I was on the interstate so I didn't notice if it was quieter or louder than diesel but it did catch my eye.
