    Spying: Kia Cadenza

Kia hasn't had a flagship since the unloved Amanti left years ago. Since that time, Kia has been looking what could take the place of it. The answer could be the new Cadenza which has been caught in spy pictures undergoing some hot weather testing.

Looking the past the camouflage Kia has used on this mule, the Cadenza looks to be a slightly larger Optima sedan, with a similar shape in the windows, profile, and nose.

Also, there are some pictures of the interior which include stitched dash cover, central clock, chrome accents, and a large screen for the infotainment system.

The Cadenza will be mechanically similar to the Hyundai Azera, so that means a 3.3L V6 producing 293 HP and a six-speed automatic.

The Cadenza will likely carry a base price somewhere in the mid to high $30s and come out sometime next summer as a 2014 model.

Interesting layout, reminds me of the Chevy's. I do not see this as a luxury car, but just a normal Chevy competition.

Hyundai and Kia possibly replacing 1.2 Million engines!
According to a breaking story on King 5 News, Hyundai and Kia are recalling 1.2 million auto's for possible engine failure.
      2013 - 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport & Sonata
      2011 - 2014 Kia Sportage & Sorento
Company has stated that debri from manufacturing was possibly left in the engine that will restrict oil flow to connecting rod bearings that will increase temperatures and cause premature wear and failure on the bearings.
Dealerships will inspect engines and if wear is detected, will replace the block if needed at no cost.
The Detroit Free Press also has this story but states that the recall is 1.4 million as they are also including Canada and South Korea models affected in this recall.

It is no secret that Subaru is wanting to get back in the three-row crossover fight after the failure of the Tribeca. We got our first preview last year at the LA Auto Show with the Viziv-7 Concept and now we're getting some idea of what the production version will look like thanks to some spy shots.
From all angles, the production version (possibly named Ascent) is heavily toned down from the Viziv-7 concept. The front end is reminiscent to the Outback with the large grille and smaller headlights. Around back, the Ascent loses the aggressive bumper design found on the concept but it looks like the design of the tailgate remains.
It is expected that Subaru's upcoming crossover will use the new modular platform that underpins the Impreza. We still don't have any idea on what will power it, but it would be safe to assume a CVT and all-wheel drive will come standard.
Subaru will reveal the Ascent sometime next year.

As Opel and Vauxhall get ready to introduce the all-new Insignia Grand Sport and Sports Tourer for Geneva, a new set of spy shots reveals Opel is working on the next member of the Insignia family, the new Country Tourer.
The mule seen in the photos obtained by Motor1 and The Truth About Cars reveal some noticeable changes from the standard Sports Tourer. First off, there are new bumpers and plastic body cladding to give it a more rugged look. It also appears the ride height has been raised, though how much is unknown at this time. All-wheel drive is expected, though there is talk about offering front-wheel drive to provide better fuel economy. As for power, expect some form of GM's 2.0L turbo-four. But The Truth About Cars says there is the possibility of a V6.
Motor1 says Opel will be revealing the Insignia Country Tourer this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show. There is, of course, the rumor of Buick getting a wagon variant of the Insignia, possibly this model and being named the Regal Tourx. Whether that comes to fruition or not remains to be seen.
